Memories of the Grey is a companion quest for Blackwall in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Blackwall possesses maps that chart old Warden camps and outposts throughout Ferelden and Orlais. The Wardens who abandoned these camps may have left behind artifacts of interest to Blackwall.
Acquisition
After Blackwall has been recruited, speak to him in either Haven or Skyhold. During the first non-cutscene conversation, he will automatically give the quest.
Walkthrough
The artifacts are hidden so the Search function must be used to find them. They are located in following places:
- 2 in The Hinterlands:
- Calenhad's Foothold, Maps of the Deep Roads
- South-East of Forest Camp, Pristine Griffon Feather
- 2 in The Storm Coast:
- Grey Wardens' Treaties, in an abandoned camp, south-east of the The Stone Tree (the camp also holds an objective for the Wardens of the Coast quest)
- Wardens' Commander's Badge, in an abandoned hut, east of Driftwood Margin Camp (the hut also holds an objective for the Wardens of the Coast quest, and the bottle of "Vintage: Warden Riordan. Serve Yourself.")
- 2 in The Fallow Mire
- Grey Warden tome, behind the locked door on the upper level of the entrance to Hargrave Keep. Requires the Deft Hands, Fine Tools Perk. (Also contains Mosaic Piece for Freed Are Slaves collection.)
- Grey Warden Banner, in some crates on the far right side of the entrance to the Avvar Leader's Base Camp.
- 2 in The Western Approach
- Grey Warden Sword, atop a wooden tower, south-west of Nazaire's Pass Camp (where one of the rifts for the Rifts off the Pass quest is found). Rewards 80 Influence
- Vial of Archdemon Blood, in Echoback Fort
- 2 in Emprise du Lion
Results
- Each artifact picked up awards 40 Influence
- If Blackwall is in the party when the first artifact is recovered (doesn't matter which one), he Greatly Approves.
- If Blackwall is NOT in the party when the first artifact is recovered, the next time he is spoken to in Haven/Skyhold, he Approves. He also makes a snide comment about how he would've liked to have been there when the Inquisitor found it.
