Memories of the Grey is a companion quest for Blackwall in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Blackwall possesses maps that chart old Warden camps and outposts throughout Ferelden and Orlais. The Wardens who abandoned these camps may have left behind artifacts of interest to Blackwall.

Acquisition

After Blackwall has been recruited, speak to him in either Haven or Skyhoid. During the first non-cutscene conversation, he will automatically give the quest.

Walkthrough

The artifacts are hidden so the Search function must be used to find them. They are located in following places:

  • 2 in The Fallow Mire
    • Grey Warden tome, behind the locked door on the upper level of the entrance to Hargrave Keep. Requires the Deft Hands, Fine Tools Perk. (Also contains Mosaic Piece for Freed Are Slaves collection.)
    • Grey Warden Banner, in some crates on the far right side of the entrance to the Avvar Leader's Base Camp.

Results

  • Each artifact picked up awards 40 Influence
  • If Blackwall is in the party when the first artifact is recovered (doesn't matter which one), he Greatly Approves.
  • If Blackwall is NOT in the party when the first artifact is recovered, the next time he is spoken to in Haven/Skyhold, he Approves. He also makes a snide comment about how he would've liked to have been there when the Inquisitor found it.
