Marcelline de Ghislain is a Grand Cleric and a member of House De Ghislain.
Background[]
Marcelline is the younger sister of Duke Bastien de Ghislain, and therefore the aunt of Duke Laurent de Ghislain. She is a deeply pious woman as well as an influential voice among the grand clerics. Vivienne describes her as having the temper of a "hungry vulture."
Involvement[]
After Duke Bastien's death, Vivienne invites his sister, Grand Cleric Marcelline, and his son and heir, Duke Laurent de Ghislain of the Council of Heralds, to visit Skyhold. Marcelline is pleasantly surprised by Skyhold, as she expected nothing more than ruins. At their request, Vivienne also introduces them to the Inquisitor. Marcelline expresses gratitude for their attempt to save Bastien's life, and tells them that it was simply his time to go, as the Circle of Magi had already declared his illness incurable many years prior. After their brief conversation with the Inquisitor, they move to the chapel while Vivienne discusses other matters with the Inquisitor. She tells them that they have made a good impression on both Grand Cleric Marcelline and Duke Laurent, strenghtening her connections to both the highest levels of the Chantry and the Council of Heralds.
Later, Josephine mentions that Grand Cleric Marcelline is also a candidate for the role of Divine.
