The Malign Staff is a staff in Dragon Age: Origins. This variant can be found only in the DLC The Darkspawn Chronicles.

Acquisition

Found in a chest up the first flight of stairs during the Assault on the Palaces, north of the stairs that lead to where the Ogre is imprisoned.

Notes

• It has the same appearance as the Malign Staff (Origins).
• Though many staves have a wooden appearance, this one and the Darkspawn Staff from the same module are the only ones that actually are made from wooden material, which, on weapons, is otherwise reserved for bows. This leads to a higher armor penetration and wider range than for their metal counterparts of the same tier.
