Loyal Friends is a side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
Acquisition[]
A note is left on a table in the Veil Jumper Camp mentions that Taynore and Gus have gone to look for a missing fellow Veil Jumper. Reading the note triggers the quest. The note becomes available after completing An Unfamiliar Sense.[confirmation needed]
Walkthrough[]
A Veil Jumper, Taynore, has gone after a friend who went missing in Arlathan Forest while dealing with a magical relic.
Help the missing Veil Jumpers[]
Head to the area marked on the map. To reach it, a blight wall located directly underneath the closest beacon and next to a Fen'Harel Altar, must be destroyed. Activate the altar as well. Through the new opening the group discovers more blight which worries them.
Behind the big blight boil on the ground is a note left by the original missing Veil Jumper Oros who describes coming upon a blighted relic that infected him. Close to this note is a ladder leading up to a small ledge with some explosives on - detonate them to open a shortcut back which will be useful later. Climb up on the ledge where Harding and Rook found an injured Veil Jumper during An Unfamiliar Sense to destroy more blight boils. Under the boil here Rook needs to investigate and finds the remains of Oros. Located on this ledge is the Fen'Harel Altar wolf.
Jump off the cliff and destroy the blight boil high on the wall back towards where the team entered the area, then follow the blight cord in that direction to unlock that area as well. Jump down into the new area which spawns a new enemy that turns out to be the remains of Taynore. This saddens the group but they remain hopeful to find the last party member - the tracker, Gus.
To find him, check around the climbable tower of ruins in the middle of this area. It turns out that Gus was Oros' companion nug and Rook sets out to return him. Head back to the Veil Jumper Camp by walking or using fast travel, then interact with Gus' open cage to return him. An elf named Sloan is happy to see him and promises to care for the animal on learning that Taynore and Oros are gone.

Completing the quest yields:
- 100 Veil jumper strength
- Nug stature
- Increased bond with the companions you take
Results[]
Taynore and Gus are searching for another Veil Jumper, worried that he may have come to harm in his quest to stabilize a magical relic. They've been gone a while, and may need help.
Thanks to the team, Gus the nug has been rescued from the wilds, and now has a new friend.
