“Truth lies in the next world.”

Lord Livius Erimond is a Tevinter magister and a member of the Venatori. He is from Vyrantium.

Involvement

This section contains spoilers for:
Dragon Age: Inquisition.

When every Grey Warden in Orlais began to hear the Calling at once--a false Calling created by Corypheus--the Grey Wardens grew desperate and sought out the Tevinter Imperium to help them stage one last assault upon the darkspawn before they all perished. Lord Livius Erimond convinced Orlesian Warden-Commander Clarel to use Tevinter blood magic techniques to bind demons to Grey Warden mages and invade the Deep Roads to kill the remaining Old Gods before they wake, thus ending future Blights before they begin. Clarel summoned all available Wardens to Orlais to make this last attempt. The Grey Wardens did not realize the binding ritual would also enslave them to Corypheus, who intends to use the Wardens and demons as an army to terrorize Thedas. To Corypheus the Blight is a tool to be used. Erimond claims that when Corypheus rules in the Golden City the Venatori will rule Thedas as god-kings. In order to bind the demons, non-Warden mages must be sacrificed to empower the Warden mages.

It was this shocking plan that the Inquisitor's Warden ally, either Stroud, Alistair, or Loghain Mac Tir, protested, causing them to be branded a traitor and forced into exile for denouncing Clarel, hunted by fellow Wardens to be captured and possibly killed. The fugitive Warden, Hawke, and the Inquisitor scouted the ancient Tevinter ritual tower in the Western Approach to investigate Clarel's Grey Warden congregation and there learned the truth of the Venatori's blood sacrifice rituals.

At the tower, Erimond is instructing Grey Warden mages in blood sacrifice. The Inquisitor interrupts the ritual and engages in battle with Erimond once the truth is revealed. Erimond flees to Adamant Fortress and the Inquisitor and their companions follow. By the time the Inquisitor and company arrive Clarel has already begun her blood magic ritual by sacrificing an elven girl named Jana or a fellow Warden if Jana is convinced not to join. The ritual is disrupted when the Inquisitor attempts to sway the Wardens and Clarel to move against Erimond, who in turn summons Corypheus' dragon to kill the Inquisitor. After a brief skirmish with Erimond, Clarel is mangled by the dragon and while near death attacks it with a blast of lightning, buying the Inquisition time to escape.

After the events at Adamant Fortress, Erimond is seized by the Inquisition and can then be judged by the Inquisitor. The Grey Warden order wishes his death.[1]

Judgement of Erimond

Erimond can face several forms of punishment at the hands of the Inquisitor:

  • Imprisonment
  • Execution
  • Remanded to the Grey Wardens for justice
  • Tranquility (mage Inquisitor only)
