Lindiranae was one of the last Emerald Knights to fall during the Exalted March of the Dales and the last wielder of the legendary blade Evanura.
Background[]
When Halamshiral, capital of the elven kingdom, fell to Orlesian forces in 2:20 Glory, Lindiranae was at the helm of a last, desperate resistance mounted in the region known as Dirthavaren, "the promise," which would later be known as the Exalted Plains. There, she faced the Orlesian Champion, Ser Brandis of Lac Celestine, the Silver Knight, and refused to yield. While monuments on the Plains[1] state that Lindiranae was bested by Ser Brandis, the Silver Knight, in single combat, research by Lord Avery of Montsimmard in the Dragon Age indicates that Ser Brandis, who didn't want to see her die in vain, refused to fight her and that Lindiranae was actually killed by an arrow fired by another soldier. After her death, the Silver Knight took her sword to the Emerald Graves and buried it beneath a tree in the Vallasdahlen,[2] the same tree that was planted in remembrance of her.[3]
Lindiranae's death marked the end of the Dales. Though her true fate is unknown even to them, she is a highly respected figure to the Dalish; in addition to her blade, her talisman is also an artifact of particular importance to the Dalish. The Inquisitor can help Keeper Hawen's clan retrieve it from the ruins of the Shrine to Sylaise on the Exalted Plains.
