Learn More about Dragons is a war table operation in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Acquisition Edit

Obtained after recruiting Frederic of Serault as an Agent and completing the side quest Breeding Grounds (in either order).

Operation text Edit

The dragon that Corypheus controls looks like an Archdemon, but is something else entirely. To defeat his threat, the Inquisition must know all it can about dragons. Frederic of Serault, the self-styled "researcher of dragons," may be of some help. However, no one knows when Corypheus may attack next. Frederic and the Inquisition should focus on one area of research first.

Advisor suggestions Edit

Note: The time listed is the time it takes with no agents.

Josephine - 1:00:00 Edit

No one knows more about the beasts than the Pentaghast family of Nevarra. With Cassandra's help, I could secure permission for Frederic to peruse their archives for information about dragons past and present.

Leliana - 1:00:00 Edit

One can learn quite a bit by dissection, and many minds are better than one. My agents can search all of Thedas for naturalists like Frederic, to join him in poring over dragon carcasses to their hearts' content.

Cullen - 0:48:00 Edit

Didn't you recently discover a dragon nesting ground? Frederic might be able to learn something from it. Get him to lead a research expedition. I can supply an entourage of soldiers to protect him.

Results Edit

Josephine Edit

Excerpt of Frederic of Serault's Report:

You cannot imagine the wealth of knowledge in Nevarra. I could spend years reading the physical descriptions of dragons alone. I shall have to spend more time here. For the moment, however, I've discovered that dragonslayers of the past believed dragons to be unusually resistant to the blight. In fact, some believed that dragon physiology was capable of stemming the spread of the infection, though this was a mere hypothesis and never fully explored. Did you know? I sat on a chair made entirely of bleached dragonbone. It was magnificent, if not very comfortable.

Leliana Edit

Excerpt of Frederic of Serault's Report:

Within the carcass of the Abyssal High Dragon, we found cysts of hardened flesh. Sister Brigette, a scholar from Nevarra, said she had seen, once or twice, similar nodules in other beasts. To protect itself, the body grew a barrier around a foreign object that could not be removed.

Naturally, of course, we cut into the cyst. The flesh within was blighted. We immediately examined all other cysts found in the other dragon carcasses. Each time, we found the blight. The only conclusion we can draw is that dragons can stem the spread of the blight within their own bodies. They cannot do this indefinitely, as the existence of Corypheus's dragon suggests, but they are more resistant than other creatures.

Cullen Edit

Excerpt of Frederic of Serault's report:

We found a clutch of intact dragon eggs, which are currently incubating in Skyhold. For study purposes only, of course. How dangerous can baby dragons be? We found little else. From eyewitness reports, the adult dragons never ventured close to where the red lyrium grows, even though they could easily have done so. I can only conclude that the creatures instinctively understand that red lyrium poses a threat.
