Clan Lavellan is a Dalish clan that wanders the wilderness in the northern Free Marches.

Background[]

Clan Lavellan travels in the Free Marches between the territorial boundaries of the city-states to avoid being attacked by humans, who will be less inclined to attack the Dalish out of fear of accidentally instigating one of their neighbors by infringing on their territory. Like other Dalish clans, they maintain their religious and cultural views despite the Chantry criminalizing the elven faith.[1]

In the past, Clan Lavellan may have camped on the edge of the Tirashan forest.[2]

Involvement[]

Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Sometime following 9:40 Dragon the clan's Keeper observed that a Chantry conclave, seeking to put an end to the Mage-Templar War, would impact not just the future of the Dalish, but of all elves. To this end she resolved to spy on the event, sending either her First, or a hunter. After a cataclysmic event they ended up becoming the Inquisitor, leader of the reformed Inquisition, if chosen by the player.

Through an assortment of operations on the war table, the Lavellan clan, then camped out near the Free Marches city state of Wycome, becomes a part of a dangerous political mechanism, and is at risk of being wiped out if the proper options are not chosen.

The clan is later attacked, accused of having brought a plague, and potentially become victim of human retribution for multiple charges of which they are innocent.

Provided the clan survives the events of the operations, Keeper Istimaethoriel obtains a seat on a new city council and will have a hand in the running of Wycome.

Trespasser[]

Trespasser.

If Clan Lavellan survives the events of Inquisition:
Varric, as the new Viscount of Kirkwall, brokers an alliance with the new Wycome council, giving Clan Lavellan some valuable political 'muscle'.
If Clan Lavellan was attacked and wiped out:
Sera will mention she has the Friends of Red Jenny searching for survivors in Wycome. Cullen will also mention that he's sorry for the Inquisitor's loss, if the option to discuss the people missing back home in the dialogue tree is selected after inquiring about his family.
