Keeping the Darkspawn Down is a side quest in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
Acquisition
The quest is started by completing the war table operation Reports of Darkspawn Activity.
Walkthrough
Proceed to the Storm Coast with a mage, unless you are a mage yourself; it's also best to bring along Blackwall for some easy approval for each tunnel you block off. There are 4 caves in total to close, to halt the darkspawn activity.
Reward
- 521 XP
- 200 influence
- 2 power
Approval
- Blackwall Slightly Approves upon approaching each of the four tunnel entrances.
- Blackwall Slightly Approves whenever a group of Darkspawn is killed and he is in the active party. Even lone Darkspawn considered as "group". That can be used to gain some extra approval. There is a darkspawn tunnel inside the Waterfall cave (the most southern quest mark, up the Long River). Whenever you kill Darkspawn without sealing the tunnel and move away from tunnel entrance far enough a few Darkspawn will respawn. Enter the cave, kill darkspawns, go further to the big dwarven statue, turn around, go to the exit, kill 1-2 respawned Darkspawn, proceed to the exit. Repeat as much as you want.
Notes
- You can also find a tunnel entrance in the lower section of Valammar, in the Hinterlands, giving Blackwall slight approval and needing a mage to close it. This is unrelated to the quest, however.
