Keening Blade is a longsword in Dragon Age: Origins.

Acquisition

Dropped by Gaxkang at the Quaint Hovel in Denerim, at the end of the Unbound side quest.

Notes

Unless other elemental runes are placed upon the sword, the Keening Blade will always have an icy aura about it.
Keening Blade cold damage scales with any frost runes. Formula: (b+rd)+(rd-1*rn) where b=3 base frost damage, rd=runes total damage bonus, rn =runes number. Having 2 master frost runes and 1 grandmaster will give a total bonus damage of (3+13)+(13-1*3)=26 frost damage displaying as 16+3+3+4 in combat.
