Kal Repartha is a lost dwarven thaig that lies on the surface of the Hissing Wastes. In dwarven language it means "a place where we may meet in peace".[1]

History[]

At least a hundred years before the First Blight[2] several dwarven houses left their thaigs to escape war[1], emerged from the Deep Roads and sealed the exit.[3] They were lead by Paragon Fairel, master smith and the most talented Shaper of Runes in dwarven history. They settled on the desert of the Hissing Wastes, where they built the only known dwarven colony on the surface; this surface colony remained unknown to the rest of their kind, who, according to the Memories, believe that they had died in the Deep Roads.[1][4]

With his sons' help, Fairel ensured the thaig prospered and grew. Before his death he made each son swear he would take care of his brother. For a time, Fairel's sons worked together, each of them ruling half the thaig. Eventually, they argued and one of them killed the other in a duel. The remaining son realized that his actions were foolish and built elaborate tombs to honor and mourn his father and brother.[4] The tombs were sealed with the use of veilfire and gangue demons were bound into the rocks to guard them.[5]

By 9:41 Dragon, no dwarves live in Kal Repartha anymore and its long-abandoned ruins now dot the desert's landscape.

Dragon Age: Inquisition.

The Elder One sends a Venatori expedition to excavate the ruins in hope of replicating Fairel's masterpieces.[6] The Inquisitor however can disrupt their plans and gain access to the Tomb of Fairel themselves.
