Kal Repartha is a lost dwarven thaig that lies on the surface in the area known as the Hissing Wastes. Its name means "a place where we may meet in peace."[1]

History

Before the First Blight[2] several dwarven houses left their thaigs,[1] emerged from the Deep Roads and sealed the exit.[3] They were lead by Paragon Fairel, master smith and the most talented Shaper of Runes in dwarven history. Legend says he died in the Deep Roads during a war between two thaigs who used his runework to build fantastic weapons of destruction. In truth, he escaped from the war with his entire house and his two sons and built a city on the surface.[1][4]

With his sons' help, Fairel ensured the thaig prospered and grew. Before his death he bade each son swear he would take care of his brother. For a time, Fairel's sons worked together, each of them ruling half the thaig. Eventually, they argued and one of them killed the other in a duel. The remaining sun realized that his actions were foolish and built elaborate tombs to honor and mourn his father and brother.[4] The tombs were sealed and demons were bound into the rocks to guard them.[5]

The Elder One sent the Venatori to excavate the ruins in the hope of replicating Fairel's masterpieces.[6] The Inquisitor disrupted their plans and accessed the Tomb of Fairel themselves.
