Kaitlyn is a human female found near the exit from the Redcliffe Chantry.
Involvement
Kaitlyn is sobbing and will reveal her mother was captured by the undead besieging the village (see A Village Under Siege) and that her brother Bevin has gone missing. The Warden can offer to look for him, which opens the A Missing Child quest. If her brother is found Kaitlyn is thrilled to be reunited with him.
Result
Depending on the choices you made regarding her side quest, she may or may not play a part in the Epilogue. If you decide to pay her more than enough for her grandfathers sword, it is said that she uses the small fortune to open a foundry in Redcliffe. She becomes wealthy, respected, and meets Bann Teagan at court by chance. She marries him months after that.
