Julien was a human Grey Warden warrior from the Orlesian Empire.
Involvement
Julien was part of the Grey Warden detachment led by Commander Genevieve. Julien is one of the stronger Grey Wardens in battle, holding the line alongside Commander Genevieve and Nicholas against the darkspawn in the Deep Roads. Julien and Nicholas often kept to themselves and were always together. Julien worried when Nicholas was injured during battle against the darkspawn. What appeared to be a strong bond among close friends was revealed to be a romantic relationship among Julien and Nicholas in Nicholas's dream in the Fade. Julien and Nicholas had planned to live in the woodlands of the Arbor WIlds, south of Orlais for a few years before undertaking their Calling, which was the dream Nicholas had.
Julien was killed in battle with the dragon. In an attempt to escape the darkspawn, the group had encountered a high dragon and experienced great difficulty in killing the dragon. Duncan jumped on the high dragon and succeeded in gravely wounding the dragon with stabs to its neck. Duncan was thrown off the dragon however and landed, unable to move. Before the dragon could attack Duncan, Julien pulled Duncan out of the way and in retaliation the dragon attacked Julien, throwing him through the air. Julien landed with a broken neck.
