Joslin is a Fereldan refugee and rogue who encounters the Legends Hero. She asks the Hero for aid in saving her friends Faran, Xion, and Nera from darkspawn in the Planasene Pass. The hero saves who he or she can, but many die. Joslin, grateful for the hero's assistance, offers her services and becomes a companion.
