Irving is the First Enchanter of the Circle of Magi's tower in Ferelden, Kinloch Hold.
Background
Involvement
He is the Senior Mage in charge of the Circle Tower. And in a Mage orgin story he will be there to talk to The Warden and make him make some difficult choices concerning Jowan. Later in the main story he will be captured by Uldred, if you are not fast enough he can turn into an Abomination. And he can also play a role in the rescue of Connor.
If The Warden chooses to drive the Desire Demon out of Connor by entering the Fade instead of slaying him, Irving can be persuaded to enter the Fade and kill the demon. Doing so grants the Warden control over the First Enchanter for a brief period of time.
