House Cadash is a ruthless dwarven crime family which is part of the Carta. They were formerly a warrior house with Cadash Thaig being their ancestral home. However as exiles they are now casteless surfacers.
Background
House Cadash was exiled from Orzammar several generations before the Dragon Age. Only the Shaperate knows the exact reasoning behind it but it's revealed that House Cadash was feared long before its exile and that their "offensive" methods used in an attempt to find information about a particular war golem from the First Blight were seemingly the last straw.[1] House Cadash eventually became a prominent crime family of the Carta operating across various city-states in the Free Marches. Since then House Cadash has come to specialize in smuggling lyrium across Thedas.
Some 30 years later Shale was awakened by the Warden, who obtained Shale's control rod from Felix de Grosbois.
In 9:41 Dragon, a Cadash carta dwarf was sent to spy on the Divine Conclave at the Temple of Sacred Ashes seeking to put an end to the Mage-Templar War, since the conclave would have an enormous impact on the demand for lyrium.
After a cataclysmic event they ended up becoming the Inquisitor, the leader of the reformed Inquisition.
During the Trespasser storyline, the new Viscount of Kirkwall, Varric gives House Cadash an official seat on the Dwarven Merchants' Guild.
