The Hillside Path is a random encounter triggered during Dragon Age: Origins. The encounter occurs while traveling with Wynne—in the active party across the world map—only after the Warden asks if she has ever encountered abominations outside of the Circle.
Background[]
The party is ambushed by a large group of darkspawn.
Upon approaching the map exit after the fight, a short cut-scene will play showing Wynne fall to the ground. The next time the party returns to camp, Wynne will reveal what happened to her in the Circle Tower before the Warden's arrival. This conversation is required to trigger the random encounter in which Wynne gains her Vessel of the Spirit ability.
