Background[]
The Highest One was formerly an elven priest and the last known High Priest to Dirthamen, the elven god of secrets in the days of ancient Elvhenan. He was dismembered and silenced by his own followers when they came to believe he intended to seal them inside the Lost Temple of Dirthamen to protect their god's secret wisdom.
Involvement[]
The Inquisitor and their party rediscover the Lost Temple of Dirthamen after locating Scattered Glyphs found across the Exalted Plains in the Dales. After the Dalish mage Cillian managed to Investigate the Elven Glyphs, the Inquisition learns the location of the Temple. While searching the Temple, they subsequently discover the severed cursed remains of the High Priest and gather them together in the ritual chamber to summon the priest back. However, tormented by the horror it had endured, the priest manifests itself as a despair demon and attacks the Inquisitor. To no avail, the party slays the High Priest's and its death finally breaks the seal on the innermost chamber of the temple allowing for the Inquisition to claim the priesthood's most cherished artifact; Dirthamen's Wisdom.
