“Can't decide if I'm the luckiest son of a bitch walking, or the exact opposite.”

Harritt is the Inquisition's blacksmith in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Background[]

Harritt originally comes from the town of Lothering. He was in Redcliffe when the darkspawn attacked during the Fifth Blight and helped rebuild the village, but left later on when the rebel mages were offered sanctuary there. Harritt arrived in Haven just after the explosion at the Temple of Sacred Ashes. [1]

Involvement[]

Harritt serves as the blacksmith to the Inquisition in Haven and later on at Skyhold. During the side quest Haven's Best and Brightest, he will introduce the Herald to the crafting and upgrading features.

BioWare canon
The plot follows BioWare's own canon, meaning it may not follow some of the player's choices in the games.

Callback

After leaving the Inquisition, Harrit seems to have joined an Orlesian guild. A trade with Crestwood brought him back to Ferelden when he crossed paths with Sutherland and Company on their way to investigate the silence of Skyhold's caretakers and its missing supply caravan. Harrit became part of the reinforcements brought in by Rat. He participates in the fight against the Regret demon, formed out of Solas' murals, that successfully sends it back to the Fade.

Trivia[]

  • Harritt was written by Mike Laidlaw.[2]
  • Aside from meeting the Herald in Haven, it is entirely possible that Harritt also encountered the other two playable characters from the other Dragon Age titles; as he lived in Lothering, where Hawke is from, and was in Redcliffe when the Warden defended it from the darkspawn.
  • Harrit is one of the few Haven survivors to retain his services after moving to Skyhold. He is also one of the few named residents of Haven who does not need the Inquisitor's help to survive the events of the main quest In Your Heart Shall Burn.
  • If the Hero of Ferelden was a Mage, Harritt will mention this when asked about his past by the Herald whilst still in Haven.
