Gyda Myrdotten is an Avvar from Stone-Bear Hold in the Frostback Basin.
Background[]
Gyda is responsible for handling funerary rites in the Hold and as such conducts funerals and prepares the bodies of the fallen.
Involvement[]
Gyda is preparing the body of the recently deceased Caldan, who is believed to be one of the few people whose spirit will be allowed to return and as such is subject to special rites. However, Caldan's son, Finn, has been unable to complete the necessary tasks. Gyda asks that the Inquisitor complete them instead—as a guest of the Hold, they would be allowed to make an offering despite not being a relative—and sends them to speak with the Master of the Hunt.
If the Inquisitor chooses to give the offering to Caldan's son Finn instead, Gyda disapproves, saying that skirting the rules won't ease Caldan's return.
