The Chantry has a presence in each Andrastian country. Each country's Chantry is overseen by a grand cleric. A grand cleric is second only to the Divine, who is at the very top of the Chantry's hierarchy. A grand cleric is the one who can invoke the Right of Annulment. As with most positions in the Chantry, a grand cleric is always female. All grand clerics are addressed as "Your Grace."
Known Grand Clerics
- Grand Cleric Elemena of Ferelden. She makes an appearance during the Landsmeet in Dragon Age: Origins. If the Warden reveals Loghain's collaboration with Jowan, she will be outraged and will pledge the Chantry's support to the Wardens. Additionally, it will be she who suggest that the Landsmeet is resolved with a duel if a fight breaks out. She makes one final appearance near the end of Origins as the person who crowns either Alistair or Anora as King or Queen of Ferelden.
- Grand Cleric Elthina of the Free Marches, specifically in Kirkwall.
- Grand Cleric Callista of Orlais.
- Mother Bronach of Ferelden. She was the predecessor of the country's current Grand Cleric.
