“I'll answer what I can, but my policy is not to sell things that don't belong to me.”
Gorim Saelac is a knight and member of the warrior House Saelac. He is also a temporary companion in the Dwarf Noble Origin. During the events of the Fifth Blight he moves to the surface and becomes a merchant in the Denerim Market District.
Background
Gorim is the second of the Dwarf Noble, the second child of King Endrin Aeducan. Because of that he was trained only in sword and shield combat.[1] He is also acquainted with Oghren. He threw Oghren out of the Orzammar Royal Palace a dozen times for insulting King Endrin.
Involvement
If the Dwarf Noble is female, she can verify that there is a romantic relationship with Gorim, although the family of the Dwarf Noble won't allow it since Gorim is of lower caste. Gorim may also be asked for his opinion on what to do with the Dwarf Noble's elder brother, Trian Aeducan, as he is the crown prince and thus the first in line to become the new king of Orzammar. He will admit that he will be a very bad ruler and he has enough support in the Assembly just to keep it in a lockdown but not enough to become king, so killing him now will make the House Aeducan stronger and save a great deal of bloodshed later.
After the death of Trian, Gorim is exiled and sent to the surface, whilst the Dwarf Noble is exiled into the Deep Roads to fight darkspawn until their death. He will tell the Dwarf Noble that there is a way to escape by finding Duncan and other Grey Wardens who are there as well. When choosing a specific dialogue option Gorim tells the Dwarf Noble he will try to head to Denerim, the capital city of Ferelden, and that if the Dwarf Noble makes it out of the Deep Roads, they will find him there.
He does indeed make his way to Denerim, where the Warden can find him as a merchant in the Denerim Market District. He will tell the Dwarf Noble that he badly injured his leg while leaving Orzammar, and thus cannot fight anymore but he married a surface dwarf and is expecting a child with her. His new father-in-law is a smith who helps make the goods he sells. Furthermore, he will give to a Warden of the Dwarf Noble Origin, the shield of Aeducan and a letter from King Endrin. He also offers a special discount at his stall to Dwarf Noble (buying at 50% of the listed price of items instead of 25% and selling at only +10% - essentially anything you sell to him gives you double the gold that you'd get elsewhere). Similarly, during A Prince's Favor: The First Task and the Warden is not of Dwarf Noble Origin, you can speak to Lord Anwer Dace in the Aeducan Thaig and persuade him to offer of a discount with some surface merchants he knows. This will apply a 25% discount to any goods purchased from Gorim but adds nothing to the value of items you attempt to sell to him.
If the Warden is not a Dwarf Noble, having Oghren in the active party when approaching Gorim's stall for the first time will begin a conversation revealing how the two know one another. If the Dwarf Noble Warden is male and participated in Mardy's proposition during the events of the Origin, he may also choose to name his son after Gorim, should he regain his son's status in the quest Of Noble Birth. After Archdemon Urthemiel is slain, the Dwarf Noble Warden will become a Paragon and Gorim, as their second, will join House Aeducan and become a noble.
If the Warden does not survive the final battle, Gorim will be tasked with returning the body of the new Paragon back to Orzammar to be buried next to Endrin Aeducan. Otherwise, if the Dwarf Noble survives the final battle, Gorim will be in the throne room and tell the Dwarf Noble Warden that he will happily become the Warden's second again. Even if the Warden accepts his offer, Gorim does not appear again in Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening or in any other DLC.
