Duke Germain de Chalons is a member of Council of Heralds and Orlesian nobleman from House Chalons. Duke Germain is the uncle of Gaspard de Chalons and Florianne de Chalons.
Involvement[]
Duke Germain can be met in the guest wing of the Winter Palace. After exchanging greetings, the Inquisitor can disclose to Duke Germain that they didn't know that Gaspard was his nephew, which will raise court approval. Germain tells the Inquisitor that Gaspard is his brother's eldest son. Duke Germain mentions that Gaspard was a difficult child: he never listened and never did anything that he was told to. He also states that Gaspard was raised like a prince and was told all his life that he will become emperor, that it was his destiny and duty. He asks the Inquisitor that what else will Gaspard do with his life if he does not fight for his destiny?
The Inquisitor can ask him that if he saw anything strange during the evening. Duke Germain tells the Inquisitor that his niece Florianne de Chalons hasn't spoken to him during the evening and that it's not like her.
The Inquisitor can ask him about the civil war and Duke Germain tells the Inquisitor that if they are hoping for any insight then they have come to the wrong man. He tells the Inquisitor that the war is brutal, terrible, and that sometimes it is necessary. He then states there is nothing more to say about it.
During the War Table mission Dance with the Dowager: The Courante, Duke Germain with several other council member will declare that the disputed region of Ylenn would belong to the Inquisition and all revenues and oaths from these lands should be tendered thus as to a titled lord until such time as the Inquisition is dissolved or the holdings lawfully granted elsewhere.
