Gate of Parched Hopes is a side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Completing this quest will unblock progress towards completing The Heart of Corruption.
Acquisition[]
This quest can be acquired by walking up to the Gate of Parched Hopes in The Crossroads or by encountering the champion's blight cyst in the Old Crossroads in the Hossberg Wetlands.

When the gods used blighted roots to block off eluvians in the Crossroads, the team must defeat their champions to break the spell.
The Disciple-in-Ichor
Unseal the path to Parched Hopes[]
Travel to the Hossberg Wetlands and find the champion's blight cyst in the Old Crossroads area of the map. Burst the cyst and fight The Disciple-in-Ichor. The champion is vulnerable to fire and resistant to necrotic damage.
Head back to the Gate of Parched Hopes in Elvhenan's Haven in The Crossroads and unlock the gate with the Champion Essence to complete the quest. This will open the way to the Slaughter of the Pillars.

Results[]
The gods are slowing down the team in the Crossroads by magically sealing off paths leading to more eluvians. This magic is tied to the gods' champions, powerful entities roaming the mortal world. To travel freely, the team must defeat these champions and use their essence to break the seals.
The team has defeated one of the gods' champions in the Hossberg Wetlands and used its essence to unseal a root gate in the Crossroads.
