Gate of Pale Reflections is a side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Completing this quest will unblock progress towards completing The Heart of Corruption.
Acquisition[]
This quest can be acquired by finding the Gate of Pale Reflections in The Crossroads, or by encountering its champion, Amarell the Unwoven, in the Hossberg Wetlands.
Walkthrough[]
When the gods used blighted roots to block off eluvians in the Crossroads, the team must defeat their champions to break the spell.
Amarell the Unwoven
Unseal the path to Pale Reflections[]
Travel to the Hossberg Wetlands and find the champion's blight cyst in Solitude's Edge. Burst the cyst and fight Amarell the Unwoven. This champion is vulnerable to fire damage, and resistant to necrotic damage. Once defeated, collect the Champion Essence and the chest.
Head to the Gate of Pale Reflections in the Heights of Athim in The Crossroads and unlock the gate with the Champion Essence to complete the quest.

Defeating the champion yields:
- +350 XP
- 6
- +50 Grey Wardens Strength
- Mangled Limb (Valuable Item)
- 3 Pure Ore
Defeating the champion also unlocks access to a timelost hoard near where the champion's cyst was located. It contains one of the following, depending on Rook's class:
- Mage: Light of Starkhaven (unique amulet)
- Warrior: Field-Commander's Helm (unique helm) or Magebane (unique vitaar)
- Rogue: Optimist's Span (unique broadsword)
Completing the quest yields:
- +250 XP
- +250 Caretaker Power
Results[]
The gods are slowing down the team in the Crossroads by magically sealing off paths leading to more eluvians. This magic is tied to the gods' champions, powerful entities roaming the mortal world. To travel freely, the team must defeat these champions and use their essence to break the seals.
The team has defeated one of the gods' champions in the Hossberg Wetlands and used its essence to unseal a root gate in the Crossroads.
