The gods are slowing down the team in the Crossroads by magically sealing off paths leading to more eluvians. This magic is tied to the gods' champions, powerful entities roaming the mortal world. To travel freely, the team must defeat these champions and use their essence ot break the seals.
The team has defeated the gods' champion in Dock Town and used its essence to unseal a root gate in the Crossroads.
