Gate of Deep Sorrows is a side quest in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Completing this quest will unblock progress towards completing The Heart of Corruption.
Acquisition[]
This quest can be acquired by walking up to the Gate of Deep Sorrows in the Converged City in The Crossroads or by encountering the champion's blight cyst in Treviso.
Walkthrough[]
When the gods use blighted roots to block off eluvians in the Crossroads, the team must defeat their champions to break the spell.
Unseal the path to Deep Sorrows[]
Travel to Treviso and find the champion's blight cyst in the Crow's Road Rooftops area of the map. Burst the cyst and fight Desmal, Bloodbound to Elgar'nan. The champion is vulnerable to fire and resistant to necrotic damage.
After defeating Desmal, travel to the Gate of Deep Sorrows in the Converged City region of the Crossroads and use the champion's essence to remove the roots. This will open the way to the Betrayal of Felassan.

Completing the quest yields:

Results[]
The gods are slowing down the team in the Crossroads by magically sealing off paths leading to more eluvians. This magic is tied to the gods' champions, powerful entities roaming the mortal world. To travel freely, the team must defeat these champions and use their essence ot break the seals.
The team has defeated the gods' champion in Treviso and used its essence to unseal a root gate in the Crossroads.
