From the Ashes is a main quest in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
With a new base of operations, the Inquisition is ready to make its mark on the world.
Acquisition[]
The quest is automatically triggered after the conclusion of In Your Heart Shall Burn. As the Inquisitor arrives at Skyhold, several new quests open up, including this one. This is a short quest, pointing out the next course of action for the Inquisition.
Walkthrough[]
- Speak with Josephine in the antechamber just outside the war room.
- Speak with Varric on the battlements north of the Herald's Rest.

- Unlocks the main quest Here Lies the Abyss.
- Unlocks Find the Warden war table operation.

Trivia[]
- If the Inquisitor talks to Cassandra after meeting Hawke on the battlements, she will be very angry at Varric, claiming that he knew where Hawke was hiding all along. The Inquisitor can either stop the argument and attempt to make them come to an agreement, or do nothing and simply observe her negative reaction to Varric's knowledge about Hawke's presence in Skyhold. Stopping the argument may raise or lower Varric's or Cassandra's approval rating, depending on who the Inquisitor agrees with. Cassandra will then call Varric a snake.
- When introducing Hawke to the Inquisitor, Varric will say, "You and I did fight him after all." even if Varric was not brought along on the Legacy quest.
