--GreyWardenMortimus (talk) 23:20, March 16, 2012 (UTC)What made them be twisted deformed things instead of regular darkspawn? Can the mother be the result of another experiment apart from cutting her ties with the song and thus that is why her offsprings are not Hurlocks? ( or maybe she was not even human) I don't think cutting the conection with the old gods is the cause of this anomaly. It is a mystery not answered....

Well according to a post I read by David Gaider, there is a larval stage in Darkspawn. He said we saw some of that in Awakening, but mutated. Apparently, Darkspawn do not just waltz out of their broodmother's back end on two legs and start digging. I read this a long time ago though, so I doubt I'd be able to find the post. --Turbotwistedfire (talk) 23:57, March 16, 2012 (UTC)TurboTwistedFire
If my memory doesn't totally screw me over, you even get to fight these larva things...Noctarius (talk) 00:04, March 17, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, you fight quite a lot of them. Hopefully we'll see some of them again. I LOVE learning about the Darkspawn. I really missed them in Dragon Age II.--Turbotwistedfire (talk) 00:53, March 17, 2012 (UTC)
I really hate the Darkspawn in DA:II, they looked more like undead than corrupted men and dwarves. Hurlocks in particular looked like Skeletor from He-Man. The art direction is definitely misguided. Whocares65 (talk) 06:08, March 17, 2012 (UTC)
I agree. Some of them were even wearing hats. Hats! Let's hope they fix that in DA3. >.< Bring back how they looked in Origins. They use to freak me out! --98.151.222.92 (talk) 07:26, March 17, 2012 (UTC)
