Yo, So DAO we had tactical game, with DA 2 we had ; i really do not know how to describe it; with inquisition we have a single player mmo.

Really why they have to change how the game feels, Assasin creed despite having so many sequels it feels the same, they just add and remove something but the core stays the same. With Dragon age , they the core of the game everytime, you may say it is a good thing.

It would be a good thing, if they improve and not rework the gameplay.

Dragon age 2 is often called dragon effect, since it is more simillar to Mass effect then DAO, but at least i could feel that i am a refugee.

In DAI i really cannot feel that i am that elf, human, quanari or dwarf since there is no prologue, not backstory to my characters.

I say this all the time and i will say it once more, why people want to fix something that isn't broken.

I'm fine with Inquisition. It's a gameplay improvement over DA2 and Origins, and it's a story improvement over DA2. Also, I disagree with your opinion about Assassin's Creed. I feel like the series peaked with AC:Brotherhood, and the priority of every game after that has been Ubisoft's profit instead of fun or story. It was especially bad with AC3 since some of text for optional objectives actually conflicted with your main objective; it makes you wonder if the game was actually play-tested. 12.146.29.230 (talk) 16:36, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

I actually agree with the OP about not feeling like an elf or dwarf or qunari out of lack of prologue. When the protagonist gains the mark then technically no longer belongs to the Carta, Valo-kas mercenary company, the elven clan or templar recruits or mage delegation. In Mass Effect Shepard had also no prologue like the Warden but at least the commander had personal quests. Back to the Inquisitor they are branded as herald of Andraste even if they don't believe in her. With such religious society its unbelievable people give that title to someone who isn't their kind. Another thing is as a non-human I feel no connection to any conflict in the game. Inhuman Inquisitors don't have much in common with the mage rebellion because they are mages as Dalish care for Dalish only and vashoth are merely mercenaries loyal only to those who pay them. Only human Inquisitors can truely feel connected to mages or templars because they are one of them. All Inquisitors are from Free Marches and fight on foreign lands Ferelden and Orlais for noth their cause despite no personal motivation. Dwarves are smugglers and qunari are mercenaries in wrong time and wrong place forced to be part of conflict they had absolutelly nothing in common. I already made a forum about title of herald bothering me as non-human. Dalish Inquisitors become a leaders of an organisation made by their natural enemies humans and why should they even care about humans? So much power is given to nobody. In original concept the Inquisitor was supposed to be only a human and with so few differences in story because of different race I think the developers should stay with the original idea.Andrzej.lewinski.351 (talk) 17:05, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

Inquisition does a much better job of acknowledging the protagonist as a non-human than Origins does, but I agree with your overall point. The Inquisitor feels shallow and impersonal even as a human. This is the game's biggest weakness. The Inquisition is the star of the show and the Inquisitor is just a set piece. That would be fine for a strategy game, but Inquisition is an RPG. But at least the Inquisitor has more personality than an Elder Scrolls protagonist. Not that that's a high bar, but when I first heard that Bioware was looking at the ES series while making Inquisition, I was worried something like that might happen. The Inquisitor receives letters from their former associates but I simply don't feel like talking to them. I wish I could meet them. Also if the game had prologues like Origins we can imagine pictures based on desciptions of races. I will admit this is what I miss in Origins the most.Andrzej.lewinski.351 (talk) 18:33, March 16, 2015 (UTC)

I have been playing Inquisition for about a week and I can easily say its richer in content then both games before it, that being said I still thing Origins was the better game but Origins is a very high mark to beat, it was Bioware's grand slam and its always hard for sequels to match the original.

The for all the content they put into this game, it would have been nice if they did more to get you into the skin of your character. As it stands. it doesnt matter what race or class you play, all NPCs respond to you in almost identical fashion, with only a few minor changes in dialog depending if you are male or female or mage or not ect. otherwise every NPC always says the same exact thing to you.

Having a prolog for each character would have been nice but it might have clashed with their dramatic opening, so faling to have a prolog, they should have done more to flesh out your character through dialog. For example; I am currently playing a human mage and during one of my conversations with Josephine, she asks about my family and I have a number of options to select on how they feel about me. I really wish they had done a lot more with that during the beginning of the game, Have each NPC ask about you and give you a number of options to respond. It would be a nice change since by default you are forever asking NPCs about thier history...would be nice if the shoe was on the other foot.

I agree bro, while Inquisition left me wanting to know more and play more with my original character I feel that the origin of my char is not explained that much... I had to think a lot as to why my char was in the conclave and explain a lot of things. I keep going back to Believe it's post about the original character being a Human Male Mage so I guess that's what I'll play next and play to god I get it right this time.--DaveManiac3 15:39, March 17, 2015 (UTC)
Dramatic opening would be no problem after prologue of the Inquisitor. Still there would be a sudden explosion in Haven and the Inquisitor would wake up in cell to hear what happened. Something similar happened to the Warden in Ostagar Tower. We didn't see Flemeth turning into a giant bird and saving the last 2 grey wardens but we heard that from Morrigan.Andrzej.lewinski.351 (talk) 18:33, March 17, 2015 (UTC)

The first character I drafted up was actually Quinari because I thought it would be really cool to learn about them from first person perspective. Then you realise they start you off as Tal'Vashoth, conveniently cutting your character off from knowing anything about their culture. It quickly became boring at I realised that there was no special dialog for different races and all the choices offered were identical. I quickly gave up that character and started a human mage as I felt it would make the most sense for them to get into the roll of being the Herald. When speaking to Josephine, you can remark how religious your family is; this made perfect sense for my character to believe they were the Herald. Lines like that however sound very strange when coming from a Quinari or Dwarf or Dalish elf. I understand they put a tremendous amount into this game and having dozens of different dialogs for all the different characters would have probably doubled the production cost of the game but as it stands now, the amazing game play and visuals just make the one dimensional character choices stand out as extra flat.

That's the issue, when you get into PMI you see things a lot different, because you've gotta be careful about costs and other stuff. So sounds like this guys are assholes but they are not, they gotta think a lot about stuff that might sent costs, time and profit thought the roof. Remember companies are not there to make us happy they need to make money, so with that in mind you've gotta see every choice.--DaveManiac3 16:42, March 17, 2015 (UTC)
Of course, let's pretend it makes some sense put boring exploration in huge areas instead of real content. If they made the areas 10x smaller with 10x less stupid shallow quests you could have a lot more REAL content. DAO is better, but of course even DA2 is better, I'd take dungeon recycling over empty giant maps any day. This game is just the biggest error in human kind, I'm sad that I will have to "pause" my hating on it because I will be playing the godlike Pillars of Eternity and later Sword Coast Legends. PoE is a real RPG with STATS, that are all that matter in a RPG game, and also NO IMBECILE ACTION. TRUE RPG, not this Mario Age: Inquisition Creed bullshit. 187.114.26.153 (talk) 12:50, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
hey there Rao... Se talked about this before so please shut up and go bother your mom--DaveManiac3 13:03, March 19, 2015 (UTC)
I agree with Dupmeister that human Inquisitor makes more sense than other races especially when they have different religion. The developers put the efforts in designing locations but they lacked time for better construction of the story or cloth designs. I understand that profit is a priority of every company as Dave The Maniac said.Andrzej.lewinski.351 (talk) 18:33, March 17, 2015 (UTC)
