I dont know which one gives the most, i am always approx level 6 when i arrive in lothering(all rogue origins and warrior dwaf noble origin). A guess is that the rogue mgiht have en advantage because of the lockpicking talent. PeterR 17:53, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

I don't think Rogues level up that much faster then a Warrior during most Origins, per se. In fact from what I have seen in the various Origins is that locked boxes might give you 5-10xp. Considering how many boxes there are in each Origin (up to Ostagar), a Warrior might have to kill 3 darkspawn to be equal with a Rogue in XP. I think most of the Origins are designed to get you to level 3 and then some. But level 4... I think thats what the Darkspawn blood quest is for (lets face, you'll get about 10 of the vials before you get anywhere near the chest) Madasamadthing 18:07, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

I didn't say much faster, but the rogue has an advantage no matter what compared to the warrior 1000xp<1010xp, so the warrior is definately behind the rogue, the rogue is a head of the warrior and mage the whole game unless a warrior character uses some xp exploit. This doesn't rule out the mage origiin being the one that gives most xp until ostagar. PeterR 20:17, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

::When comparing the dwarf noble/rogue to the city elf/rogue, the city elf would get Leliana and Sten when they are at level 8, instead of level 7. Alistair and the Mabari were level 4 and 7 in both cases, but other future party members might also be of a higher level.

I realize this discussion is only about exp, but there are benefits from other origins. If you do the Dhalish Elf, you start with complete suit of Dahlish armor (+2 Dex, +Def). If you are unscrupulous, you can strip origin companions of Trevintor Robes and another set of Dhalish armor. While Morrigan does not look nearly as good in it, the +5 spell power, + manna regen, etc. is pretty awesome! Folnar 07:39, May 4, 2010 (UTC)

I dont think the Dwaren commoner is the winner, i have very recently finished a rogue commoner origin and i think ti was a little bit behind. # Folner you make a good point about the Dalish, i always use dalish armor until i Wades superioer drakescale armor. so what origin provides most xp? and is it possible to get lvl 4 before speaking to alistair first time. i have tried to do this dozen times and never succeeded once i was missing 250xp...

And some more questions how much xp can you collect from ostagar before talking to alistair i know that talking to jory and daveth can provide something like 300xp but does anything else give xp?

As far as I know the best origin for XP is magi.Tetracycloide 17:13, April 17, 2010 (UTC)

After entering Ostagar the first time (xp amount toward level 4):
City elf/rogue: 2225xp
City elf/warrior 1976xp
Dwarf noble/rogue: 1286xp (didn't get all the kills)
Dwarf noble/fighter: 1154xp
Dwarf commoner/rogue: 222xp !!! (didn't get all the kills)
Dwarf commoner/warrior ?
Dalish elf/rogue: ?
Dalish elf/warrior: ?
Human/warrior: ?
Human rogue: ?
Circle mage: 2034xp (didn't get all the kills)
It might not seem like much, but it will make a difference.
When comparing the dwarf noble/rogue to the city elf/rogue, the city elf would get Leliana and Sten when they are at level 8, instead of level 7. Alistair and the Mabari were level 4 and 7 in both cases, but other future party members might also be of a higher level.
