Forums: Index > Game DiscussionWhat are you most excited about in DA III?

Instead of bashing DA III and arguing whether it will be any good. What are you anticipating most with the upcoming game, or excited to see? Only positive responses please, the negative comments (fears) can be shared on the other forums.

For me I’m excited to see the direction they are going to take with the story arch. There are so many possibilities for BioWare to take, and I for one am anxious to see what direction they choose to go in. I’m also very anxious to see the castle building portion of the game. I’m hoping it will be something like Awakening’s Vigil’s Keep and Assassin’s Monteriggioni with BioWare twists. I think this will work well in Orlais, since they have traditional Feudal society. I’m also excited to see the customization options that will be available to us for our companions and our PC, along with what specializations will be available to us in DA III.--Gutbuster66 (talk) 14:09, October 22, 2012 (UTC)

I'm looking forward to specializations that make a difference to the story, i was wondering why my companions weren't telling me off for using blood magic --Halisme (talk) 16:04, October 22, 2012 (UTC)

I'm looking forward to seeing Bioware making a Bioware game instead of an EA game. And while I'm looking forward to impossible things, I'm also looking forward to getting a million dollar check in the mail and quitting my current job and never having to work again from proper investments of said million dollars. :P Hitokiri Akins (talk) 16:15, October 22, 2012 (UTC)

this doesn't seem very positive....
Really, unsigned poster? Because that's the most positive thing I can think of at this point. I'm excited that Bioware seems to be attempting to make a Bioware game with it's attempt at a multi-origin character, and the idea of building a castle, but I can't get too excited because of the presence of EA in the equation, because they are like the darkspawn; they taint everything they touch.
Because of the Mass Effect Extended Cut DLC and the Leviathan DLC, I'm cautiously optimistic about DA3, but I can't get too excited about any game Bioware makes because of EA's history with other companies they bought into the mix. Hitokiri Akins (talk) 12:38, October 23, 2012 (UTC)

anyway, I am actually super excited for multiplayer! I loved mass effect 3's multiplayer, though it did get a bit repetitive. I have always day dreamed about what it would be like to play my warden along side some of my friends wardens... would we be a good team, would we even get along??? it will be nice to at least play a game that we all love, with my friends. What am I not excited about? It's gonna kick some serious ass.--R0B45 (talk) 07:18, October 23, 2012 (UTC)

I'm really looking forward to the multiple origins and them actually having a notable effect during the game. If they are made well, it will be what the DAO origins should have been and will effect the entire game to a larger degree, rather than effect just the beginning. Plus I'm simply excited to see in which direction the overall storylines go. Can't say say much more with the few scraps of information we have. -- Gissur the Sailor (talk) 15:08, October 23, 2012 (UTC)

I like that we'll have the option of keeping them with a specific look, changing it with unique items, or equipping the items while keeping the look. No more being OCD about an outfit not fitting their personality anymore (like in Origins) or being stuck with one-ish look (like DA2). Though Varric's longcoat was pretty pimping. I want my character to get one too.

Maybe we'll be able to customize muscle size à la skyrim ?? That would certainly be a nice little addition ? Nomad007 (talk)

I'm hopeful about getting a castle. I assume that means we'll have a party camp again, and what I really want is for that to mean that we'll be able to have more than two conversations with our companions every few hours. I missed being able to talk to the companions whenever I wanted- asking Leliana what she knew of the area, having my dog find stuff, stopping to kiss whichever Warden I was playing's love interest. Sure DA2 had more/longer companion quests, but you barely get to talk to them and that damn wheel (and its terrible paraphrasing) made it a lot harder to actually learn anything about them.

I'm also hoping that the Mage-Templar war is one of the storylines that they will be bringing to a close. I thought it was interesting early on, but I got pretty sick of it by the end of DA2. Mostly because there were only like 3 (at most) characters on either side that I could sympathize with- and dozens of crazy/terrible people filling out the rest of the game.--Liam Sionnach (talk) 20:54, October 23, 2012 (UTC)

Um, romancing Cassandra is on the top of my list. Oh and hopefully being a badass motherfucker inquisitor. 203.45.127.20 (talk) 04:11, October 24, 2012 (UTC)Darkside
