I'm curious as to what you're apprehensive about when it comes to Dragon Age 2. For me, it's the dialogue wheel. Many times in Mass Effect what my Shepherd actually said bore little or no relation to the dialogue option I chose. It got so bad that I eventually started picking dialogue options at random. Hopefully the improvements like the icons will help with that. I will miss being able to pick dialogue options using the keyboard. Gruedragon (talk) 21:13, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

While I like the idea of Varric telling the story, I'm worried there may be too many instances that he exaggerates, to the point where we're playing basically the same thing twice too often. I hope they were careful with this and that the story doesn't feel too broken up, since they said he'll skip over parts where nothing significant happened (ex. a few months later). Not sure if that makes sense, but I'm both concerned and excited for the story presentation. I can do nothing but trust Bioware at this point. XIII Lightning (talk) 21:20, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

I'm worried that the artwork will seem too stark all the time. I'm also worried that mages won't be as strong as they used to be. -Orson Hawke

I don't like the idea of someone telling my story and me just jumping in on bits and making some choices. I hate movies/books or games that start in the present and work from the past. Would you like it if someone came into your life and told you how things ended then started telling you how it happed from the past on. I mean what if your life skipped the "boring" parts of your life, would it in the end feel like it was complete? No it'd feel incomplete and unreal. Bio better prove me wrong for the love of all that is right cause this whole form they are coming from has me a bit worried. --Biosoul (talk) 21:44, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

The DAMN over exaggerated amount of DLC and promotional stuff. Why BECAUSE I CAN'T GET GET THEM!!! Sorry it just really puts my panties into a twist. I miss the good old days where developers would cram as much content as possible in a game.--The Grey Hawke (talk) 21:48, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Yea that's so they can get more money for each game than just the 59.99 or w.e it may cost, they can easily add most of the dlc they add onto the release disk. But how would they get more money for doing that? They want to charge more money for games that they already do, this is their way of doing it but saying "It's your choice to buy it." Knowing full well you want the complete feeling of the game and how can that happen without all the game content. I feel your pain. --Biosoul (talk) 21:53, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

I'm going be in depth and hopefully impartial with questions I have. Sorry for the book... The following: -The ME2 style shift- Are we playing an action RPG, or a real RPG? -The character shift- I've never been sold on Hawke. Creating our characters in nearly every way meant we invested more in them. Now they're mostly created for us. I'm having trouble making the connection. For instance, I like ME's Shepard, but he's just Shepard. Another character. I don't own him the same way. It's not personal anymore. -Oversimplification- see above, related to style shift. The sheer volume of options in Origins made it a 9/10 outright, from our characters to the massive amount of weapons/armor etc and our ability to use them as we saw fit. Will DA2 have this? It does not seem so. Much has been left out. Is that worse? I have no idea. We'll see. -The story- I'm not as concerned about this really, it is bioware, but a seemingly massive shift can sometimes backfire. I doubt it, and commend them for taking the leap, but it's also risky in some ways. Plus, if the above issues are even a minor factor, the story then becomes much, much, much more important. I felt ME2 was dumbed down a bit too far from an RPG standpoint, with far less options, but the story blew any concerns away. Can this be duplicated? Should it be? -classes- I'm seriously gonna miss a DW warrior. -weapons- 2 Handed weapons look a bit too unrealistic. Okay, more than a bit. I can get by this though. -Companions- I rather like what I've seen so far, which is really not much, but I still worry they won't evoke the reactions that Morrigan and Alistair did, depending on your gender. They were epic companions. And the others were all very well done, though a few could have been explored better. With an ME switch/dialogue wheel, I'm concerned we won't be talking with them as much, thus relationships and such will be more implied and not acted out. I'm not overly concerned here though (bioware). ---That said, I'm just now starting to get anxious and excited, and greatly looking forward to it.The Grey Unknown (talk) 22:12, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

I'm not being critical of your question; I'm just really curious because of how many times I've seen this issue raised. You mentioned your concerns about the Hawke character. What does the problem come down to for you? You can give him/her a first name, but the last name is the same--no change from DAO there. Looks? Fully customizable, like DAO (Although BioWare's trailers make you think of Hawke as that bearded guy, you can change genders and appearance.) Personality? Just as open, maybe more so. Origins story? Obviously there's only one choice, not five, so that's really different. (I'd like to point out that the subtitle of the first game was "Origins." BioWare probably only wanted the first game that way; I bet they never intended to make a franchise filled with games that allow you to pick from a bunch of origin stories.) Is it the voice? That is a significant change. Almost everything else is just superficial; in other words, it appears to be a problem or a change from DAO, but it's actually not very different. I think Hawke's voice and "origin" are the only features that aren't customizable. Although...if you're really worried, someone could probably make a mod to just mute Hawke and skip over the places he'd talk. Then you could have your silent DAO companion back.  :) Skahaggus7 (talk) 23:51, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Different Origins getting preferential treatment in the reference department. Not to mention the effectiveness of the Friendship/Rivalry path. It still seems like metagaming if you only keep saying yes or keep saying no to someone. Finally I don't approve of the potential of an only rivalry romance if it turns out to be the truth instead of a rumor.--TheGreyestWarden (talk) 22:31, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

I agree with The Grey Unknown with The Hawke point, it does not really feel like it will be my own Hawke. I like most of the things they've done like The conversation wheel with things like flirt angry etc. I'm a bit worried it won't match up to the warden's achievements even though they say he will be the most important person in DA, I mean come on the warden ended a blight almost single handedly, ended a civil war, then ended another darkspawn incursion, then found out the secrets of amgarrak and then found Morrigan with little more than 2 people and a dog. how can someone top that! ?? I quite like the re-appearance of Anders/Justice. I'm also a bit worried of The Darkspawn graphics. Thats about it really. Daggers End (talk) 22:52, February 21, 2011 (UTC)

Besides my loathing for Bioware/EA milking, i am mostly worried about the content of the game, lasting appeal and how much replay value it has (replay value and lasting appeal have become a must for me nowadays. I love dissida) besides that yes, i do agree with grey unknown i am still not sold on hawke, i am mostly indifferent to him but still i probably wouldn't get attached to him as much as i got attached to a character i created from scratch (Skyrim will please here) plus it feels too much like mass effect. Let's hope we won't be seeing hawke in DA3.--The Grey Hawke (talk) 23:44, February 21, 2011 (UTC)
