Thanks guys! Keep up the advice, as I'm looking over all of it. I think I will be going with Leliana, just so I have a lockpicker, Or Shale to make my mages unkillable, if that is even a word. I have the Dog as a 5th party member anyways, so in the end I'll have all 3 mages as Blood Mage with their own specializations and make the Warden an Arcane Warrior. So I'll have 7-9 party members and all the havoc I can bring. Go Barkspawn! Go animated corpses! Go random wolf! Be our fodder!!!!! Maybe your mage can focus more on mind control. I think that you can change his or her tactics to controller. RhiannonCousland

Okay, So for my next playthrough I am doing a female elf mage. I want to do a triple mage party this time, but i am unsure about a few things. In Origins, Wynne will be a healer and support, Morrigan will be Blood/Shift fighter, and the same thing with Anders and Velenna respectively. I am unsure about what the Warden should do/be, who I should have for my 4th member, and a name for a dark mage. I would appreciate help, and in return, cookies! Neo Nsran (talk) 22:04, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

Yay Cookies *-*. Well you could use the 4th slot with a tanker or with a 2handed-sword guy,i don't know if it'll be good have a rogue, and i'm not sure which one choose since i don't play too much with mages, as for the specializations.. perhaps Arcane Warrior+Healer or Blood Mage? Or you could save the point for the awakening's specializations. As for the name.... what about 'Montriox'? --Hyron (talk) 22:25, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

Shale she is awesome, the perfect tank good for squashing and then you would have an all female party "The Fire Sisters" or perhaps in France "Elles fille l'ardeur". What should your warden be? she should be an Arcane Warrior tank-mode; and your team slogan would "Do you like playing with fire?" -rphb- (talk) 22:33, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah Shale is a very good Tanker(best in the beginning), Alistair is also good, but he's extremely weak at the beginning, so you should try get Shale ASAP. --Hyron (talk) 22:40, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

Specializations aside you want to split your 3 mages into 1 healer/buffer(Spirit healer - wynne) 1 Crowd Controler(bloodmage) and 1 Damager(Arc warrior). Then Shale if you want a seperate tank or Leli if you want a Rogue. Pesonally i'd take Leli and make my pc Mage an AW/BM then stand in the middle of storm of the century while Morri Sleeps/Paralyzes everything around me. Out of the 12 Characters me and my Momma are running through DAO, 4 of them are Female Mages and for the fourth member we switch out the other party members to accompany us as we go through gathering our army. So, I would say it is a matter of taste. Anya (talk)00:44, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

How would your character be able to survive being in the middle of a Storm of the Century? Do you play at easy level, for then your just lame -rphb- (talk) 08:08, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Force Field -Vim- (talk) 13:33, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
And constant healing ;P AbrasaxDrake (talk) 19:48, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

That would be an interesting way to kill the party, a tripple storm of the century. Anyway a triple mage party with an arcane warrior tank might be able to work. The fourth partymember should be rogue to have someone pick the locks and pockets. --PeterR (talk) 08:53, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

a 3 mage party member will be a bit hard because you will need to decide on who you will need to bring for you 4th party. If you bring a tank the enermy will go to them but then you also need a rouge to pick locks. But i guess what you could do is go threw a level with your tank then go back with your rouge so s/he can pick the locks. PinkOldShoes (talk) 13:42 09/08/2010

Triple mage party is one of the easier combinations to win at nightmare level. If one of your mages has the arcane warrior spec and is geared up to be a tank, then you can use your last slot on Leliana for lock-picking/archery. If not, then you'll need a tank such as Alistair or Shale more than a rogue. -Vim- (talk) 13:32, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Can you really call it a triple-mage party if you have one of them acting as a tank/melee monster? I think three spirit healer/blood mages could tear it up by themselves. If all three have animate dead, they can practically double their number in warriors anyway. DokEnkephalin (talk) 13:41, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

In terms of combat, in Origins atleast, I think a three mage party, with properly balanced talents, will be able to manage crowds and tough bosses all breezily. Just make the fourth member a decent tank, like a shield and sword warrior. I haven't tried it on nightmare level, but on hard, I was able to mow through enemies with Alister as tank. Three mages do a lot of damage. Infact AFAIK they are the config capable of doing most damage, though you'll need to micromanage a lot.IP no. 59.95.169.10 (talk) 13:53, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

I think you should just have yourself as an AW/BM with Morrigin as a Shifter/SH and Alister as the Templer/Beserker tank. Instead of Wynne you should have Leliana as a Bard/Ranger so she can pick locks and summon animals. Also, Morrigin should have animate dead so you can have a 6 person party XD- yash7

With a Bard/Ranger you have your requisite lockpicker and a mighty good tank; the Blight Wolf gets ridiculously high defense, almost as many knockdown/stun attacks as Alistair, he can cover the battlefield much quicker than any character, and he doesn't cost a member slot like Dog. This gives the equivalent of an 8-man party overall, with lots of expendable meatshields, all of them beefed up to ludicrous with Courage and the various buffing spells. DokEnkephalin (talk) 17:22, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

I ijust started a new file where i am a ranger/bard and i have a brserker/templer alister and a ranger/bard leliana and a morrigin shifter/SH with animate dead so i end up hving 7 party mems when Lelina, Morrigin and i summon together which made the battle with the Archdeamon much easier. Also song of courage from both bards helps alot!- yash7

This may be slightly off-topic, but I just wondered - do you actually need a rogue in your party? I mean, yes, you would have a lot less money to spend and would miss out on a lot of nice stuff if you did not, but it is really necessary to have one or could you skip out on everything that is locked and still complete the game? --Boise66 (talk) 20:10, August 9, 2010 (UTC)
Wha..? "Do you need a rogue --" How dare you, sir? How DARE YOU! DokEnkephalin (talk) 20:50, August 9, 2010 (UTC)

Actually if one of the Mages has Open Lock Spells you do not ever need a Rouge in your party again. Anya (talk)03:15, August 10, 2010 (UTC)
