Is there anyway to get rid of the plus sign next to the small avitar on Shale and the Dog? I am at level 24 and have 2 points that I cant spend so it always has that flashing annoying plus? Please help if possible!!

Indeed it will stay on the dog and shale because they dont have as many talents as the rest of the group so once you hit 22 (I think) all points are extra and you cant clear the *annoying* flashing plus and I use shale alot. oh well I am getting used to it.

Little piece of tape on the screen right there? ;-) *Sorry!* - Davinator 05:01, January 19, 2010 (UTC)

During a battle that occurs with all your other party members not travelling with you during the Final Battle, I noticed Wynne, Alistair, and Dog had the plus signs. As I had not used them through the game except where forced, they had XPs that needed spending. Dog had a pile of talent points that there actually weren't enough talents for, so I was left with the plus sign even after I selected all of Dog's possible talents. From everything I tried I think you are right, there may be nothing that can be done to get rid of the flashing plus signs. - Davinator 06:46, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

Maybe I should start a separate topic for this, but there is an occasion in the game where you are in a battle with all your party members. Are you at a distinct disadvantage if you never spend their extra points? The other characters aren't under your control; they just help fight. (Note: I have not finished the game entirely. Not to spoil anything, but my occasion in question is before the Landsmeet, involving a throng of Shrieks.) --68.44.58.137 20:46, January 21, 2010 (UTC)

As someone else posted here about Dog and Shale not having as much to spend points on as other characters, you'd likely not be losing anything, as those characters will be at the best they can be. As for shrieks, they are vulnerable to cold damage, whether it's from your mage spells, ice arrows, or frost runes on a weapon (or the spell Frosted Weapons). Because they are fast and stealthy, you're liable to end up with a group of them around you. Bear in mind if your level is high enough, they will stun as a result of War Cry, Mind Blast, or Dog's equivalent. - Davinator 11:48, January 22, 2010 (UTC)
