So I just finished reading the second issue of the Silent Grove and man is it getting good. I'm irritated that it's a bi-weekly comic lol. Anyways, my suspicions of Maric being alive past when it was said he died was right. Now I don't know if the man in the prison at the end of the comic was Maric but I always knew he didn't die at sea. It just seemed like an unjust end for such a great character. At the same time it makes me sad to know such a good person spent such a long time in that hell hole with no hope of ever leaving. With the way things ended I think Maric is probably dead which sucks because I've always wanted Alistair to meet Maric as they are so similar that I'd think they would get along very well. After reading this comic, now I'm 100% sure that Alistair is going to find out who his mother is and it'll finally end all of that speculation. So what did you guys think of issue 2? I thought the issue was a good one, especially the art. It's so nice getting to see fresh environments for a change! I agree that Maric's death had always seemed... unfortunate. I've been certain from the get-go that this comic would prove that Alistair's mommy is an elf, and it looks like we'll finally get our proof. Rathian Warrior (talk) 15:02, March 7, 2012 (UTC)

Loved this issue, and my heart jumped at the surprise ending. Like you two, I always thought there was something fishy about Maric's death, though I thought he was being held in an Orlesian prison in the Free Marches. I'm not sure how to interpret the line, "You're too late." Does it mean that Maric is dead? Has been moved? Or that even if Alistair breaks him out the damage has already been done? Like everyone else I had a feeling Maric was still alive... At the end of this issue I believe the man inside the cell is indeed Maric. When he says "You're too late" I think he is meaning that his mind is almost gone basically. It is Maric but his mind is barely there. That is my opinion at least. Same here. I bought issue 1 for my iphone but bought issue 2 on the computer, I logged out and back in to Dark Horse on my phone and issue 2 was on my bookshelf. King Cousland | Talk   23:36, March 7, 2012 (UTC)
