No, no. You aren't alone, I liked Sten too. But I think Bioware want to move away from all of the old characters. They already have Anders, Isabela and Merrill coming back, it wouldn't make sense to be bringing all of the characters from Origins back. Besides, Bioware have said that new players who haven't played Origins but will play Dragon Age 2 will be ok, and that DA2 is a good opening to the story, so it would be pretty confusing if they brought a lot of the old characters in. I'm actually so annoyed at BioWare. I can understand why they didn't want some of the less liked characters (Sten, Leliana.. etc) but Isabela doesn't even look remotely the same as she did before. Also it's really annoying how they've dubbed it down for new players. It doesn't even seem like a RPG now, just a Action where everything is laid out in front of you. I'm glad they've redesigned Isabela tbh, for some sort of "hawt" pirate woman, she seemed awefully plain before, and not at all pirate looking. However, now she actually looks like a pirate, which is what she is supposed to be. Would have been nice if towards the end of the game, further on in the 10 year timeline, Sten made a little cameo in the Invasion of Kirkwall. Actually, I think originally, DA:O was more to introduce the world as a stand alone game with no planned follow up games. It's not like ME where they had planned 3 games when the first game came out. That means they are making DA 2 with no connection at all really to DA:O other than a few storied things like who you picked to be king. Sadly that also means characters in DA:O are not going to nessisarily going to show up in DA 2 :/ Xorander (talk) 00:30, February 26, 2011 (UTC)
Actually, I looked at the PC Gamer review thingy, and one of the pictures is of a male Hawke fighting...... a Qunari with the name Sten!

Bringing Sten back for DA2 would cheapen his character and the interaction that we had with him in DA:O. Plus I believe that there is a practical reason that we do not see Sten (or other hornless Qunari for that matter), in that his model would need a overhaul to better fit with the new art direction. If anything, if we saw him in DA3 he would likely have a much bigger role than if he appeared in DA2 as a cameo refrence. Balitant (talk) 02:01, February 26, 2011 (UTC)

And to clarify, the rank/title of the qunari you are thinking of (red armor, I am assuming that is the one you mean) is Arishok. He also has really big horns, so unless the Sten we know has some really strong glue its not him. Balitant (talk) 02:24, February 26, 2011 (UTC)
I'm definitely a Sten fan. I guess I have divided feelings about how DA2 would be if Sten were a major character. You kind of have to set the plot aside since Sten would probably be your enemy; he wouldn't betray his people, and the qunari apparently invade sometime. Sure, BioWare could work around that, but it wouldn't feel genuine. Regardless of that, I have to agree with Balitant. Sten wouldn't feel as great if he got pulled into DA2 after everything in DA:O; it would cheapen who he is. His awesomeness would be compromised. But...who knows about DA3? or DA4?
