Introductions[]

So yeah, we kinda derailed that Keep Blog, so why not continue the banter here! I, Sir Lazare of Antiva challenge you all to sustain this forum up until the release date of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Come knights, Rshep, SMK, BSST, Super, Dave, AC, Darion, and the whole lot of you, come along, join us in the shadows. Oh and Xsari, Kelcat, Cheddar, you are all welcome. If you guys want to invite more knights, do so now!!!

Banter

Rules:

  • Let's be polite to our fellow warriors in arms
  • Bring on the DA banter
  • This area is like a sketch. So add a subtitle to add your own little banter sketch, and we'd all maybe join in?

Oh, Flemeth according to SMK has done something with Pokemon or something. It sounded very dangerous. Lazare326 13:12, September 4, 2014 (UTC)

Fresh Start[]

The rose begins its new monthly cycle. With Inquisition releasing, I thought it'd be convenient. Lazare326 00:01, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Its Been a Long Journey[]

It took three years and a long delay but Dragon Age Inquisition. We got playable races back and a great main cast. To think, if this came was out last year, we would be stuck with humans again.

Tomorrow, will be officially the end of this long wait. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 00:06, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Speak for yourself, some of us have to wait until the 20th.

Some mood music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQDs5P42MNg Amazon's shipping my Deluxe Edition, it'll be here probably at 8 PM (damn UPS routes in my part of NJ...), I'll probably get a shiny new DualShock 4 to commemorate the occasion (after a year the first one's gotten worn down, the Inquisition deserves better). Please see my Rousing Speech in the third archive for my feelings on this whole journey. RShepard227 (talk) 04:13, November 18, 2014 (UTC)

Can't wait! Lazare326 02:10, November 19, 2014 (UTC)

It'll be out tomorrow! Yay! *Insert maniacal laugh here* Edit: Got it! From tomorrow onwards: good bye world! :D Saba0th (talk) 15:57, November 20, 2014 (UTC)

Coming Home[]

So just finished my first playthrough Dragon Age: Inquisition and it was fun. Had a lot of "Oh Fuck" moments. Especially with Flemeth, but those are spoilers and I'd rather not ruin anyone's experience with the game. So I've been pulling all nighters for the past three days and haven't even touched my laptop. This brings me to the question, where is everyone? I see no hide nor tail of my friends. Xsari, Laz, AC, Dave, HD3 not even Cheese and I always see cheddar. Shep, I believe, is taking care of the other wiki, but what of this one? Where did all the people go and why are there so many new ones? I see names of people I don't recognize and I feel like I've come back only to find everything rearranged. Perhaps I'm just the first one back after their black out. Perhaps you will all return soon and I won't be alone. In either case have fun with the game, it's quiet the ride. B.S.S.T. (talk) 17:52, November 24, 2014 (UTC)

Its ok I guess i dont count anymore sigh now I go jump...Star Metal Knight (talk) 15:51, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Your not alone Bro I'm here. Lt's been lonely for me as well. Their aren't as many of the crew currently on at the moment. How did you like the game? Do you think it is better, or on par with DAO? Have Bioware redeemed themselve from the fans whineings of DA2(Even though I enjoy 2. I don't think it's as good as DAO, but I still like it)? Well I hope this responce helps you feel not as alone here knowing that at least on of the normal crew is still around.(Darion Cousland (talk) 18:15, November 24, 2014 (UTC))

Oh I could hug you right now! I've so missed talking with my Dragon Age friends. The game was well enough. I think it did it's job of putting hope in Bioware again. It was a good game, but I did not enjoy all that much. I kept getting this lingering feeling that I wasn't playing a Dragon Age game, but an open world game masquerading as Dragon Age. There were times when I felt I was playing Dragon Age, but for the most part it wasn't like DA: O to me, it was too different. Despite my feelings, I do believe that this game is the sequel Origins deserved, while DA2 was the sequel it needed to progress and fill in the blanks. I'll play the game more and try to enjoy it, but for the most part the atmosphere is my biggest disappointment. Have you touched the game yet? What were your thoughts on it? B.S.S.T. (talk) 18:24, November 24, 2014 (UTC)

I have not gotten the chance to play it myself yet(My PS3 broke long story), but my friend is getting on the Xbox360, and said he will let me play it when he gets it. I have been waching playthroughs to hold me over till then. From what your saying, and from what I have seen it seems like it was a little too influenced by Skyrim. I love Skyrim as well as Dragon Age, so this most likely won't bother me, but I can understand why some people don't like that. Skyrim simply is not everyone's cup of tea. At least I know that the open world is side by side with a well writen story. Where as Skyrim is really empty in the story department. I think that DAI lookes great, and I can't wait to play it I have at leasted 9 playthroughs planed. Most people that are giving any negative feed back are doing so because of combat. What would you rate the game as far as a 1 out of 10 is concerned? Most of the rateings I had seen from Game Informer, and people like them were giving it a 9.5 out of 10. Also do you think it's good enough for Bioware to win any awards for it? (Darion Cousland (talk) 19:14, November 24, 2014 (UTC))

Personally from my experience with the series, I'd give it a solid 8.5 (totally influenced by Grey here :P). It was good, the combat was nice, the tactical camera was helpful, the story had amazing points of interest, especially with Blackwall's companion mission, that shit was intense! However I don't love it like I did DA: O and DA2. I don't love it at all right now, but I think if I keep trying it it'll grow on me, just like DA2 did. What I really miss though is hearing Florence and the Machine after the game ended. That song in the credits of DA2 was my favorite part of the game and it set the scene so well for future games. It was sad to see that Inquisition had no such song. Littles things are missed much in this game. Still though it's good and I think most people will enjoy it. Can't wait to hear what Xsari, Laz, AC and the others think of it. B.S.S.T. (talk) 19:25, November 24, 2014 (UTC)

Hey, good to see people returning! It felt so lonely here. I'm just at the beggining of the Hinterlands, so, can't say too much about the game. From what I've heard and read, it kicks in some hours in, is that true? I'm thinking of abandoning my current character (Male Qunari Warrior; there's no "Hellboy" beard and I so wanted it :P) and starting anew, not really comfortable playing male characters. Or maybe it's the voice. The American one. I don't like it very much. As for the Wiki, AC and Laz were here for some time, discussing the implications of the post-credits scene. I saw RShep add tactics for the Pride Demon fight in The Wrath of Heaven. My guess is they're still playing. Myself, I've been around here, mostly helping people with technical problems ("will this game run on my rig?","game crashes - help me!") and reverting vandalism. Saw lots of new users come, some not here to help the wiki. Saba0th (talk) 21:33, November 24, 2014 (UTC)

I've noticed the new users myself. Some are a nuisance right now, but they will be gone in time. As for the game kicking in hours, it does and doesn't. There are about 10 main quests all taking between 1 and 3 hours long. So the story is between 10 and 30 hours, but what makes the game long is the tedious side quests and grinding. Let me tell you this, I've not played a game where I had to grind for so much and for so long. Whether that's good or bad is up to you. Me personally I didn't mind the 20 hours I put into grinding, it was rather enjoyable. B.S.S.T. (talk) 21:55, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
Alright, thanks! Yeah, grinding can be a bother, though I'm used to that (jRPGs...), plus I'm very patient. I also read that side quests get better as the game progresses, could you confirm/deny? I'm asking all this because the beginning did not really get me in a mood and I felt somewhat strange when playing. Probably very similar to what you described in your original post. Saba0th (talk) 22:05, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
I didn't try my hand at side quests. The ones that I saw were fetch quests mostly, but there were a couple of good ones, like fighting Imshael at Suledin Keep in the Emprise Du Lion. That one was fun. Companion Quests are the best though. As you get deeper into the game it'll get better and be more fun, but the beginning is like... being lost in your hometown after you came back from War. I think that's the best way to explain it. B.S.S.T. (talk) 22:12, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
Sounds about right. I don't have too much time to play though. I might just wait till Christmas to really dig into the game. You know, with 1,5 and hour of creating a (female) character and stuff... This one [my first] was rushed. Don't get me wrong, he looks badass and has a killer beard (no Hellboy though, damn you BW), but feels underwhelming. Saba0th (talk) 22:26, November 24, 2014 (UTC)

I'm still around, now and then anyway. Started a new job, so struggling to find time for everything. And about that spoiler, I already saw it, and wow, but I am fucking furious that so many people decided they would make sure the wiki has it without giving any spoiler warning or subtlety to it like the secret companion loghain. Its massively unfair for anyone who just wants to know stuff about stuff, then BAM SPOILER! I've tried to clean it up, but anons AND users keep changing my edits to super spoilery stuff, amd kind of speculative. Also, the spoiler was very obvious after seeing the artbook and one tiny/kind of big in game detail, and I did guess it. But yeah, its unfortunate, I know I sent a friend here to find out some stuff to help him, he discovered a lot more and started slandering the place because of it. Suffice to say, I probably won't be doing much here until I've finished inquisition myself. Then I'll go and undo all this speculative spoiler shit in certain articles, if its not been done already. I feel sorry for darion, he'll probably see it without realising. Sorry, rant over. DeakialSig1 21:44, November 24, 2014 (UTC)

P.s sorry, cut sab's post out. Damn phone.
Which spoiler are you talking about? Mythal or Fen'Harel? B.S.S.T. (talk) 21:55, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
Both. First one was obvious because of the artbook. And I guessed the name because of the earlier leaked achievements. Second one was obvious once I saw the mural, and where it was located. But did I not say I'd give bw a standing ovation if that was true... DeakialSig1 22:22, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
But do you know about Kieran and his new found freedom of dreams, as he said it. B.S.S.T. (talk) 22:26, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
BSST, I know Kieran is OGBs name and thats about it. I did try to leave some stuff for myself to discover, so please don't go any further. Anyway, just for clarification, my problem isn't spoilers on the wiki. Its the fact that some douche put the ending on youtube, and then someone on the wiki chose to put that info up... less than 24 hours after release... in north america.... 3 days before us brits got it. Spoilers were heavy on the wiki and left completely uncontrolled, but it was kinda taken out the admins hands with that... And there were even people who were playing through dao or da2 for the first time on the forums... Its annoyed me a fuck load, less than 24 hours and the wiki is swarmed and spoilerfied. I knew it was coming, I just didn't think it would be so quick. And BSST, if we're gonna do any more spoiler talk, lets take it to the talk pages. I have an idea about that thing with the thing doing the thing. With stuff and things! But I still haven't reached where I need to to know more just yet. DeakialSig1 01:49, November 25, 2014 (UTC)
I didn't mean to incite your anger. I was merely curious if you got the really big spoiler that made my jaw drop. I could tell you who it involves, but that would make it unfun for you and I don't want that. Talk to me after the Well of Souls, that quest will certainly make you happy. B.S.S.T. (talk) 05:02, November 25, 2014 (UTC)
It's alright, but if its the spoiler I think it is, marvelesque, I know who it involves. DeakialSig1 10:12, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Actually, I figured that maybe I should reintroduce myself, as some people might not know me yet. My first post here, back in September, was a bit spontaneous and only B.S.S.T. actually responded, so I might just do it now.

So, yeah, I'm Saba0th. I'm studying biotechnology at the University of Medical Sciences in Poznań, Poland. I like video games, books and love metal music. My hobbies include playing the guitar and skiing. I'm just a regular guy, trying to help around here any way I can. Pretty boring, no? Saba0th (talk) 22:35, November 24, 2014 (UTC)

This is our home, our sanctuary, our Skyhold, no one's going to come in here and bother us. Very few did before. Everyone already knows you Sabby, so it's fine. We'll keep the place warm for the others till they get back and when they get back we'll drink. Drink like we've never drunk before! B.S.S.T. (talk) 22:40, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
That we'll do. For sure. Saba0th (talk) 22:53, November 24, 2014 (UTC)
Well most of them are off playing DA:I at length I suspect. And I am trying to steer clear of the wiki until I get my new PC and can finally start my own playthrough.

-HD3 Sig 05:06, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

I haven't disappeared anywhere BSST. Got the other thread archived, and tried to get it off to a start as usual, but many were probably pre-occupied with DAI. So yah, been here. Will always be here :P After all, who gave it its beautiful name hehe. Lazare326 10:41, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Actuly I already know about all the spoilers currently on the wiki. It really dose not bother me though. For me hearing about them actualy makes me more excited to see them for myself. I agree that we should dicourange other users from posting them as to not ruin it for people who do mind. At the vary least they could put up spoiler warnings to inform the few people who want to see it. Probily just better if they don't post them at all. Is their anything that can be done about it? (Darion Cousland (talk) 13:24, November 25, 2014 (UTC))

Yeah, thats my problem with some of the spoilers. They are MAJOR spoilers and they've just been put in the body of text thats already lacking information. Then they go and add Involvement (dragon age Inquisition) to other pages and just watching the wiki activity you can see the spoilers shoot up. We need something like a super spoiler tag.... Anyway, replied to you my talk page darion. DeakialSig1 14:59, November 25, 2014 (UTC)

Bump! We can't let our Rose get buried! Bump, bump, bump! Don't let this forum sink underground! Trollface Saba0th (talk) 23:04, November 30, 2014 (UTC)

What does everyone think will happen to the Wardens with all the stuff the epiloge slides say about them?(Darion Cousland (talk) 17:57, December 2, 2014 (UTC))

I'm still forging my own ideas at the moment, but I will share those eventually.

Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone else feels the same as me. Inquisition is great! BUT the maps are just stupidly huge. I feel that the size of them has stolen party banter from me, especially with the hissing wastes. I've just started having Solas, Blackwall and Cole in my party and theres been some really interesting banter so far. Especially Blackwall questioning Solas about how he found Skyhold. But for the first 40 odd hours of playing I wanted to do everything quick because I had to work, so I rode mounts and fast traveled most of the time. And I missed pretty much all the banter. Now I've decided to slow down a bit because I noticed that I missed it, but still.... when a game fleshes out character relations further through party banter you would have thought the maps wouldn't need mounts. THAT is my single quarrel so far with the game. Don't get me wrong though, I like the size and exploration, I just wish companions had mounts too... DeakialSig1 23:14, December 2, 2014 (UTC)

I wish I had already played the game by now, but I simply don't have the time. So, no answers to your questions, guys. That said, I wonder how the others are doing. Some have been out for like what, a month or two? Saba0th (talk) 23:49, December 2, 2014 (UTC)

YAY! I'VE FINALLY FINISHED! DeakialSig1 19:20, December 4, 2014 (UTC)

Yay how was it. I just started my first playthrough 2 days ago. Do you by any chance know where I can buy, find, get, or find scmatics to some massive armor sets? Also do you know where I can either buy,or farm for leather? I need it for crafting.(Darion Cousland (talk) 19:31, December 4, 2014 (UTC))

I played a mage so I didn't really bother with heavy armors for my party. Best bet with Leather is to just kill everything in sight. Nugs, druffalo, rams, wolves, etc. And IT WAS AWESOME! But now I have so many questions. Must begin work on my new theory... DeakialSig1 19:35, December 4, 2014 (UTC)

Does your theory involve Grey Wardens? If so then please keep me posted.(Darion Cousland (talk) 19:48, December 4, 2014 (UTC))

It may well do. Currently its nothing but my jaw being on the floor and druelling but, it will soon become coherent.

And now a message for everyone, play as a Qunari... the big bad says some interesting things during the final battle if you're a qunari. Very interesting things... DeakialSig1 19:59, December 4, 2014 (UTC)

Would you mind posting what he says to Qunari on my talk page. I'm playing as a human, but I really want to hear the interesting things he says.(Darion Cousland (talk) 20:05, December 4, 2014 (UTC))

*The beast, the madman, awakes from slumber for a moment* I bought my copy on December and can only manage to play about 3 or 4 hours a week (playing while married is hard when she doesn't play and hates violent games) so right now I am in the Orlains/Grey warden part of the game so I think I'm right there in the middle of the game... I only came back for a while a second to check some info on the specializations and I'm going back into hiding. See ya when I finish the game ya' all.--DaveManiac3 17:32, January 12, 2015 (UTC)

What's up?[]

What is up? Its been a while since I talked to any of you. Been mostly avoiding the wiki until I beat the game. Took my sweet time with it, went on a 5 day out of state vacation and finally beaten it last weekend. Thought I come back and chat with the good old fine folks at the Blooming Hanged Man's Rose. What did I miss? Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 23:03, December 11, 2014 (UTC)

Hi Supes! You didn't miss much, this place's been rather empty for some time now. Everyone seems to be playing still, though I suspect we might see some people returning in the coming days. Or at least, that's what I'm hoping for. As for any important news: DA:I won the Game of the Year 2014 and a patch was put out recently, though not for Xbox One, it seems. AC is the one I've been seeing the most around here, RShep and BSST are avoiding the wiki for now, Laz appeared a few times too. SMK might be lurking somewhere around, though he pops in very scarcely. Darion is around here as well. Haven't seen Xsari or Dave for quite some time now. I hope I didn't forget anyone... --Saba0th (talk) 23:23, December 11, 2014 (UTC)
Heard about that it won Game of the Year. Well deserved. Hope the patch fixes this annoying glitch I have with it glitching out in the level up menu. The character appears but not the abilities and I can't exit out. Happened twice during the end game and had to quit the game to get out of it. It was a bit annoying. Taking a break and then starting as a Female Elf Mage. Made a bad ass Two Handed Human Warrior. Haven't had this much fun in a game in years. Also, I am freaking mad the mid season finale of the Flash did not record on my DVR. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 23:53, December 11, 2014 (UTC)
Hmph, I can't comment on Xbox One bugs, as I'be been playing it on PC. Not for very long though, and I'm planning on restarting as a new character, when Dragon's Dogma finally loses its hold over me (seriously that game is addictive as hell!). DA:I worked quite well, but the crashes... It came to a point that I couldn't even run the game because of them. The new graphics drivers seemed to solve the issue, though I can't be sure. Gonna start a Female Elf Rogue, probably during Christmas' and see if I like it any better. Saba0th (talk) 00:07, December 12, 2014 (UTC)
I really need to get Dragon's Dogma. I need to fix my PS3 before I do. The Xbox One version is fine though. My character apparently stops in mid air briefly while running at times and that menu glitch are the only real issues I've had. Game looks and runs pretty well on it. I had a lot of fun. I really do want to finish the Female Elf one. I always enjoyed playing as Elves in Fantasy games. Don't know why, its just something I like to play as.
Can I play as an elf in Dragon's Dogma? Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 00:12, December 12, 2014 (UTC)
If you want Dragon's Dogma, be sure to get the Dark Arisen version, that way you won't miss out on any community stuff, as most are playing that version now.
Technically, the only race in Dogma is Human, but the character creator is very flexible, so it's more than possible to make a dwarf, an elf, or even the Hulk if you so desired. :P Saba0th (talk) 00:51, December 12, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, you haven't really missed much. I've been lurking a bit, and waiting for replies to some of my ideas that are floating around. Just began my second playthrough, which btw, completely threw one assumption I had made straight out the window, and I now realize I was very very wrong, literally found it out in the hinterlands. Xsari and Dave said they were planning on avoiding the until the new year, Xsari doesn't want her milk spoiled... and Dave said he was getting the game later than most. RShep and BSST are patrolling the DA answers wiki. Laz is rushing his uni stuff so he can get some free time to play DA, SMK hasn't been around so much since his daughter was born. And Darion is in between now he has DAI for himself.

Oh, and Dragons dogma is just fucking fantastic. That game has possibly THE best archery system. It is just so fun to be an archer class. Oh and I'm pretty sure the only race available is human, there are other races, but they're all villainous really, like orcs in lotr.

In terms of my feelings about the game, I think they tried abit too hard to "cram" enough in to make up for da2 and it has kind of detracted from the core of dragon age games. That and if you're like me and paid close attention to pretty much everything, you end up with a million answered questions, but a gazillion new ones. Oh, and I think the whole red lyrium explanation was a bit, well, shit. It was good, but they needed to add a whole lot more backstory to it. Like what does normal lyrium do, I mean, "Really Do?" and why the hell have we never seen a blue lyrium horror, and why is it in the fade... like I said, A GAZILLION NEW QUESTIONS! DeakialSig1 00:27, December 12, 2014 (UTC)

Oh, and the mid season finale of the Flash was amazing. I mean, it was really nice to clear some stuff up, but a million new questions arise. DeakialSig1 00:31, December 12, 2014 (UTC)
That I agree with that they tried to cram a lot in the game. I wished they had a few more stuff in the main story. It felt a bit short. I need resolution for Hawke and The Warden. I like all the side stuff and how big the levels are. I just wish there was more done, I really wanted more cities to explore. I wanted more resolution to some of the plots. More characters from the past game appearing as well would have been nice. There's always DLC/Expansions
I hope the Flash Mid-Season comes on again soon. I'll be sure to record it this time. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 00:47, December 12, 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I freaking love Dogma! Quite frankly, that's what's holding me from playing Dragon Age, not the lack of time. :P --Saba0th (talk) 01:01, December 12, 2014 (UTC)
Its the main reason I don't play as archers in DA games. Mage and Warrior I'm happy with, archers just remind me of how good they are in dragons dogma. DeakialSig1 12:07, December 12, 2014 (UTC)

Hey Super ya I'm here too just been ocupied with DAI. I probily should should try to spend more time on here I still have a role playing forum and a friend fic blog that I have not written on in a while I really should get back to those lol. Between the game and the new forums that keep poping up on here my time has been pretty divided, and Dragons Dogma is a great game!(Darion Cousland (talk) 13:29, December 12, 2014 (UTC))

Christmas Incoming[]

What are you planning on doing during the Christmas holidays (if you're having them, that is). I don't have anything specific in mind, probably will be playing Inquisition and Dogma, among other things. What of you? (Bump BTW, gotta keep this thread alive.) Saba0th (talk) 00:29, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

Spending Christmas with my family (and playing Inquisition). Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 13:43, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

Yeah, I guess that one was kind of obvious. ; )
I'm also hoping that some people decide to return to this forum earlier. It's getting lonely over here. We could do ourselves a Christmas eve here, it would be fun! : ) --Saba0th (talk) 14:52, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

Well... I'm continuing my yearly Christmas ritual. Pub, Karaoke, Hangover, xmas dinner, then crash out for a few days. Probs get a load of Inquisition time in as well. DeakialSig1 15:12, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

Lol. I'll probably be holed up in my room all day, only coming out to eat and bathe... XD --Saba0th (talk) 15:23, December 18, 2014 (UTC)
Thats my plan for Boxing day. Minus the bathing. Who needs to be clean anyway? DeakialSig1 15:28, December 18, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, I need this, after so many weeks in the dorm. And... I like to be clean. That doesn't mean I need to sleep, of course. :D --Saba0th (talk) 15:46, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

Where It All Began[]

Recently, GOG.com had a sale on various game bundles. One of them included a dungeons and dragons bundle of ten games for 21 dollars total. A few of them were the BioWare created Baldur's Gate and Neverwinter Nights games. I never had the luxury to ever play these so I bought the bundle. I'm finally playing some of BioWare's first games for the first time. Anything I should know about before I start them? Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 13:43, December 18, 2014 (UTC)

Happy New Year, everybody![]

And take care, no matter what you're doing. : ) --Saba0th (talk) 00:35, January 1, 2015 (UTC)

Its still EST where I am at. I do wonder where is everybody. the BHMR has been deserted. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 00:38, January 1, 2015 (UTC)

I'm in CET, so it's New Year for almost two hours out here. :P Uh-huh, I've also looked through the Wiki Activity. Haven't seen too many contributions from the regular visitors lately. :( --Saba0th (talk) 00:45, January 1, 2015 (UTC)
They probably have trouble leaving the Hinterlands. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 00:49, January 1, 2015 (UTC)
No way! ... I bet they're somewhere out there, surrounded by an army of wild Nuggalos. Or something worse... Shouldn't we help them? :s --Saba0th (talk) 00:58, January 1, 2015 (UTC)
Hey! I'll have you know that I've been to every corner of the Hinterlands and cannot possibly get lost there now, thank you very much! Seriously though, I have really bad ADD/OCD about getting as strong as possible before a story mission, otherwise I pay for it later, without actually going into level zones beyond my abilities. I originally pushed as far as Winter Palace (and know the outcome of Western Approach/Adamant Fortress) on the Templar track, now I'm rebooting my "canon" Nightmare play from prior to Redcliffe. Between that, finals, DA Answers, and trying to get a couple distraction games wrapped up, I haven't gotten half as far as anyone else. Bist is on his fifth playthrough, but that's the perks of being unemployed and in high school. Enjoy it while it lasts apprentice. *raises mug for New Years
And aside from Inquisition not only releasing, but getting Game of the Year over the rest of the overhyped crap they churned out, this was a pretty shit year. Even numbers usually aren't. Oh well, 2015 has a lot of popular digits in it, hopefully the spirits of numerology are friendly and not demonic. RShepard227 (talk) 01:45, January 1, 2015 (UTC)
Pfffffft! You whoremonger! You're not even that prolific on the answers Wiki! It's me, Luper, and Terminator mostly. I swear you become more omnipresent than Raider with each passing day. Also you don't need to be that big of a level with DA: I. You can pass the game at level 16 on Normal, if you have good armor. I get the trailer armor from the Hissing Wastes every time, so I dressed to the nines when I have to deal with bitches. Don't believe him guys. He says his busy, but really he just doesn't like playing video games for long or being on the internet. He has what the youngins call a "real life". Loser. I'm jest Commander! I love you! *Clicks glass* :) B.S.S.T. (talk)

Wait... what? It's 2015 already? DAMN! I SLEPT FOR TOO LONG!!!!

On another note BSST is really on his fifth playthrough? I keep falling asleep because the only time I really get to do any playing is late late evening.... So, I've barely started my second. Anyway, happy new year guys and gals and robots and darkspawn and demons and whatever else may be lurking out there... Hiding in the shadows waiting to strike. DeakialSig1 01:04, January 2, 2015 (UTC)

Yup. Did a fem elf, a fem qunari, a male dwarf, a male qunari, and now a fem dwarf. In that order. Learned a lot of tricks too. Started on casual for two playthroughs then did normal on the third. Gonna try hard for my seventh and if that's too tough bump it back down. Games fun in certain areas, it sucks in a lot of others though. Didn't really start having fun till I played the Qunari though. It's awesome playing a character who doesn't give a fuck. That's how I roleplayed him anyway. I got to punch Solas with him! :D B.S.S.T. (talk)
....Punch Solas.... OMG I NEED TO PLAY A CHARACTER LIKE THAT! I've done a male qunari and started a female qunari, simply because I want to make sure I pay attention with the eluvian this time round. And, well Sera, she kept going on to Iron Bull about femqunari, and well, Woof. So far both have been, "I want to things the right way, for the Inquisition! For Thedas!!!!" Think I made a mistake there... But yeah, some of the areas drag on and on and are just really boring. DeakialSig1 12:18, January 2, 2015 (UTC)
Oh yeah he was awesome! I could have punched Dorian too, but that would have made him leave. OK, somehow, I have no idea how I did this, but somehow I got Dorian's approval so low that he was talking about the Elves in the Arbor Wilds before we even went to the Winter Palace. In that convo he was saying he was going to leave for Tevinter after the fighting was done. He and my Qunari got in a really heated argument at which point I could have punched him and made him leave, but I didn't want to excommunicate companions, so I didn't punch him. Kind of regret it though because I could have punched two people in one playthrough! :D However, at the Winter Palace I made Gaspard, Briala, and Celene my bitches, so a Qunari won the grand game and made the most powerful people in Orlais his puppets. That made Dorian like me more, to the point that after the Arbor Wilds he told me I changed him for the better and made him want to go back home and fix things. Surprisingly, all of my Companions stayed until the end. Solas was the only one to leave because you know story. Even more so surprising, I roleplayed the most hardass Qunari who was somewhere between Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker and Sera approved of him. Fucking Sera! She hates assholes and I was a pure asshole! Cole was also cool with me. I plowed Cass like a cornfield, was awesome seeing my Qunari read poetry to her! Varric was my friend and Viv was my best friend! Didn't make her divine though because I think a glitch. Third playthrough I supported Cassandra and got Viv as Divine. Fourth playthrough I supported Viv as Divine and got Leliana as Divine. I have no idea how this shit happens. I have to keep experimenting with that choice if I'm going to get it right for my three Canon playthroughs. All in all, Shok Adaar is by far my favorite playthrough so far. He was great! B.S.S.T. Finished my 200+ hours Inquisitor. With all the options I personally deemed best. I loved the game. I think there isn't one companion i disliked. They all resonated with me, one way or the other. Lazare326 21:49, January 2, 2015 (UTC)

Good to see you bback Laz. happy New years everyone. I initially disliked Vivienne but on my second one I experimented with agree with her and she's an alright character. not my personal favorite but she's alright. It's two weeks into the new year guys. How are you doing lately? (Been busy with the other wiki myself. And now Uni has started.) --Saba0th (talk) 00:35, January 15, 2015 (UTC)

Well I been ins talker mode 'cus I hate to spoil my DA:I experience which is mostly spoiled now... THANKS FORUM POSTS!!!... anywhore, my year looks good professionally (finally named SW development manager), getting engaged again and trying to find time to play with everything going on in my life.... so I hope everyone gets a great year --DaveManiac3 20:28, January 15, 2015 (UTC)
Welcome back, Dave. Despite my constant lack of time, the year is going pretty well. Looks like nobody noticed your coming, so I'll bump the Rose up. --Saba0th (talk) 17:02, January 18, 2015 (UTC)
After my time away, which was great (Discovered this thing called real life... you know you only get one life in that game??), I have returned to find that the place is lacking... dunno what or why but I found that most of the post are about what does this mean and they do not do any research... baaaah..
BTW, did a very stupid thing... I am fighting Gaspard's sister and found out I went inside with only 2 potions, that turned into a real stupid thing 'cus either I try to make it work (which is hard and annoying) or start from the beginning... happy times (also it is my first play through)--DaveManiac3 20:42, January 19, 2015 (UTC)
I feel for you Dave, spoiler hound that I turned into after the whole "artbook leak" led me to discover, after staring at the image for hours, one of the biggest revelations in the game. Yeah... forum posts were nothing after that. Even the epilogue was unsurprising after seeing that. i already had my suspicions regarding that anyway. Anyway, congrats on getting engaged. My years starting to look good as well, I've finally found a job. Woohh!!!! DeakialSig1 19:24, January 18, 2015 (UTC)

What is... poop or how I figured out the game is wrong[]

Hey guys, with all the questions about DA:I secret meanings I came to think about two things... when do the characters poop, when do they eat and what does this mean??? does it mean that people in thedas do not eat??? --DaveManiac3 20:46, January 19, 2015 (UTC)

Well... in the Sera romance she reveals a cookie, or a desire to make and eat cookies with the inquisitor... The pre-epilogue victory scene does show people sitting around a feast table... and you can take Cole out for dinner, but not eat. And he doesn't eat anyway. I think they do eat, just off screen, where we can't see the embarrassing faces they make. As for pooping... I haven't seen a bucket, or a toilet, anywhere yet. Are there any buckets in the prison cells beneath Skyhold? DeakialSig1 11:40, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

I haven't seen any buckets, toilets or outhouses... what does this mean??? they don't poop??? maybe they do poop but anywhere in the castle "Lord Inquisitor may I present you Empress... are you taking a shit in the throne??"--DaveManiac3 14:16, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

Haha, I did think that those mysterious doors in the inquisitor's bedroom might have been a toilet... but it just had barrels...

So, the people of Thedas all wear nappies on a regular basis? Would explain why the outfit was so shabby. Who wants to shit in Orlesian finery like Orlesians do... DeakialSig1 14:54, January 20, 2015 (UTC)

The truth is, they do not poop. Thedosians according to Brother Poopanitie of the Ferelden Chantry of Poop did an extensive study on how after the demon insurgent, something occured which led to a lack of poop. They no longer need food.Lazare326 10:37, January 21, 2015 (UTC)

I think that the game is broken because of this, there should be a recall and fix it ASAP!!!... join me brothers in the chant "WE WANNA POOP, WE WANT TOILETS!!!"--DaveManiac3 14:16, January 21, 2015 (UTC)

I'm back! *Spoilers*[]

Hi everyone how are you all doing? I've finally finished my first playthrough of Dragon Age Inquisition. Took me over two months! I've never taken that long with a game before. Have to say I was a little disappointed, it has got to be one of the buggiest games I have ever played. Even with that though I still enjoyed it and will have more playthroughs. The ending after the credits was crazy. Played as a female Qunari, romanced Iron Bull (which I found the best of any Bioware game). Favourite characters Iron Bull, Cassandra and Josephine. Least favourite Blackwall, Sera and Harding. Harding seemed very lacking, I thought there would be more to her character. What were all your experiences like?

My theory of Leliana possibly becoming the Divine was correct, even though loads of people didn't agree with me. In the end though I picked Cassandra because I liked her better. --Xsari (Talk) 16:03, January 27, 2015 (UTC)

Welcome back! I'm guessing BSST is now on his 1500th playthrough... But yeah, I've just finished my second, and I realized some flaws that bugged me along the way. Some underwhelming story stuff and whatnot. More the lack of answers for some questions which I fear are now forgotten. But oh well. My favourite characters had to be Dorian, Sera and Iron Bull. Some of the party banter was great between them. And the pranks scene was just brilliant. Harding was definitely lacking, which is why I hope she reappears as a playable companion in a DLC, and we get to learn a lot more about her. I saw a video on Youtube about the ending to all the flirting with her, and it was just... nothing. She literally says she'll speak to you later, then nothing.

I ended up supporting Cassandra, but got Leliana. Got Cass the second time round, but there's this weird "every choice you make throughout the game will alter this outcome" dynamic going on with that. DeakialSig1 16:59, January 27, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, nice to see you AC. Ah I didn't notice you could flirt with Harding. What annoyed me were things like Solas having dark hands and feet when you put upgrades on his armour, my characters disconnected arm with the prowler arm upgrade, some broken dialog / out of sinc sound effects and not being able to fully customise armour from the schematics (each should have had one metal, leather and cloth slot so you could change everything in my opinion). Sera was a little too quirky for me, didn't understand what she was going on about half the time and I always seemed to piss her off. Wonder why she's the only character you can ask to leave at any time, didn't see that option with anyone else. With Leliana I remember there being a dialog option to support her when she talked about wanting to be Divine and I said I wouldnt, maybe that's why she got elected with you?
Also a little off topic but I've noticed you've stopped posting HoDA images, should I stop sending the ones I've collected to you? --Xsari (Talk) 00:05, January 28, 2015 (UTC)
No no, don't stop sending them. I have a backlog of ones I've done but have yet to put up. I feel kinda bad as well since I told Kelcat they'd be up soon. I have had loads of time to do it, but have spent more time faffing about with Inquisition than anything else. If I get a free half hour tomorrow I'll start doing it. Then I'll try and get a new list of needed images, minus the brand new additions since I haven't played HoDA since I buggered up my phone.
Regarding the divine, in that conversation option to support one of them I did choose Cass, but I think it was because she disagreed with most of my actions, I ended up with Leliana. Agree with you on the armor customization, and weapons. I would have liked to have altered the look of some of the clunkier looking armor and weapons. Sera did piss me off a fair amount to begin with, I thought she was just in there to be the pain in the ass. But I got so fed up with Varric, and the banter with Cole was fun but also really annoying. I couldn't stand his "I'm like a child but I also kill people" thing. Sera was just the better option to have in the party for me, and after a while she really did grow on me. But I do still think she's the marmite character. Hardings flirt option will probably be the greatest and most pointless secret in the entire Dragon age series, since nothing happens as a result and a lot of people haven't even seen the option. DeakialSig1 00:21, January 28, 2015 (UTC)

Male Human Heartthrob :-P romanced Josephine... out of sheer luck, wanted Cassie but will be next playthrough. Loved the game, loved the story... loved everything... BEST GAME EVER and I don't care what everyone else says.

BTW, Welcome back sexy thing aka Xsari... missed you a lot, I need someone to put me into place and Lazare was not that into it :P.--DaveManiac3 18:00, January 27, 2015 (UTC)

Hey Xsari welcome back! I posted on your talk page when I found out you were back well I hope you've been well.(Darion Cousland (talk) 14:20, January 28, 2015 (UTC))

Xsari's back? Well... shit. Now I have to come back don't I? Guess it's been over due. Oh Scout will have a field day with this! Oh and Xsari, in over three months done 6 playthroughs and half way through on the 7th one. Had to take a break though to play AC: Black Flag because I. LOVE. That. Game. Will finish the seventh over the weekend. Just got the Grey Warden's and Arbor Wilds left to do. B.S.S.T. (talk)

I bet BSST has turned albino by now... you know it 2015 right dude???--DaveManiac3 15:36, January 30, 2015 (UTC)

Dave, you understand that this game is short as fuck, right? Honestly Origins took me five days to blitz through, DA2 took me like three days, and Inquisition takes me about a week. Honestly I'm surprised that I haven't beaten the 11 playthroughs (yes I added another :P). It could probably be because I harbor little to no love for DA: I. There are aspects of it that are good, but it's too unlike it's brothers for me to truly love it. Then there's the grinding. FUCK! THE! GRINDING! Honestly the sole reason I've locked in 50-60 hours in those playthroughs is because of how much grinding I've had to do. I just want an expansion at this point. Something to remind me why I loved dragon age and why I held it so loftily. B.S.S.T. (talk)
LOL... I actually loooooooooooooove DA:I, I love how epic it is and grinding??? I played DCUO... now THAT is grinding (Fucking tier armors ¬¬), this is nothing like that --DaveManiac3 16:52, January 30, 2015 (UTC)
The need to grind is blamable on whoever's desire it was, at bioware or EA, to make Inquisition more like From Software's "Souls" games. The grinding required in them is, just totally, fucking outrageously, ridiculous. You literally can't do shit in those games if you haven't trained up. DeakialSig1 01:21, February 1, 2015 (UTC)

Wow 6 playthroughs in 3 months? Must have a lot of free time lucky you. I'd be lucky if I'd get through that many in a year! Ok I'll carry on sending the HoDA pics AC, the nexus events are quite easy at the moment so I'm leveling up characters quickly with the unwanted golds. --Xsari (Talk) 00:07, January 31, 2015 (UTC)

Welcome back Xsari! It will also interest a couple of you that I too have finished my first playthrough. I Nightmare'd through to Skyhold at great annoyance, then found a school schedule not willing to wait for me to finish out on my own terms. So I rushed through the Inner Circle quests, never even had time for a romance, and Casual'd through the last three plot quests. At first I was just gonna get the basic plot understanding under wraps, then got the "powerful ally to even the score" 10 minutes later, saw the last mission cost 0 power and said "eh fuck it, finish out." Glad I did, because that ending stinger...Boosh. RShepard227 (talk) 00:50, February 6, 2015 (UTC)

Necromancer or The Unexpected Return of the Hanged Man's Rose[]

So guys our little banter topic is kinda dead and we made an oath to talk bullshit and sing stupid songs until we die, and none of us has died... yet... so we need to revive this topic using necromancy!!!!

So I ask you all, to sing and tell us what is your all time favorite drinking, party or feel alive songs... mine are:

  • Metallica - Turn the Page.
  • Mago de Oz - Fiesta Pagana (Spanish).
  • Alestorm - Nancy the Tavern Wench.

Or if you'd like to propose a drinking game with Dragon age that would be awesome too.

Yours truly, the one and only mad lord of Klandaktu --DaveManiac3 15:19, February 5, 2015 (UTC)

How did your Inquisitor turn out?[]

Been busy for a bit but have noticed this page is a little dead. I'm interested to see how everyone's characters turned out if you guys have any pics? This is my first character Rishara, think she turned out quite well. Personally love her purple eyes! Picture not so great quality as taken from tv by my iPad, not sure how to do screenshots on Xbox.

DeakialSig1 21:48, February 9, 2015 (UTC)

Ooohhh I really like Deakial! Though from the description in Lord Cousland's party I expected him to have the classic Qunari silver white hair. --Xsari (Talk) 02:11, February 10, 2015 (UTC)
Yeah, I tried making the white hair and fiddled with the skin tone but I couldn't find a combination I liked, so ended up going with black hair, maybe Deakial can dye his hair black in Lord Couslands party, or *cliche* the magic turns it black. I was very happy that my choice of horns were the ones with a metallic covering which looks silvery in the right light. DeakialSig1 10:19, February 10, 2015 (UTC)

Well I played a human male Warrior who went with the Templar spec.(I know that my Warden and Hawke were human male warriors already) named Jason Trevelyan. He romanced Cassandra, Recruited the Templars as free allies, let stroud sacrifice himself, so Hawke could live, Chose to let the Grey Wardens stay and rebuild, Saved Celene from the assians, Celene kept the throne, banished that elf chick and had gaspared executed( tryed to have him left alive, but she woulden't have it) let Morrigan drink from the well, and last, but not leased kikced Corys butt. Also Cassandra became Divine even though I wanted Lelianna. The only reason I did not want Cass is because her becomeing divine means she has to break off the relastionship which is what ended up happening :( Jason's best friends ended up being Varric and Cullen, main party cosisted of Cassandra, Varic, and Solas. He and Solas respected eachother, but still got in a lot of arguements. He was friends with Dorian, and Blackwall(could never finish Blacwalls companion quest because it gliched) He was friends with Iron Bull and Cole, who became Tal va soth and more like a spirit respectfully. Him and Sera were only aquintenses, as well as Viveane, He and Josaphine only ever had a profesionel relasionship even though he help her family become lords. He and Lelianna were friends.I would post a picture if I actuly had one and knew how to(Darion Cousland (talk) 14:25, February 16, 2015 (UTC))

Hello everyone! :)

Dragon's Dogma caught me off-guard and now I'm lost. I really want to get back and finally play through the damn Inquisition, but I don't know... I just can't. Bought the game on release and only played it, like, twice and only for a couple of hours. Other than that: exams happened, so I'm not having much time to do fun things. Okay, now that my whining, I guess, is over...

Awesome Inquisitors! My first (and only one as of yet; with whom I haven only played through the beggining and part of the Hinterlands) was also a Qunari, but since I have no way of taking screens right now, I can only describe him. A bit similar to Deakial, with raven hair and a full beard. The regular DA2 Qunari-looking horns with that short, tied (cut?) ponytail-or-something hairstyle. Almost black skin tone and yellow eyes. When I actually do get back to the game and restart for a proper playthrough, I'm gonna create an Elven redhead (or a Human, but have a thing for Elves and redheads :P) Rogue. Whenever that actually happens. --Saba0th (talk) 00:05, February 11, 2015 (UTC)

Woah, back all of a sudden?[]

The Rose looked dead, but the Bartender intends to make it a thing again, but dudes and dudettes, we need to get this thing rolling on again! How's everyone been? Share your DAI experiences, or anything at all? How was Hakkon for you guys? Or just generally how's life been treating ya? A lot of the Rose's alumni have been notably absent from the wiki? Any reasons? Lazare326 00:51, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

Was going to revive this myself actually and you beat me to it Laz. Been playing DAI a lot more lately after beating it three times back in November/December. Sort of got bored with it back then and moved on but interest has came back. DAI seems like the game I'll play once every so often. I tried the Templar story line for the first time and it was genuinely good, redeemed the order in my eyes.

Haven't gotten Jaws of Hakkon yet. I can't really buy DLC much these days, especially for 15 dollars. I am waiting on that for a while. Supergodzilla1118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 01:16, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

Jaws of Hakkon isn't a must buy if I were to state my truest opinion. It was ultimately alright, but if you have something else in mind to buy, you should pass Jaws. And agreed, DAI has a lot of replayability, not to the same extent as DAO I would say in terms of story but more in regards to the environments and the more enjoyable side quests. Yay the bars open again! Nice to see someone dusting off the cobwebs. I'm currently on holiday in Croatia, Dubrovnik / Kings Landing. It's the most beautiful city I've ever visited! I've been dipping in and out of my second DAI playthrough, been busy with other things lately. Though when May 19th comes around I'll be on Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt, but likely I'll be back playing Inquisition soon after. I found JoH good but it's not a must buy imo. It's stupid everyone else has to wait over 2 months for it. --Xsari (Talk) 07:22, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

That's awesome! Dubrovnik is on our summer schedule on our European tour after Split which is also in Croatia. Do let me know how the trip ultimately went! I'm just anticipating the last term of University to transpire, and take a much needed lay down. And much agreed, Wild Hunt is looking...just amazing. I am afraid that they may have compromised the difficulty in missions since this game is getting immense mainstream hype, though Dark Souls didn't do that, but the difficulty of that game is what gave it mainstream success, but it is a minor worry of mine. Lazare326 08:40, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

Hey Laz! How have you been? I've been busy lately, and have yet to buy "Jaws of Hakkon". I've also been playing Mass Effect again for a bit. We really need to start posting on here more often again. I will start it off with one of those fake DLC's we all like to make up on here in some of our more humor filled conversations. Did you know that Bioware is going to let us have Garrus from ME as a DLC companion for DA? He will help us calibrate all of our weapons! Also Bioware recently revealed that Flemeth's ghost will be a love interest in the next game. The next DA game will be called: Dragon Age The Yetti Chronicles where we assist the Yetti in running the Blood Mages out of there homes, and then with help from Kratos(from God of War) we assault the Black City only to find out that the only thing there was a Reaper who was trying to bring fourth the Zombie Appocolispes untill we get saved by Reaven! Well I hope that's goofy enough to restart the banter. (Darion Cousland (talk) 13:06, May 11, 2015 (UTC))

I was walking through the Emerald Graves, mindlessly testing a Rift Mage + Winter combo on Solas for Nightmare efficacy (good, not great), when I came upon a pic-a-nic basket related to some quest I had long forgotten. I press X over it to "complete" the quest, think nothing happened and keep moving, then out of nowhere Dorian starts taking damage. I whip the camera around and see 500 pounds of NOPE mounting him like a new recruit at the Blooming Rose. And I had specced Solas out of his fire abilities too. We still killed it, thank you Blackwall, it was just big and I completely forgot that a giant spider waits at the end of that quest marker. One of the joys of a massive game, you forget those kinds of details. Which are kind of important when you're an arachnophobe. RShepard227 (talk) 17:44, May 11, 2015 (UTC)

I've been kind of busy with real life (it's rather crappy right now, to be honest) and also, apparently, addicted to another game with "Dragon" (and "Dogma") in the title. Since DA:I's European release day, upon which I bought my copy of the game, I have only played a bit over 6h on my Qunari character, then kind of abandoned it. Didn't get the same feeling during the game, as with previous DA titles. Because of that, I felt like I didn't have anything to say/do here, so I've been spending time contributing to the other "Dragon" game's wiki. Still planning on starting a female Elven Rogue playthrough (the first real, complete playthrough), hopefully very soon, as I feel like I'm nearing burnout in the other game. Now that the patches and BE are out, it should be cool. --Saba0th (talk) 23:18, May 12, 2015 (UTC)

Dragon's Dogma was really cool. I hope DA eventually adopts the same combat style for fighting dragons or large enemies in the future. That was really fun, and pretty immersive. I've primarily played as a human, but I haven't been levitated towards playing as an elf, though I did. The Qunari were alright to play as, but for some reason it felt really out of place for me and the way I played. Lazare326 08:43, May 14, 2015 (UTC)

I absolutely love Dragon's Dogma. It has a certain depth to it, that might not be apparent at first glance. It would sure be fun to have certain elements of DD's combat system in Dragon Age, though I doubt they'd ever implement it. I wouldn't see it going well with the action/tactics hybrid of DA's combat. Although, who can tell? Now back in DA:O, I've mostly played as a human (many playthroughs, mostly male), only did maybe two playthroughs as an elf, and also started several dwarf playthroughs, never finished. Somehow I'm not really into races other than human in DA. Weird, as I generally don't have that problem in other games which provide that choice. Now I'm thinking that maybe going with a human for my first, real playthrough of DA:I would be a better idea. --Saba0th (talk) 23:46, May 14, 2015 (UTC)

The story levitates one to choose a human in my opinion. In DAO it felt as though any race would do, but the whole context of DAI just made it compelling to be a human. Playing as an Elf, Qunari or Dwarf ultimately felt like a 'What if' kinda thing to me. That's just my own opinion. I think Like DA2, when I felt compelled to play as a mage, the same feeling was here. Lazare326 05:06, May 15, 2015 (UTC)

I think there must be something to it, Laz. I started the playthrough today, as a human, and it just feels... right.

...Hmm, it's kind of striking how the activity on the wiki dropped, following the months after DA:I's release. The fire seems to have died down some. I still remember how cool it was, riding the hype train with you guys and gals. :P --Saba0th (talk) 21:57, May 15, 2015 (UTC)

It's really not that surprising. Activity is usually high in the year leading up to the game, whilst activity after the game is usually based on technical stuff and new lore/things that have been cleared up/plot/lore twists on the game, with new users coming in. I expect activity to stay low until more DLC is announced and then to rise again when a new release is coming about. Look at the ME wiki for instance, it's not really that busy.

Lazare326 14:55, May 16, 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. But, the drop did seem rather severe. I see now that activity is picking up during the weekends, though. Just wish some more of the regulars to be back. --Saba0th (talk) 21:37, May 17, 2015 (UTC)

Well Laz, good news for you. I decided to get Witcher 3 after all. I won't get it when it launches next week though, maybe when I get Arkham Knight, I just got other uses for my money. As for my DAI runs, going to role play as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow on my next run, love Arrow but I hate playing as an Archer Rogue in Dragon Age. Also, anyone here played Demon Souls? I just started and found it fun and hard, and I didn't like Dark Souls, boring in my opinion. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 00:48, May 17, 2015 (UTC)

Archers are so brilliantly overpowered in dai, it really is fun to play as them. And awesome, I have no doubt you'll enjoy it! Gamespot gave it a rare 10/10, think they rarely ever give out perfect scores. Lazare326 16:51, May 17, 2015 (UTC)

Archers were pretty meh in DA:O, but then they made them completely OP in Awakenening (those through-the-roof criticals, man). Loved the archer in DAII, actually. And as a coincidence, the playthrough I started a while ago in DA:I, also stars an Archer Rogue. Heh, I've never played Demon's Souls (don't have a PS3), but I did play Dark Souls. I must say I like it, though I got stuck at the Capra Demon and that's my story, so far. :P --Saba0th (talk) 21:37, May 17, 2015 (UTC)

Casey Hudson[]

Just found this out, find it pretty interesting http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/243703/Microsoft_Studios_snaps_up_former_Mass_Effect_lead_Casey_Hudson.php?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=twitter&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+GamasutraNews+%28Gamasutra+News%29. Casey Hudson is now the creative director at Microsoft Studios. It just caught me a bit off guard. Apparently he's now working on the Xbox One department too. Plus what did you think of the ME leak?Lazare326 17:18, May 18, 2015 (UTC)

Will he add color options for the inevitable "slim" Xbox One? :D Also, didn't see anything about ME4 in there, what leak are you talking about? RShepard227 (talk) 19:50, May 19, 2015 (UTC)

Not in this link, but there was a ME leak about what the game is going to be about. You not familiar? Lazare326 22:46, May 19, 2015 (UTC)

Just Dropping Off Something Interesting[]

Gonna leave this here. No spoilers on what it is. I'm not coming back. B.S.S.T. (talk) 23:28, May 19, 2015 (UTC)

Witcher 3[]

Anyone played Witcher 3 then? It is truly phenomenal. Have to say, though I will always feel closer to the DA series, Witcher 3 just wipes the floor with it right now. It's even better than Skyrim in many ways. Lazare326 12:53, May 23, 2015 (UTC)

You and I must be playing different Witcher 3s. The control scheme was clearly designed for some sort of mutated cephalopod, the index is laid out so poorly it could be written in linear B and wouldn't be any less comprehensible and the characterization of a lot of the background characters has some....somewhat unfortunate and unsettling implications. But that's none of my business.

-Seekers of Truth heraldryHD3 (Talk) 13:13, May 23, 2015 (UTC)

I think I was rather hyperbolic with my praise right there. Asides from the negatives of the game, it has many strengths that are exceptional. Gameplay wise, I didn't mind it much, and the world does seem rather interactive from my experiences so far, I haven't had too much problems with any background characters. The freaking game world is not just aesthetically pleasing, but CD Projekt have just constructed it in a way that's urged me to explore it. The fetch quests also seem to be genuinely good too; it doesn't feel like a chore. I actually feel as though i must have missed something in some areas, which actually concerns me at times because I literally enjoy doing that shit in the game. And the story too, damn it's freaking done well. I'm a big fan of European folklores, myths and legends so I might be a bit biased, but the influence it has had on the world, with that true dark fantasy setting was amazingly cool. It kinda reminded me of Red Dead Redemption in a way, in terms of just the way you play the game.
I haven't experienced many flaws; the game suites me well. I can complain only for a few glitches that were/are being patched. I originally didn't buy into the hype train that certain fans and media outlets were giving off, but it's certainly understandable now. We must be playing different games indeed XD. The game has its mishaps here and there, but i actually think the guys have done an amazing job. Plus, the Pulp Fiction easter egg/reference just got me. At the end of the day, i'm a story buff. That's why I love BW games, and though DAI was amazing, I felt as though the story wasn't too strong at times. Though sorry for going off on a tangent, as your negatives seem to be rooted in technical stuff. So it's understandable. Lazare326 17:44, May 23, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks for bringing it up Laz. First I had to run from Reddit, and now I need to run from the pub, albeit drunker than lemurs, to get away from inevitable spoiler chatter. Was planning on getting it, then I had to punish myself for a bad grade, but now JoH drops Tuesday, so I won't be able to get it for another month at least. *pays tab* See you in six months when I've finished Witcher 3 lads and lass. Although I will say that fetch quests suck in any and all games, and ideally I could send the companions I'm not using to go complete the fetch quests a la the war table. That's what I'd like to see in an RPG someday. RShepard227 (talk) 09:44, May 24, 2015 (UTC)

I'm loving Witcher so far! Only just reached the first area after the prologue, think it's called Valen? I suck at fighting though and I'm playing on easy lol. Keep getting tempted to explore and end up in a high level area I'm really not ready for where I get killed. Learning and getting better. A few leggy bits here and there though and I hate how the cutscene about what Geralt's doing plays every time I load a save. Heard about the dreaded save glitch on Xbox One but I luckily haven't encountered it yet. But then I save constantly because years back I had a power cut during a game and lost around two hours of play time. --Xsari (Talk) 12:51, May 24, 2015 (UTC)

Yep. I introduced my friend to the Witcher 3 and he had the exact same problems with combat, but he loved everything else about it. Gotta admit, I also love the maturity of the story too. It feels so authentic and grand. And yeah, I once went far in Assassin's Creed 2 only for the Xbox to cut off for some odd reason and then knowing that the file was just corrupted. That pissed me off. I had gotten so far haha. And Shepard, the fetch quests aren't like traditional ones. They're really immersive and worth doing. You don't feel as though you're obliged to, and it doesn't feel like a chore, but it just fits in well with the Witcher haha. Lazare326 13:41, May 24, 2015 (UTC)
