Introductions

So yeah, we kinda derailed that Keep Blog, so why not continue the banter here! I, Sir Lazare of Antiva challenge you all to sustain this forum up until the release date of Dragon Age: Inquisition. Come knights, Rshep, SMK, BSST, Super, Dave, AC, Darion, and the whole lot of you, come along, join us in the shadows. Oh and Xsari, Kelcat, Cheddar, you are all welcome. Banter

Rules:

  • Let's be polite to our fellow warriors in arms
  • Bring on the DA banter
  • This area is like a sketch. So add a subtitle to add your own little banter sketch, and we'd all maybe join in?

Oh, Flemeth according to SMK has done something with Pokemon or something. It sounded very dangerous. Lazare326 13:12, September 4, 2014 (UTC)

And It Is Done

So the Glorious Warden-Commander got in contact with our beloved King and now the Blooming Hanged Man's Rose is as virginal as it was on September 4th. Therefore it needs a good deflowering, so with Laz out I'll just say it.

LET IT ROLL LADS AND LASSES AND EVERYONE ELSE!! The Good King left us with a fresh brew of Antivan Brandy, Orlesian Wine, Rivaini Whiskey, and enough Dwarven Ale to shut even Dave up. Let's have us a party aye?! B.S.S.T. (talk) 22:08, October 19, 2014 (UTC)

The Emperor's Banquet

My dear, and humble subjects, I call upon you to attend the grandest and greatest banquet, the blooming hanged man's rose has ever had the pleasure of hosting. The halls will be decorated by the greatest of interior designers; the food will be cooked by the greatest culinary chef that has ever existed; the music will be the sweetest you have ever had the joy of hearing! The story telling will be jaw dropping; we shall dance till we drop! I hereby invite those who are willing to party till a new age!

Now, here are the rules! You must carry on upon the story after this has been posted after the following. Let's see how ludicrous this can get:

The banquet has begun. Entering in the great halls with their elaborate suits and dresses, the lords and ladies of the land entered the Emperor's great palace: The Blooming Hanged Man's Rose. The wine was served upon their entrance. They all sat down according around the marble table. The Emperor laz, sat upon his throne with the greatest of warriors and lords and ladies and everything else besides him, equal in splendour and magnificence. There, the party began....CONTINUE!!!! Lazare326 10:34, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

It was a voluptuous scene, that masquerade. Outside was only the red death. And while the pestilence raged most furiously abroad, that the Emperor entertained his thousand friends at a masked ball of the most unusual magnificence.

But first let me tell of the rooms in which it was held. There were seven, each filled with a band of nobles in seemingly infinitely varied splendor. In an assembly of such phantasms, it may well be supposed that no ordinary appearance could have excited such sensation. In truth the masquerade license of the night was nearly unlimited; Even with the utterly lost, to whom life and death are equally jests, there are matters of which no jest can be made. The whole company, indeed, seemed now deeply to feel that in the costume and bearing of the stranger neither wit nor propriety existed. The figure was tall and gaunt, and shrouded from head to foot in the habiliments of the grave. The mask which concealed the visage was made so nearly to resemble the countenance of a stiffened corpse that the closest scrutiny must have had difficulty in detecting the cheat. And yet all this might have been endured, if not approved, by the mad revellers around. But the mummer had gone so far as to assume the type of the Red Death. His vesture was dabbled in blood -- and his broad brow, with all the features of the face, was besprinkled with the scarlet horror.

When the eyes of Emperor Lazare fell upon this spectral image (which with a slow and solemn movement, as if more fully to sustain its role, stalked to and fro among the waltzers) he was seen to be convulsed, in the first moment with a strong shudder either of terror or distaste; but, in the next, his brow reddened with rage.

"Who dares?" he demanded hoarsely of the courtiers who stood near him -- "who dares insult us with this blasphemous mockery? Seize him and unmask him -- that we may know whom we have to hang at sunrise, from the battlements! It was then, however, that the Emperor Lazre, maddening with rage and the shame of his own momentary cowardice, rushed hurriedly through the six chambers, while none followed him on account of a deadly terror that had seized upon all. He bore aloft a drawn dagger, and had approached, in rapid impetuosity, to within three or four feet of the retreating figure, when the latter, having attained the extremity of the velvet apartment, turned suddenly and confronted his pursuer. There was a sharp cry -- and the dagger dropped gleaming upon the sable carpet, upon which, instantly afterwards, fell prostrate in death the Emperor Lazare. Then, summoning the wild courage of despair, a throng of the revellers at once threw themselves into the black apartment, and, seizing the mummer, whose tall figure stood erect and motionless within the shadow of the ebony clock, gasped in unutterable horror at finding the grave-cerements and corpse-like mask which they handled with so violent a rudeness, untenanted by any tangible form. And now was acknowledged the presence of the Red Death. He had come like a thief in the night.

-209.95.36.62 (talk) 10:50, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

^Not really what I was expecting anon. Tis a misrepresentation of the entire story there, BUT certainly well written :P. Moving on then...

The Emperor and his grandest of friends conversed throughout the glorious, star-ridden night. Upon the request of the Warden guests, the ale was thrusted out in numbers; Oghren leading the men with his filth ridden hands. The ale, from the pits of the Hanged Man, was drunk in droves by the mindless lords and ladies of the table. Lazare326 11:33, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

Clearly I am misunderstanding this. I'll axe the last line anyway as a point granted. -209.95.36.62 (talk) 11:40, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

Darion Cousland arrives at the party and drinks some ale. He then decides to tell some of the other guest about the time he and Lazare went to a brothel and lost their clotes.Resulting in them running around the country of Fereldan naked on the quest to find more clotes. All the females blushing and squiling at all their manly glory. (Darion Cousland (talk) 14:22, October 20, 2014 (UTC))

There, Darion makes the fine lady gasp in pleasure. The mere sight of the fabled legendary warrior is a sight that makes kings tremble. The naked endeavour around Ferelden is entrenched in the history of Thedas as an unforgiving experience that the warrior and emperor learned. Looking back at the youthful days with great envy. There the ale ran out, and the mage conjured more of the sweetest wine that had ever been made. Lazare326 21:15, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

Haven't been on Much

Haven't been able to talk much lately. Been busy trying to save up money for a new game system and I am getting into PC gaming thanks to that free copy of DA Origins EA gave out last week and I got Skyrim. What's going on Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 13:46, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

The Keep is coming out (as a public beta) in 9 days. Felemeth is pregnant (again). Justice caught me peeping on some naked desire demons and kicked me out of the fade. Gotta find a mage to posess... And, most importantly, WELCOME, new convert... to the PC Master Race Cult ;) This message was brought to you by your friendly neighbourhood sloth demon Saba0th (talk) 19:25, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

The keep news made all the crybabies say it sucks, bad job, mommy clean my pants and all that shit that they are known for... fun times... now someone give my sword of a thousand dildos, I need to kill something to get this anger out of my system.--DaveManiac3 20:15, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
Sword needs repair, you've been using it too much. Dryden'll have it ready on October 25th. RShepard227 (talk) 00:39, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
We do have the Cherry Popin' Battleaxe. You might like this one more. It's made of High Dragon's bone, but that's not how it got it's name. B.S.S.T. (talk) 00:42, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
Sword's ready Dave. Mikhael modified it with starmetal, you can tell from the telltale blue veins in it. When you slash, it unleashes two smaller yet sharper dildos concealed within, like a switchblade, and they will release two more, up to nine times for a total of 1,023 serrated starmetal dildos. Click the pommel to retract them. It's a marvel of engineering he calls Starbang. May it serve you well. RShepard227 (talk) 02:21, October 25, 2014 (UTC)
My computer can't handle much games, I'm surprise it can run Skyrim. It runs a bit lower than the 360 version but its playable. Lag isn't bad. Weird since 'Can You Run It' said it wouldn't run.... I am only playing it to try out the mods. There are Mass Effet mods where you can use biotic powers and get ME characters as followers. Trying out the Star Wars mods first though. I'm already in the Keep closed beta so that is good news for some. And Dave, I learned long ago that people will cry and whine about anything. I just point and laugh and walk away like I have no clue who they are. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 21:23, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
I agree Dave, as soon as CrackFox posted that, the number of people who came in a complained about it was ridiculous. I'm in the beta and I haven't seen half the issues some people go on and on about. At the end of the day, they should be happy, since it's EA we're talking about and I'm sure they would have loved to charged us for the keep or hiked up the price of the game to accommodate the cost of its development. But, what I find both hilarious and incomprehensible is how some of the same old culprits moan about pretty much every step bioware take, and yet somehow they are still fans... I always thought if shit kept getting handed to you on a plate you went somewhere else for food, and left an angry message with the people in charge. But I get it, it's nice to have some hot heads when it comes to these sorts of situations, but at the same time its very disheartening. DeakialSig1 21:39, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
I like the realistic people well enough they provide an interesting look at some things, but it worries me how the anons will mock anyone for not sharing their same idiotic idealism. Fools, the whole lot of them, I say. B.S.S.T. (talk) 22:55, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
Believe It! has a lot to do with the negatives, going a bit over the top because they will be still calling The Keep a beta when it's released to everyone and saying that means it's not complete and will have problems with Inquisition. Still to be fair to him he's not as bad as some of the others and didn't deserve all the insults he got. --Xsari (Talk) 00:28, October 21, 2014 (GMT)
I remember I told Alexsau the same thing. He snapped back at me like an alligator. Of course it was different time and a different argument, but I believe if you tell the anons that "Believe It isn't that bad" they will snap back at you ten times harder than Alexsau did me. People make themselves angry and happy. It's all a matter of talking yourself up or talking yourself down. Those who understand that are far and few these days though. B.S.S.T. (talk) 23:39, October 20, 2014 (UTC)
Oh, I can hardly speak ill of the sense or conscience of any man simply for disagreeing with that character endorsement. You've met him. The man makes vipers seem personable. I mean he's been banned three times, once for impersonating admins.

-Damnyourtorturedlogic (talk) 01:44, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

I did include some of the Anons in my "general" statement. While I don't mind a discussion about the negatives that we've experienced, I feel that when you combine that with the way the anon's barge in spout their set in stone views about people criticizing it just makes the whole wiki suffer. Especially in the news blogs, having a discussion or an argument or just voicing your opinion in a forum, seems like a much safer option. At least we seem to be able to say what we want about pretty much anything here and don't get randoms come in and snap at us for it. DeakialSig1 23:43, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

The Straw That Broke The Camel's Back

OK, so this is kind of a rant, but not really. I don't know what to make of this. I've been informed that we are no longer being allowed attributes points upon level up. Now on the one hand this is good for balance because all the Inquisitors will have the same health and that makes the game's job to tell us what we are and aren't prepared for easier and more reliable. On the other hand it makes the game much more needlessly hard and gives you a lot less wiggle room. Now me I have devised a system to properly allocate all the attributes. 24 Constitution and Willpower for all Classes and then add in from there dependent on what class I am. This makes me survive all encounters and makes the game enjoyable. However with the new system put in place, where you get attributes from talents, armor, and weapons, I'll be playing the way Bioware wants me to play, not the way I'm comfortable playing. And that troubles me, because my play style is survival and dishing out abilities to cover myself in case I can't survive, but that whole play style flies out the window with this new system, which is very crafting orientated. I want your guys opinion on this. Am I bitching for nothing or is this really a problem? I feel like I'm complaining, but at the same time I don't know how I'll get by in Inquisition. B.S.S.T. (talk) 23:55, October 20, 2014 (UTC)

It's probably to cut down on min-maxing behaviors. They wanted to avoid a similar sentiment with customizing Skyhold, and I'm inclined to approve of this decision, as you'll have to think tactically to get through the zones, and your personal tactical skills will evolve as you advance from one zone to the next. I can't begin to describe the number of times I got fucked by holding myself back by worrying that if I put X points here, I won't have Y points there, and maybe I'll need them there more? In the end I wound up putting 3-4 level ups worth of points where I originally planned only at the most difficult point in a quest (Corrupted Spider Queen, Nexus Golem, Hybris, etc.) and wound up clearing them anyway, when I could have saved myself the trouble. In short, removing the attribute system means one less thing I have to worry about, and allows me to focus on strategy, logistics, and other far more immersing parts of the game. RShepard227 (talk) 00:51, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
Yes I can understand that, especially considering it happened to me far more than once. It's why I'm not shouting, "This is the worst thing ever and Bioware suxs!!1!1!!1!1!1!" I'm just worried is all. My biggest concern is that I won't have enough health poultices and that I'll be bereft of them when I need it the most, which would be offset by the 24 Constitution points I could have. And what happens when all these fancy new gadgets fail on me? When Barrier runs dry and Guard is left depleted because a miniboss was too strong what then? Hopefully they balanced the game, so that it's fair and I don't have to worry every five seconds about my poultices and begrudging Bioware for not letting me put more attribute points on Constitution. I wish they would have talked about this more than anything else. Attributes are how most, if not all, people define their playstyles. This could be a good idea, but it could also be a very bad idea. I just don't know. B.S.S.T. (talk) 01:03, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

I'm not particularly worried. Admittedly they haven't spoken about what will be in place of attributes, but there have been plenty of alternate level up systems over the years that allow for the obligatory Min/Maxing for people who enjoy that sort of thing without attributes. -209.95.36.61 (talk) 01:34, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

They haven't talked about it per se, but they have shown us how it will be different. There are weapons that give you attributes and some talents do too, so it's obvious how they're counterbalancing it, but gameplay wise I'm wondering how we'll be affected based on playstyle. B.S.S.T. (talk) 01:53, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
Until no anouncemt is made or i play the game I see this I shall not be dragged into discussing something that may or may not be.--DaveManiac3 14:11, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
I'm sorry Dave, but in the link above Laidlaw himself confirmed there are no more attributes on level up. I think they've balanced it out so it'll work out fine, but I'm still worried about my death rate. I don't like dying and starting over.
If you don't want to follow the link here's the tweet:
Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw 3m3 minutes ago
@Gladion20 No, assigning stats is not part of level up. They grow as you level, buy talents, and, notably, equip gear.
Mike Laidlaw ‏@Mike_Laidlaw 2m2 minutes ago
@Gladion20 Notable because you can find, craft and upgrade a wider variety of gear with stats more directly under your control. B.S.S.T. (talk) 14:24, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
There ya go equipment, I put in D&D terms and you only get an ability point every 4 levels and in some games not even that so it doesn't matter to me.--DaveManiac3 14:30, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, thinking more about it maybe this will work well. Perhaps I am just bitching for nothing. Thanks for being civil Dave, I know you don't like rants. B.S.S.T. (talk) 14:34, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
I hate 'em when people bitch without just because and all the time, this is your first and since I had ranted a few days back it's just fair... we are frustated 'cus we need our fix... our drug :P--DaveManiac3 15:17, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
Ah nah I know what you mean. Gotta remember man I hail from California, the land of Valley girls who get jealous over anything and bitch about everything. "OH. MY. GOSH. Becky is wearing the same top as me! That is so not cool, cause we like totes said not to do that anymore. Scoff She's just jealous of my perfect looks." Honestly they're worse than Orlesians. :P B.S.S.T. (talk) 15:23, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
At least this was a genuine concern and not just a rant because you didn't like something Bioware did. Like it has been the case with the various news articles in recent months. I was also concerned, but then I saw the twitch stream and my concern was alleviated when I saw the opportunity to have weapons and armor reflect things like that, and have a sword which can dish out walking bomb. THAT sounds epic. DeakialSig1 15:31, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
I like the fact that you don't upgrade attributes 'cus it's not like in 10 days you get stronger without any magical help, I liked my PnP RPG's to not allow attribute upgrade unless there was a valid reason.--DaveManiac3 16:05, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

In fairness, I don't mind it. From what I've seen, the armor you wear and weapons you use contribute to the attribute skills, and we have already seen that you can customize weapons and armor however you please. So I think this may be a nice change of pace. Rather than focus on leveling up to complete a section, you can go back to camp and respec what you wear and use. Although it does add the element that scavenging for materials becomes a necessity. But I will wait and see when the game comes out. DeakialSig1 14:21, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

So this really isn't a problem. I can still have my playstyle. In the twitch stream from yesterday at 25:18 Cameron shows Drakestone, which gives your weapon a constitution bonus. If I can get that bonus for armor, which I probably will be able to do, then I'll still have my playstyle and I'll be all good. Suppose I was just bitching for nothing. Thanks for the feedback, at least guys. B.S.S.T. (talk) 15:02, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

Based on what your saying it sounds like if we manage the weapons we get we should be able to control the attributes we can get as well, so if I want high strenght than all I have to do is equipt a weapon with a high strenght stat. This is Darion by the way I forgot to sighn in earlier lol. (Darion Cousland (talk) 17:23, October 21, 2014 (UTC))

Yup that's exactly it. The materials look like they give you different benefits, so I'm wondering if there's a material that can give me willpower and constitution, but I don't think there will be seeing as how Willpower's made for Mages and Constitution is for Warriors. B.S.S.T. (talk) 15:47, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
They're bound to have some kind of Constitution boosting gear for Mages & Rogues. Every class needs HP. It might not be as powerful as the set for warriors but I doubt it'll be absent. Guess we'll just have to compensate for that difference with careful tactics. Which to be fair they did say was what they were trying to achieve with the combat in this game.
-209.95.36.62 (talk) 16:15, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

I started thinking (Which might seem impossible) that people complained that DA2 was tactic-less and now that DA:I is soon to be out the idea I'm getting is that people don't want to too much tactics, but let's remember Dragon's Dogma was full of tactics and was still fun.--DaveManiac3 16:19, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

I never thought that criticism was entirely fair in regards to DA2. I had to put in some extensive planning to beat the game on Nightmare. I had to build my whole party very specifically to deal with friendly fire and similar things. It had plenty of fights that required careful planning and positioning, like the Starkhaven apostates and the tal-vashoth cave.
-209.95.36.62 (talk) 16:25, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah I know critics were to harsh with DA2, haters played it in easy :P--DaveManiac3 16:36, October 21, 2014 (UTC)
That's not saying much. I played DA: O on easy too. :P Thing is when you play a game long enough you devise tactics for it and every game does have tactics. Some are just more in your face than others. I learned exactly what items I needed to give Varric so he could open every single chest with only 24 cunning under his belt. I also learned that to beat the High Dragon you have to have ranged fighters, because she's stay perched on that rock like an annoying pigeon that poops on your car. There are tactics in DA2, just not as much as the Origin crowd wanted. Think they're alleviating that in DA: I though. B.S.S.T. (talk) 16:41, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

Inquisition

Damn, can't believe we're this close. I still remember the time when it was first announced at E3, finding a glimmer of hope in a wounded series. That glimmer has grown bigger, and it certainly looks promising. So, guys, till the count down to Inquisition we shall party all day, everyday. This is it though guys. But on the day of revelations, and the aftermath, i think it's best if we keep the Hanged Man, spoiler free, at least for a while. Lazare326 22:44, October 21, 2014 (UTC)

I have a $25 gift card to amazon so i think i may use that plus my own money for DAI on PC have it shipped straight to my house--WardenMaster (talk) 01:56, October 23, 2014 (UTC)

Hmm, now that I can think normally, I'm not buying it on midnight release. I'm just gonna go to the shop in the morning and get it. Saba0th (talk) 08:34, October 23, 2014 (UTC)

GOD! i have so many games coming out with in a weeks of each other AC rogue and Unity come out on the 11th then the next week is Inquisition!WardenMaster (talk) 01:43, October 22, 2014 (UTC)

There is only one game worth playing and it is called DA:I --DaveManiac3 13:20, October 22, 2014 (UTC)
I've recently bought Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen (X360) and, besides playing the guitar, it's taking away most of my freetime. But when I get DA:I, I'll be replaying it over and over, until I get bored, do something else, and then back to squeezing Inquisition until there'll be nothing new for me to find inside. Well then... Things just got quiet strange in here... And Dave in a major gamer I've played almost every Bioware game I've seen I even conquered DA:O I've yet to get every ending but Im also a fan of assassins creed (though I was disappointed severely by 3) now anyone else interested in seeing drunk companions in the tavern? It'd be hilarious to see it happen WardenMaster (talk) 16:36, October 22, 2014 (UTC)
Ahh man... There's that one bit of artwork which shows the group sitting around having a drink, I really really hope that we get to have a proper drink with some of our companions. Sera, Varric, Bull would definitely be drinkers, who else would be down to earth beer guzzlers. Viv is a connoisseur of fine wines I think. Oh, and I want to let Cole try beer, then see what he does after... DeakialSig1 16:54, October 22, 2014 (UTC)

Age of Ultron Trailer

For those that haven't heard yet, the Avengers Age of Ultron trailer got released a few hours ago. Its epic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tmeOjFno6Do&feature=youtu.be Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 01:59, October 23, 2014 (UTC)

Well first off i'm going to warn you i'm going to tell you things i found wrong with this movie already

  • 1. Pietro Maximoff has the same silver hair as his father erik lansher aka Magneto he's not a blonde
  • 2. they don't show enough of Wanda's powers to truley say whether she will be a disappointment but it looks like they went for the looks rather than who would actually fit her
  • 3. a battle between iron man's hulkbuster armor and hulk would destroy that city and end with whoever's in the suit in the nearly dead because the hulk has no limit the angrier he gets the stronger he gets

those are some of the things I found wrong with this movie already i grew up learning to read with marvel comic books once I see the movie I will know whether it was worth my money--WardenMaster (talk) 02:19, October 23, 2014 (UTC)

You're thinking too much in to it. Pietro's gotta be different in this version of the MCU because they can't use the word mutant, or the character Magneto. So they've already dropped a large portion of the characters background. I think they're avoiding showing off Wanda's powers because they are pivotal to the story. And in truth, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a robot piloting the hulk buster, and that they do destroy the city. They can't show everything in the story, we still have like half a year to wait. DeakialSig1 12:11, October 23, 2014 (UTC)
Quicksilver was seen with white hair on the film set so the blonde hair is probably just before he unlocks his powers or something, so flashback maybe.

I don't really know much about Quicksilver or Scarlet Witch (only heard of them due to the movie).

Its possible Ultron is controlling the hulkbuster armor. He did that in Earth's Mightiest Heroes show. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 12:15, October 23, 2014 (UTC)

I need this movie... already told my GF that is her gift to me in my birthday, to watch that movie at the premier!!!--DaveManiac3 14:07, October 23, 2014 (UTC)

The trailer was amazing. Really was. I don't care how much they divert from the comics since it is the MCU. This an BvS; damn it's such a good time to be a superhero film fan. Lazare326 19:29, October 23, 2014 (UTC)

New Admin

Hello everyone! I am HD3, the newest Admin here on the Dragon Age Wikia. Now that I am officially an admin, I've recorded a short clip to mark my thoughts on the occasion.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iDjEjHTYk4I

In all seriousness though, I would like to take a brief moment to thank my mentor here on the wiki, Viktoria Landers and Kelcat, my long time collaborator in more than a few wiki projects. If any of you have any concerns which necessitate an admin's attention or indeed just questions about Dragon Age in general, feel free to contact me on my user page.

The Black Glove

For any Bioshock or Bioshock infinite fans, apparently after Ken Levine closed Irrational Games the team went off and started their own project which they just released the trailer for today:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/theblackglove/the-black-glove

Sorry its on a kickstarter page, there doesn't seem to be any way to embed the trailer link. Hope thats not breaking any rules.

-206.190.136.246 (talk) 05:05, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

Interesting... I dunno if I should support 'cus I hate it if the did not get made, I only supported Project Eternity and Planes of Numeria. I feel al the kickstarters could be a way to rob people.--DaveManiac3 14:09, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

Actually this does look pretty trippy. And if its by the mob who made Bioshock that is probably a pretty safe bet it'll be good quality. Think I might just back this.
-HD3 Sig 14:14, October 28, 2014 (UTC)
I do not doubt the people behind it are good, but they do not have the backup of a mayor company anymore, the kickstarter hype has died down, putting out a self published game out there is not easy and cheap (talking about console gaming) and getting a good gaming rig outside the US is not cheap, so I'll follow the games development but will not think the game will be made for PS4 or any console for that matter and I do not have the cash (in other words, permissions from wifey) for a good PC gaming rig (Vacations are our priority). --DaveManiac3 14:25, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

50 Shades of Grey Warden

Only you know your Warden, right? So, put yourself into that personality, what chat up lines would your grey warden use to get his gal or guy? Bring em on. Is he the suave dude, the honourable gentlemen/woman, the dirty cocky person, or the silent type, who just uses his/her eyes to get em in bed. Lazare326 14:48, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

This is going to take a while since one of my Wardens is definitely the cold-silent type that romanced Morrigan. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 14:57, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

I'd like to think that my warden was the diplomatic, noble type that felt in love with Morrigan 'cus she was a nice girl that shielded herself with assholery and my warden saw beyond that and was nice to her. But in reality he was a player he made out with Leliana and every girl that he could :P.

So, how would he play the girls? he'd make them feel special like the queen of the world, take em to bed and them leave 'em :P. Still Morrigan was the queen of his heart 'cus she was just as nice as he was (in the bottom of their hearts). --DaveManiac3 15:02, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

(Stolen, but still good) My city elf rogue would go up to Zevran with handfuls of limes, drop them in front of him and then clumsily start to pick them up, but they'd keep slipping out of her hands. When he asks what she's doing she'd say, "Sorry, I'm bad at pick up limes." *ba-dum-tss!* Chantry symbol King Cousland | Talk   15:07, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

LMAO... that was awesome... But I'd like to think my warden and Morrigan are into BDSM... I can just imagine her saying OOh great Grey Warden spank me like a naughty Witch of the Wilds or shit like that--DaveManiac3 15:14, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

Simple, my Warden would just walk up to Alistair and say "Clothes off" and he would reply "Yes Mistress" --Xsari (Talk) 16:18, October 28, 2014 (GMT)

*Takes out popcorn* Please do go on...--DaveManiac3 16:40, October 28, 2014 (UTC)
Then he shags her in Morrigan's tent, never did get why ALL the sex scenes in Origins were in that tent. I always imagined Morrigan catching them and saying "By the Maker get the f*** out my tent!!!" --Xsari (Talk) 17:49, October 28, 2014 (GMT)
I once took a girl back to the apartment, gave my flatmate cash for him to go to the cinema and ended up shagging that girl in the couch and my flatmates room... fun times, he came back and screamed why is there some weird girl and used condoms in my room XD--DaveManiac3 18:09, October 28, 2014 (UTC)
I always assumed that the warden and alistair had an unspoken pact, THAT tent is the sex tent. Morrigan just enjoys sleeping there, hoping someone will spoon with her... DeakialSig1 18:22, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

I know my warden just said "Nice tits" to Isabela. That led to the conversation about sex, and then it was just "Threesome?" to Leliana. And boom went the dynamite. DeakialSig1 16:43, October 28, 2014 (UTC)

My Warden would probily walk up to the gal and say. "If I was the Maker I would choose you to be my Andraste." It probily sucked, but it's the best I could come up with right now lol.(Darion Cousland (talk) 18:07, October 28, 2014 (UTC))

Community Q&A

427 comments. That must be a new record. Your Perfection, were you really so worried about my merry band crashing the blog system? In seriousness, what was the point of people even posting their burning questions? They got buried within an hour, and I fully expect Wikia to just pick the same boilerplate questions about the Warden, romance, Elder One, or some other detail that's probably been answered already to the farthest extent Bioware's going to answer it. Anyone else have a similar impression? RShepard227 (talk) 04:01, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

Oh fuck yeah. There were some really good questions in there, especially Alexsau's, and wikia will probably overlook all of them in favor of those idiotic anon questions who could have just done as Grey said and researched their damn question! They apathetic lazy attitude has fucked us over grand. We'll learn in time of course, but would one rather have a shitstorm now or a shitstorm later? Might as well get it over with in my opinion. I need a drink. Where's Oghren I want to go pick fights with him to ease my tension. B.S.S.T. (talk) 04:10, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

That's a bit of an antagonistic attitude there BSST. I know "some" anons can be a bit disregarding and idiotic, but then again, so can some users. It's likely that the people picking them out will pick some that they haven't already come across, and tbf, BioWare's going to want to re-clarify some of the questions posed by some of the anons. Some actually asked interesting questions, as did some users. Let's not generalise really. I'm not picking a fight here with you buddy, you know better than that.
And, by the way, there have been blogs with more comments in the past I think.Lazare326 10:43, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah I'm being a bit of an asshole. It's not the anons I'm at odds with it's the questions they ask. All it takes is one simple trip to google and typing in your question, or maybe I don't know ASK IT ON THE ANSWERS WIKI, to get an answer. Some of these questions are just infuriating. "Can we get a pet" "Can we get arrested" "Can Inquisitor wear crown" Why in the Maker's name is that important to you? Then we have good questions like, "Who's the NPC you can flirt (not romance) with?" "Will Elves be able to ride Halla?" "Can you please explain the approval system?" Good questions, but my question is are they all getting a fair share and being looked at or are you just taking easy questions as to not piss off Darrah or the fans? I want Alexsau's question answered. I want to know why they preach about player choice when it comes to combat and crafting, but the second you go into Skyhold all that goes away. You can pick what Skyhold looks like, but you can't pick what you wear, why? That is my question and Alex said it much better than I. That's all I want to know. Why? To be fair, even if that question was at the top I have my highest doubts that Darrah would answer it. Even if he did see how we talked about it. Maybe I just need a long island iced tea to ease my tensions and chill out. Thanks for letting me vent Laz. B.S.S.T. (talk) 12:59, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
You can't choose what to wear for super duper-absolutely-makes-sense story reasons. A.K.A Cole chose the outfit for you, and Cole will murder everyone in Thedas if you don't wear it. And he will burn the turnips... DeakialSig1 14:26, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

Main reason I didn't post a question. Well that and I couldn't think of anything anyone wasn't already asking... --Xsari (Talk) 09:59, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

The reason I did not ask anything is because any burning or important question I had has been answered in any of the 1000000+ videos and interview they've had (there are a lot of eyes on this game), anything not important can wait until release.

Anons ask stupids things? yeah but so are many of the questions asked at this moment, Alexau's question... I do not care 'cus that tiny detail will not be important on the grand scheme of things.

Look, Bioware can make a shitty linear game and in the end if the story is good I will not give a flying fuck about choice and all that, I will love the game 'cus THE STORY was good that what a game is A STORY like in cinema. And yes I do believe games like art 'cus some are just like movies and if a movie is art so is a game.

Make what youw ant of this but I do believe BSST is making a shallow point, you're angry at the anons for being dumb? that i can agree but I look at them as 13 year olds that post pics in Facebook about fucking 10 girls at once.--DaveManiac3 15:23, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

Approves (+100000) DeakialSig1 21:37, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

I say the best way to deal with haters is to talk about all the things you like about The Keep and ignore the whining. Who's having fun with The Keep besides me? I'm totally surprised--in a good way--at some of the choices they've included. Really in-depth look at the whole series, huh? It's fun to have it all there available for us, especially with choices I make seldom to never, like the dwarf noble's child. I don't think I've ever done that. I knew about it, but I've played as a male dwarf noble maybe once, and not much beyond the origin story. --Death by Cheese (talk) 21:52, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

I didn't even know about that child, it was truly amazing to see an option I had never known existed. And I really like the keep, might be lacking in awakening detail but then thats just an indication that most of that isn't important at the moment. DeakialSig1 22:14, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

Some people sure have high requirements. They wanted too much from the Keep, and in their minds it failed to deliver. But it was supposed to not be overly complicated/complex for the sake of the newbies, else they be overwhelmed by choices they don't know the meaning of. That, and probably many of the little choices weren't relevant to DA:I, so they dropped them for later. To sum up, I don't give a damn about all those haters and nitpickers. The Keep is functional and stable (at least on my end). It has all the core choices and then some, also more should be added later (eg. Awakening, it's just asking for more) as the work is not over yet. I'd say have patience, people. Saba0th (talk) 22:00, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

What more can anyone ask for. It functions, its stable, its free. AND theres plenty of room for more stuff. I think some people are just butthurt that their wardens don't get the attention they want, like no specializations and whatnot. But I think the most important choice is there, did they drink the concoction or not. DeakialSig1 22:14, October 29, 2014 (UTC)

Hope this isn't being detected at me as well. My only problems with it is that there are some minor issues with it on an iPad. In some sections you can't select choices with the iPad in landscape mode. Even in portrait mode the lock icon is mostly cut off, can only just about be selected. Some cases you can't lock the answers at all. Also the video with Varric telling the story sometimes freezes and doesn't play well. With the missing choices for the Awakening companions I'm guessing they just won't have any effect on Inquisition but I was hoping for some choices about whether they become Wardens and survive. --Xsari (Talk) 23:11, October 29, 2014 (GMT)

I'm experiencing mostly the same issues on my iPad. The video only lags heavily, but sometimes the whole Keep stops responding to taps, and I have to close the tab and log into it again. Maybe it's just not optimized for that. Saba0th (talk) 23:22, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
In fairness the mobile and tablet version hasn't been out for very long. Its just barely usable for me on my galaxy s4, but meh, I can use my laptop. DeakialSig1 23:25, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
I would never direct anything bad towards you mistress... it is to the people over at the hating Keep posts that want more detail "'cus I want to replay DA:O on web"--DaveManiac3 23:58, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
Good, then I won't have to punish you now... --Xsari (Talk) 00:32, October 30, 2014 (GMT)
NOOOOOOOOOO!! punish me please!!! XD --DaveManiac3 00:50, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

I want to be punished too!!! XD (Darion Cousland (talk) 16:57, October 31, 2014 (UTC))

And they want to continue playing as the warden and don't want anyone to ever replace their beloved warden...DeakialSig1 23:59, October 29, 2014 (UTC)
Because he became king and never dissapeared and became a god and... you get where I'm going :P.
BTW Deakial, liked my world???--DaveManiac3 00:03, October 30, 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, we'll end up talking about those small number of people who never played DA2, yet still preach about how "awful" it is. I see where you're going, and I agree.
Yeah, your world's not bad. DeakialSig1 00:15, October 30, 2014 (UTC)
You know, I think we'll never see our Warden again. There'll just be an entry that he/she answered their Calling and BLAM! See how those haters like that! >:D Saba0th (talk) 00:08, October 30, 2014 (UTC)
lol, that would be such a great troll move!!!--DaveManiac3 00:11, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Maker yes. First its "our choices don't have enough impact" now its "these choices have too much impact!" despite not even knowing how much impact said choice may or may not have.

What exactly is going on? I haven't been able to run the Keep because I've been running diagnostic tests with Harley. B.S.S.T. (talk) 01:21, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Open beta launched. Haters started hating, more than they had already, because the NDA finished. That pretty much sums it up to a T. DeakialSig1 01:57, October 30, 2014 (UTC)
I only played on it for fifteen minutes before diagnostics testing, but the only thing I had problems with was the audio. I didn't hear any when the slide show was playing and everything was grey, but I think it was supposed to be grey. Aside from that I liked it. Can't organize it all that well since you can't use custom names, but it was good in my opinion. B.S.S.T. (talk) 02:45, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Warden-Commander approves Approves (+14). I'm glad Oghren survives no matter what, by the looks of the Keep. Beyond that, the content is what I expected, and I'm pleasantly surprised at its operating condition. Even with the occasional error message and having to refresh the page, I didn't lose anything. I would like to be able to copy my Default World State into a blank one, then just load the copy, change one thing, and save that as the alternative, but in the Keep's current condition I can only re-do the whole tapestry to implement the change I want kept separate. I also hope those "challenges" aren't held against us from getting some unique perk or item in the actual game for having 100% in all departments. It hasn't stopped us from writing in the DLC decisions (even if they aren't recognized as downloaded/installed), which was the original intent of the Keep, and I am happy with what's come out. RShepard227 (talk) 04:56, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Oh man. Long day. Spent like... 4 hours(?) working with Harley on videos. Finally got to the Keep just now. Really enjoyed it. It was everything I was expecting and more, a lot more too. Don't get why people hate it. Though I do have one quarm. How do I make more world states? Wasn't it stated that there would be five, nine by the today I think, world states you can make? I'm only getting one. B.S.S.T. (talk) 05:11, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Never mind; figured it out. Now I have to make nine of these. *Deep breathe* That's gonna be a long Sunday. B.S.S.T. (talk) 06:03, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Wait B.S.S.T. how do you make more world states? I can't figure it out.(Darion Cousland (talk) 17:00, October 31, 2014 (UTC))

I don't quite understand that mindset either BS and I mean the keep is still in Beta.

Beware BEWARE. Spoilers are around!

Thought I'd give you guys a heads up, more spoilers have leaked. The official achievement list, accompanied by images... DeakialSig1 02:49, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Will be avoiding that then... --Xsari (Talk) 12:21, October 30, 2014 (GMT)

There were some good spoils in there. Oh did you see that one about [Explicit] and the other one about [Explicit] and I think I saw [Explicit] holding [Explicit] in front of a fire place. So it looks like we have some tender moments when it comes to romance. Wonder what Josie's moments will be like. Wonder what Cassandra's moments will be like. B.S.S.T. (talk) 13:27, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

In fairness the names of the achievements aren't at all spoilery, the official descriptions are somewhat spoilery. The images are super spoilery. So if anyone wants to know what the achievements are, without being spoiled I can list them out here in a safe format. DeakialSig1 13:30, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

I looked at the pictures and found nothing overly spoiling it showed a few things but I had already thought some of these would be in the game to me nothing has been spoiled--WardenMaster (talk) 15:46, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

I still wouldn't encourage looking at them if you want to remain spoiler free. DeakialSig1 15:52, October 30, 2014 (UTC)
that's true I dont like a lot of spoilers--WardenMaster (talk) 16:22, October 30, 2014 (UTC)

Y'all got it wrong the elder one is actually the inquisitor inside the inquisitors mind while all of these happenings in the dragon age universe is all just a figment of the inquisitors broken mind--WardenMaster (talk) 17:33, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

Shameless Advertising

SO me and my bro Harley created this stupid little let's play thing together where we provide Commentary on the game Transistor. If you guy's wanna check it out here's the link. We're thinking of doing something similar for Inquisition when it released. Feedback would be awesome, but it's not absolutely needed. Thanks for watching at least. Sorry for the off topic tangent. So Dragon Age! B.S.S.T. (talk) 02:10, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

Harley was talking about kidneys and I was talking about balls and stones and other hard things. B.S.S.T. (talk) 05:24, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

Your first DA:Wiki experiences

We've been here for a while now and it may be hard to remember, but guys, what is it about this wiki that kept you here? When did you get here? I can remember my first experience. I got DAO, well after its release date, and I loved that game. Came across this wiki, as an anon like around 2010/11, and saw all these amazing forums and theories that people would pose. It fascinated me, that a group of people ran this community, which interacted with so much intrigue, albeit a bit anger sometimes. But it was awesome. I went away for a bit, but after DA2 I returned for a bit. But still, I would visit this place often. Not posting, rather spectating. Lazare326 02:38, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

For the most part, you guys are awesome. Despite the occasional flamer (Drell, and there was also the guy who kept foaming about bringing the Qun to the real world), and the occasional removal of an article that I worked so hard on, this place has been much more welcoming to my contributions than the Mass Effect Wiki. After ME3 ended on a sour note (made slightly better with the Citadel DLC), I left MEA and started coming here more actively. I feel like I've put much more effort into Dragon Age (particularly Nightmare DA2) than Mass Effect, despite sinking more time into the latter, and any time news about Inquisition comes out I like what I see. Almost like Bioware's still alive in there somewhere and trying to make great games, rather than cashing out and fully embracing the EA Doctrine. So here I remain, waiting for Inquisition, getting to know you people better than the users elsewhere, and looking forward to writing strategies for our many messy battles ahead. RShepard227 (talk) 05:47, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

I was a lurker for year since during the DA 2 days, made an account earlier this year. There are some good people, some people who I feel like are just hating here and some trolls. But, overall, the DA Wiki is a nice place. Supergodzilla118 (talk) Supergodzilla118 14:55, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

Well, my first experience of the wiki was back when I was at university. Had I not been so busy, I would have stayed around a bit longer than I did. But I literally came here just to share a theory, and then I kind of vanished... Then I came back because of the news blogs and the interesting reads. The more "open minded" people here are why I've stayed. Some people have really gotten on my tits so much that I've thought about logging out and throwing abuse at them anonymously. But I've always resisted. Anons have a bad name already. But it really is a shame, how a small number of users cause such strife among the fans. I must say though I am really looking forward to playing coop with people who I actually like and who know the game and are real dedicated fans. Thanks for that you lovely bunch, I hope theres a tavern in the MP we can all meet up in and drink virtual ale... DeakialSig1 18:54, October 31, 2014 (UTC)

I'm not one for sentimentality I've lost enough to know when not to get attached, but I must say I do love this place. I bought Dragon Age: Origins way back in October of 2011, three years ago, seems so long ago now and I've come so far. I encountered the wiki, perhaps, on my third or fifth playthrough and started using it to better understand the game. I lurked around here for a few months before I decided to start an account, but I never came over to the actual wiki and contributed. The people had a system here and I didn't want to tamper with it. I was blind to the goings on in this wiki, for I had gone over to the Answers Wiki and began to make my home there. I cleaned up all the questions and gave smartass bullshit answers to all the trolls. After a time I left that wiki, but I knew it was in good hands. Towards end of the year in 2013 I learned of Dragon Age: Inquisition and began scrounging for news for it. The wiki gave me all the news I wanted to know, so I began commenting and stayed here. I don't really remember my first experience, but looking at my contributions I can say one thing. I was quite the asshole in my first year on the wiki. Wow I don't want to look at my contributions ever again. Damn I feel bad about myself now. B.S.S.T. (talk) 15:34, November 1, 2014 (UTC)

Rousing Speech

I decided to redo my speech here. Bunch of buzzkills in the "gone gold" blog, I figure the drunken louts here will appreciate it more. Remember that my sword is drawn in my left hand, right foot forward, elbows back and chest puffed as I say this:

"This is it men! And women, of course women, never forget that women are just as brave and smart and capable as we are! (Happy Anita?) Our preparations are complete, and we march to war! After three years of setbacks and defeats, of insults and death threats, we have finally come to the moment when we push the slanderous and hateful bastards back to the 4chan forums they crawled from! All of this is possible because of the edits and contributions and sacrifices of every person here, and every person who came before and is sadly no longer here. Today we march to November 18th, where we will cut off the Elder One's head in the greatest battle since the days of the Old Republic! And on that day, the Maker will turn his gaze and see Bioware as it was meant to be, full of devs who are mighty, powerful, and free! Ready now! Everyone with me! For Ferelden! For Orlais! For the Inquisition!!!"

Very out of character for me, but I haven't been pumped about a game in a long time. Now, onward to battle then. In war, victory, and so forth. RShepard227 (talk) 02:19, November 2, 2014 (UTC)

A very rousing speech. Here's hoping the message gets through to those who could take a cue from the sentiment. -HD3 Sig 12:16, November 2, 2014 (UTC)

I'll buy the game and play the fuck out of it, but fuck the haters... I dunno if this is my last post here but here it is, my final song...

And so the mighty warrior known as the maniac hung his sword and removed his armor, he could not take it anymore, he was getting old for this type of pointless fights. He drank his last glass of ale and paid for everything, the inquisition might be his last fight as he did not want to know what the next generation had to offer, he might take a glance while on town but now he was good and done. Goodbye old friends take care and fight on.

In other words, fuck this shit I really do not care what happens. One tries to help and gets beaten down badly, second the haters are too much for me and finally, I really don't give a shit about new games... except Murdered: soul suspect and DA:I... It's weird for me to say this (as I'm the type of guy that hates loosing) but HEY INTERNET, YOU WON TAKE MY SWORD AND SPIRIT BECAUSE I DO NOT GIVE A FLYING FUCK WHAT YOU DO TO ME! --DaveManiac3 20:56, November 3, 2014 (UTC)

DA needs Bruce Lee

So today I watched the first Bruce Lee movie I've ever seen all the way through and I just thought how funny would it be to have like Chuck Norris or Bruce Lee easter eggs I mean DA is severely lacking in the martial arts stuff --WardenMaster (talk) 23:02, November 2, 2014 (UTC)

Looks like a Cinematic trailer for DAI is coming soon

Looking at the 15 second Dragon Age Inquisition - The Breach Teaser recently uploaded to the wiki it's pretty clear the images aren't from in game. I'm excited to see the full version, except for the ultra blonde weird looking Varric. Vivienne also looks too young to me but we'll see when it is released properly. I'm guessing Dave will be very pleased the game is getting one. Random question is CGI or Cinematic the right way to describe this sort of trailer? --Xsari (Talk) 23:19, November 3, 2014 (GMT)

CGI is Computer Graphics Image and Cinematic is the animation style, I think. So Cinematic is the right way to say it. I certainly hope we'll get a Cinematic Trailer! Though I do agree with you that Varric looks... off. B.S.S.T. (talk) 23:58, November 3, 2014 (UTC)

Inquisition Banana Prediction

DAIBananaPrediction

Anyone heard of the banana fortune telling test? It's were you ask a banana a yes or no question then cut the end of the bottom off and it will show either a Y or a N. I asked the banana if Dragon Age: Inquisition would be a really great game and it said yes! Could this be a good omen or do banana's lie? Random I know but I'd thought I'd try it out. Try it next time you have a banana and see what you get! --Xsari (Talk) 17:15, November 5, 2014 (GMT)

I'm sorry, but you did what to a banana? Xsari, I think you need to spend more time with people and less time with fruit. I worry about you, sister. B.S.S.T. (talk) 02:21, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
That's a new level of whimsical antisociability, we're officially changing your name to Daisy, or Merrill. RShepard227 (talk) 02:40, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
I'd definitely go with Daisy. She strikes me as a Daisy. B.S.S.T. (talk) 02:48, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
I'm shocked, I'm very sociable! All my friends like the banana prediction, we have banana parties! Wait that sounds wrong... But yeah really I just saw it on TV and thought I'd try it as a joke, I'm not actually that crazy my mother had me tested. Maybe I do fit Merrill better then Leliana, I like mirrors and even have this wierd old one that's cracked and doesn't reflect... --Xsari (Talk) 13:50, November 6, 2014 (GMT)
Here, Xsari. Something tells me you're gonna need this. B.S.S.T. (talk) 14:58, November 6, 2014 (UTC)
