g'day folks, I was perusing the Exalted Plains tag on Tumblr and found something interesting. someone has found an ancient and clearly magical ancient Tevinter tower along the edges of the exalted plains. here is the post detailing more. http://lairofsentinel.tumblr.com/post/111607065106 I have not finished the game yet (so I am avoiding spoilers), but apparently the same kind of tower can be found in the Eluvian. What do you all make of this? WhisperingElf (talk) 00:54, March 12, 2015 (UTC)WhisperingElf

I'm not sure if the ancient Tevinter empire ever stretched that far, but if it did, then naturally there would be some ruins in the area. Honestly I'm more surprised by that Eluvian. Too bad we can't reach any of that stuff. Silver Warden (talk) 01:44, March 12, 2015 (UTC)

Tevinter definitely reached Orlais. The Imperial Highway, which was built at the height of the Imperium's power, extends into Ferelden, which is only accessible overland through Orlais. So, this being a Tevinter structure is perfectly possible. Your Humble Magister, TheFereldenMagister (talk) 02:20, March 12, 2015 (UTC)

It looks kinda similar the old elven ruins tower that you access after repairing the bridge in the northern part of the plains. As for the archway, I'm pretty sure it's not an eluvian, though it could have had one once, I think it's accessible after clearing the rubble and going into the bog to the north east where you do the Heart of Snow White quest and where the Plains Dragon nests. I think there's a quarry there or something, but that's it. SenjiBen (talk) 09:14, March 12, 2015 (UTC)

Tbh, that tower looks as though the Tevinter has been added on to it at the very top. Its very different to the ones from the western approach, and also not very "spiky", which happens to be how the game artists decided to make tevinter architecture unique. And like SenjiBen said, it looks very similar to the tower across the broken bridge, one of the pics even looks like its shooting the magic beam thingy too.

As for the archway, while it is not an Eluvian anymore, I believe it could have been. But more importantly, and this is going to have to be something I run and check out, the imagery surrounding it is different to the one shown in the Eluvian (A wolf howling and a dragon bowing its head, and two dragons bowing their heads) as well as throughout most of the game (where the eluvians are in a "case"). This one shows two howling wolves... One white, one black... so its possible it was created after Andraste, or that it held a very unique Eluvian. DeakialSig1 19:06, March 12, 2015 (UTC)

I'm liking that 'unique Eluvian' idea. unique in that it had something to do with Tevinter, because the Tevinter symbol is a dragon o.O. but the tower that lairofsentinel saw was the one that was blasting those rays in the Citadelle de Corbeau? Yeah I'd gathered as much. The angles of his images didn't show the area beneath, just that door. The Eluvian being linked to tevinter idea is interesting... and thats all I'll say since you haven't finished the game. But the one in question, the empty archway, has two wolves. So, definitely not tevinter. More likely it was an eluvian dedicated to serving Fen'harel. Or leads to the place where Fen'harel imprisoned the gods... and was then hidden or destroyed by Fen'harel... curiouser and curiouser... DeakialSig1 21:59, March 12, 2015 (UTC)

Are you sure it isn't the elven fry-beam superweapon tower in the Valmont camp? That looks just like it. --MadCat221 (talk) 02:37, March 13, 2015 (UTC)

Nah, you have to enter the base of the tower that shoots at you to complete a certain quest, but the one in the pics has it's base up on a hillside. SenjiBen (talk) 03:52, March 13, 2015 (UTC)
I know about Solas' true identity =) also walking by that Eluvian unlocks a codex / contains a note that talks about the attention that the elves paid to Fen'Harel, how they gave him offerings only to keep him from getting angry / out of obligation WhisperingElf (talk) 23:32, March 13, 2015 (UTC)WhisperingElf

then the tower is there probly just to flesh out the skyline WhisperingElf (talk) 23:38, March 13, 2015 (UTC)WhisperingElf
