Need a competent scripter/programmer to write a DA2 equivalent to this little script I've used while working on DAO/DAA mechanics-related sections of this wiki: http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/209754/dump-sl.zip

Usage guidelines: 1. Make sure your log is enabled: http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Logging 2. Then just put the *.ncs files somewhere in the override folder; run with the debug console: runscript dump-sl 3. Look at the sources to figure out the output format. Only enemies your hero perceives are dumped.

Why is this important? I've already spotted a few contradictions between talent descriptions per .tlk file and their actual in-game effect (mostly attack speed related). Which means, I'm going to need to test the talents thoroughly. This wiki should present actual game mechanics info, not just repeat in-game tooltips.

I'll look over http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Scripting_overview sometime to see what I might be able to come up with. Not making any promises that I'll be able (or have the ambition to) do much, though.
Source files for the dump-sl would likely be helpful.

Have you looked through the Excel file referred to in http://social.bioware.com/wiki/datoolset/index.php/Ability#Q:_Where_do_we_find_the_exact_formula_for_abilities_.3F ? Primal Zed (talk) 21:20, March 9, 2011 (UTC)
Of course. ABI_base.xls was immensely helpful in its day, while I was working on DAO/DAA mechanics, but there is no ABI_base.xls file available for DA2. IN (talk) 23:26, March 9, 2011 (UTC)

Have you actually tried the script? It may work (depending on what changes were made to the engine). If it doesn't work, you are likely out of luck until there is a new toolset. The source is in the zip file. 217.251.243.14 (talk) 21:59, March 9, 2011 (UTC)

Sure. It doesn't work for DA2. Worked flawlessly for both DAO and DAA in its day, though. IN (talk) 23:26, March 9, 2011 (UTC)
Since it looks like the old toolset doesn't apply anymore, you're going to have to wait until Bioware releases a toolset for DA2 before anything can be done. Primal Zed (talk) 14:42, March 10, 2011 (UTC)
