So our Inquisitor comes from a near death experience as the last survivor of a battle (would be funny if saved by Morrigan like Flemeth did for the Warden) but whos funding this little operation? Alistair, The Devine? kinda also wondering what the reasoning for our character will be doing this? im hoping it will be a bit more personal like a New main bad guy wronged them and it being a quest of revenge ill have to ponder more on it any takers how would you do it or hope the birth of the Inquisiton goes Star Metal Knight (talk) 06:03, March 2, 2014 (UTC)

The Inquisition is found by the Inquisitor, not any monarch or any church. Inquisitor is a self-proclaimed savior of the world nobody asked for help. I think the game will begin with show how the veil is torn and then player chooses race, gender and class of own Inquisitor and the story goes into prt of the world, where the main character with certain parameters begins. It would be too convinient coincidence, when all possible combinations of main character are in one place and the player chooses one of them.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 06:49, March 2, 2014 (UTC)

I think there'll probably be the usual Dragon Age game intro, then you choose race, class, etc., then the actual game starts and the cataclysm occurs. The Seekers probably have something to do with elevating the Inquisitor to their position, which is why you see Cassandra popping up all over the place, looking like she's in charge of something. That's probably why she joins the Inquisition, to keep the Seekers involved, to try to influence you somehow. I'm not saying she'd be like a bad guy, or a puppeteer, since she's buddy-pals with Varric and all, but the companions do have their own agendas. But I think she'll probably be your first companion, because of Seeker involvement. The Seekers are probably the ones who find you after the cataclysm and decide you're some special snowflake, and wham-bam, you're the Inquisitor. Then of course you'll blast out onto the scene and starting Inquisitioning and bizz. Marleysauce (talk) 15:55, March 4, 2014 (UTC)

No, the Seekers don't create the new inquisition, it doesn't belong to the church, Cassandra is likely divine's spy or a defector.FirstDrellSpectre (talk) 07:13, March 5, 2014 (UTC)
Oh really and who it is then, Varric?112.200.0.60 (talk) 11:21, March 5, 2014 (UTC)

He didn't say that the seekers founded the inquisition. Thats like saying how flemeth found the warden, she is the finder of the wardens :). I think it will be the typical war thing around the veil as the devs did say you are at the centre of things when it happens. Would love their to be some sort of backgrounds as to why you are there, e.g. rogue human or elf, being an antivan crow sent there etc. Or Warrior sent by gaspard, celine, alistair etc. ---Lazare326 (talk)>

"She" Lazare :). Anyhoo, in case you're forgetting, Drell, (SPOILER ALERT) the Seekers separated from the chantry. At the end of Asunder, Lord Seeker Lambert split off from the chantry in the hopes of recreating a new, harsher circle of magi. What Cassandra's involved in might be a splinter of that new organization, but we won't really know until the game comes out. What I was saying was that whoever she's involved with might be the ones who find the Inquisitor after the cataclysm, and that's why she, as a Seeker, is so openly involved. I'm not saying the chantry or the Seekers are running the Inquisition, because that obvs wouldn't fly. And there's that piece of concept art, with the female Inquisitor holding up a flag as she's elevated to the position of Inquisitor, and the woman in robes next to her looks an awful lot like a chantry sister, and the other redheaded woman almost looks to me like Leliana. Pure speculation, of course. I'm just sayin'. Marleysauce (talk) 13:59, March 5, 2014 (UTC)

If we're speculating, I'd like to join in. Marleysauce did spark something in my mind. If i remember wasn't Leliana and Cassandra sent by the divine as a "last hope" option to find the champion? Which means they're a small sub-sec of Seekers still loyal to the Chantry. What if our Character in DA:I is just some kind of mercenary hired by a different ex-seeker. The ex-Seeker hires a bunch of people of skill, tells a few tales of what it used to mean to be a seeker, and how it all started as the inquisition... next day the demons invade, kill everyone, and you are the only survivor. So, you think "Well, if the inquisition used to be this awesome organization, to honor the ex-seeker leader I'll start a new inquisition." This is the only scenario I can come up with that would explain how a Qunari, or a mage, or a dwarf, or elf would be involved with an organization that was remotely close to the Chantry.
