So I was watching some of the let's plays of Trespasser by FluffyNinjaLlama (I don't own it since I only have a PS3) when I noticed something interesting. !!SPOILERS!!

In one of the videos [1] where Leliana was killed at the Temple of Sacred Ashes in DAO but not made divine the epilogue slide showed that Leliana DID die but was either sustained by lyrium or became a lyrium ghost. I have to say that i personally LOVE this because it explains what happened to her and works with the already established lore.

So what do you think? Did you think Weeks filled in the plot hole with a nice answer? Are there any other characters you think this did or will happen to? DhampireHEK (talk) 16:09, September 23, 2015 (UTC)

honestly, it's only a nice answer if the whole "lyrium bringing people to life for "a mission" ends up being more important in the future, which it likely won't be unless that also happened at the end of Descent (won't get into more details for spoilery reasons) as very few people killed Leliana at all. As it is, it's just a way to finally pacify the "but i chopped off her head!" people.

Leliana isn't even the first person to come back from the dead in the franchise (that would be Oghren), and I hope they don't give us the option in the future if they don't 100% mean it. Being able to kill off several characters may be interesting for roleplaying but with world state imports it can be a true nightmare from a continuity perspective.--ssalgnikool (talk) 16:18, September 23, 2015 (UTC)

I see what you mean. At least with the DA Keep they will be able to better keep track of things like "what happens if I kill X" and "How does this person even know me? I never recruited them". I hope there whould be less problems/bugs with continuity DhampireHEK (talk) 17:35, September 23, 2015 (UTC)

While I'm fairly sure it was just an explanation only for Leliana and her ignored potential death, at least she does die in a temple full of lyrium - where we even see apparitions brought to "life" by the place. And yes, most of those apparitions looked like spirits, but whoever you met as the last person from your origin always looked solid and lifelike. I'm okay with this explanation, as lyrium seems to be a source of all sorts of crazy stuff anyway. But again I'm fairly sure this was not planned all along from the beginning. Also to me this "I rest until I'm needed again" seems to be more of a foreshadowing that we will actually see her some more in the future. --Liaison Shaw (talk) 18:50, September 23, 2015 (UTC)

The Guardian (from the Temple of Sacred Ashes) also appears to be like that. He survives unchanged for hundreds of years, presumably without any food or water. If the temple can do that, then healing mortal wounds isn't too far out there. Kolgrim says his power is tied to the Ashes but I think he survives even if you defile the Ashes and kill him. My guess is that he is the one to takes the Ashes (defiled or not) from the Temple. So if the Temple can do that for the Guardian, why not Leliana?
