Does that mean once reaching high approval, he had a boner for the Warden? I figured the "Love" status meant a platonic love, but no other party members gets that way, iirc.

/sign your post :-)/ Ugh... creepy :-) --Ygrain (talk) 09:40, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Probably he wouldn't have had a huge sexual or emotional interest in the Warden since the memory of Carl would most likely be quite fresh in his mind, amoung other things. Like for instance suddenly joining the Grey Wardens, the impending battle against hundreds of intelligent and freaky new darkspawn. I pretty sure that would be more his focus than "ooo the man who saved me from templars, made me a Warden and who is now my current boss is very attractive. Screw the darkspawn, the templars and the wardens i just want to fuck him."

So all in all he wouldn't of "had a boner for the Warden" if anything Anders saw him more as just his boss. Whereas Hawke became his Hero of Dreams, a man that he could have. GodVsSanta (talk) 11:04, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

What actually happened was that Anders was originally straight but a secret group of mages known as Bi Aware (see what I did there?) cast a spell which caused everyone in the Dragon Age universe to become bisexual. Its a conspiracy man... Aleksandr the Great (talk) 10:47, June 27, 2011 (UTC) The spell in question also caused environments to be constantly repeated, the disappearance of female dwarves, choice no longer mattering, and an overall lowering of quality in the Dragon Age world. Aleksandr the Great (talk) 10:56, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

But...such a vile act would definitely include... BLOOD magic! /gasp/ What if those fiends used Sir-Pounce-A-Lot's blood? That would explain why he is missing! --Ygrain (talk) 10:52, June 27, 2011 (UTC)
Now when I think, bisexual companions were clearly a compensation for obliterating female dwarves as a gender of the race. Balance must be preserved...somehow. Or something like that. Dorquemada (talk) 11:10, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Anders' sexuality isn't very pronounced, which to me is a good thing, because it would have turned me off from having much interactions with the character. He basically isn't Isabela, who if you forgive her betrayal in the Fade in Night Terrors will automatically assume that your Hawke wants to jump into bed with her, and who basically isn't living and breathing sex with every single move and word he makes. I Think they just changed his character to try to suit everyone. In awakening he came across as a corn dog someone who was a women chaser who tried to hard and could'nt catch one. (if you noticed he talked a lot about women in awakening) now all of the sudden he has no cheesy jokes and he's bisexual they seem to have taken his character and did a complete reverse.DarkDabber (talk) 13:47, June 27, 2011 (UTC)DarkDabber

You know what's interesting? In my first playthrough, I had my character romance Anders, and I experienced the same reverse in character--Anders told fewer jokes, was serious and always talking about mage injustice and how he doesn't deserve my characters' affection. In my second playthrough, I'm going for rivalry with Anders, or mostly ignoring him, and I noticed that he tells significantly more cheeseball jokes. Maybe it's that he's got more of a sense of humor with certain people? Fritzywiggins (talk) 17:36, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

My theory above explains everything :P Aleksandr the Great (talk) 13:53, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

LOL, I just read your comment thats funny man.DarkDabber (talk) 16:57, June 27, 2011 (UTC)DarkDabber

@Aleksandr the Great- Funny how that happened, huh? Let's all pray that magic spells don't work in the realm of Mass Effect. Unless they come up with a biotic implant that turns everyone bi. Suddenly Garrus will be asking male Shepard for a tiebreaker in the Captain's Cabin. XIII Lightning (talk) 21:30, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Heh. I would think that the gender issue would be kind of secondary when subjects involved are a raptor who can allergize you to death, an amphibian with hallucinogenic skin and female of the species who must stuff herself with truckloads of medicine before, well, you know, but mayhap that's just me. 8-) 'sides, this was obviously done not to promote some bisexuality agenda but just to save time of individually scripting the characters. I'd rather have them cutting corners on that than on, say, maps, paratrooper mobs or "choices and consequences". Dorquemada (talk) 21:53, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Now, I know that this opinion may make some people angry but it's an opinion, love it or hate it. I personally don't like the complete, reverse Anders' sexuality from straight playboy to bisexual and it's not really the fact that he's bisexual that upsets me...it's the fact that he's straight if you play a female Hawke and gay if you play a male Hawke. I made this determination because as a female Hawke, he NEVER talks about Karl being his lover...ever! Why didn't Bioware keep it consistent? I'm having trouble believing that he's bisexual if he is technically not if you're a chick. At least with Isabela, she flirts with both guys and girls no matter who you play. You know she's bisexual because of that.--Fantasyeve87 21:42, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

You my friend hit the nail on the head. Thats what I was trying to say It seems he went from the goofy playboy to putting fuzzy clothing on poodles all on the account of what gender the player is. That makes the characters not feel solid (if that makes sense)DarkDabber (talk) 21:59, June 27, 2011 (UTC)DarkDabber

Isabela being upfront with her sexuality works well with her character. To have all characters be that upfront with their sexuality may cause problems with players who would be turned off by such things that would end up coming off as being oppressive or out of character. (VicGeorge2K9 (talk) 21:50, June 27, 2011 (UTC))

It is out of character for Anders. And for the record I disliked most of the characters because of it. I once heard the term Homophobic used around me and that most likely fits LOLDarkDabber (talk) 22:01, June 27, 2011 (UTC)DarkDabber

Then they should have made Anders more like an Isabela character than what he was made out to be. Awakening Anders probably would have no problem with it. (VicGeorge2K9 (talk) 22:07, June 27, 2011 (UTC))
