I wish I knew how to make a fricking poll. I'm curious to see what motivates all of us fans to replay DA. Andraste's blessings upon anybody who can convert this to a poll!

I'm considering playing through again. And it'd be a mixture of some of the things you've mentioned. I'd like to go back and revisit the characters etc and Ferelden. Figure if I play again I'll be able to uncover something I didn't previously. I'd like to play through as a warrior, as I've finished the game as a rogue and a mage, and all the origins. If I do, I think I'll be buying the ultimate edition, as I haven't played any DLC. Also, to add to your list, I lost my saves of DAO when I had to create another user on my PS3 cause my email was hacked and had to to get online. This wasn't a major issue, but it means I have to have a default Origins load in DAII, which is a bit lame. So giving myself a load for it in future DAII playthroughs would be handy. And I'm a fan so why not?! PS yes...Morrigan... totally worth another playthrough just for her S13Kuro (talk) 16:04, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

14. To enjoy the dialog.

Jory: I hope we'll both be lucky enough to eventually join the Wardens. Is it not thrilling to be given that chance?
The Warden to be: You're not all that smart , are you?

Coverted into poll. King Cousland (talk) 16:31, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

Thanks, King Cousland. Waiting for more people to vote! :D--Flemeth's Broomstick (talk) 16:46, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

Someone should put "Cause when i get Skyrim, i'm not sure if i'll ever play Anything else. ever."

To get the bad taste of DA2 out of my mouth.174.45.14.150 (talk) 19:12, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

The first choice in the poll (I missed playing it). Oh and also I second what the guy above me said about DA2 leaving a bad taste in my mouth.David (talk) 02:24, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

To get specific endings which change the overall world in the way I think it should most but from DA2 know wont have much of an effect - just hope they will make more difference on DA3. Jackrandall1 (talk) 21:11, May 14, 2011 (UTC)

you need a reason to play again? --Raiuki (talk) 02:27, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

I second that. --CommanderCousland (talk) 02:37, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

I Just love the setting. Experancing it is fun. (Knight Templar (talk) 02:59, May 15, 2011 (UTC))

Love the game. Have played it all the way through three times now. Doing human noble male for the first time then gonna do female then dalish elf and dwarf commoner, havent done those. I want a ton of different wardens and endings for da2 and beyond... hopefully you decisions are more important in later games. My canon character(first character I played was a male city elf) Origins is just awesome...Skursky (talk) 03:51, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

I'm currently doing a replay with a female Human Noble. I loved the story I crafted with my City Elf, with my personal favorite moments being rescuing my father and fighting alongside my cousins at the end. Now I want to try and make a new story and to me the HN seemed like the best choice for replay since killing Arl Howe will be much more satisfying this time. Plus I can become Queen of Ferelden with Alistair, that's a fitting ending for a hero.--B. Dynamite Tabris (talk) 09:10, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

Where's the hopeless addiction option? Someday I'll be in back alleys sucking dick, just to get my fix, "PLEASE OH PLEASE LET ME KILL THE ARCHDEMON ONE MORE TIME, I'LL MAKE YOU FEEL GOOOOOOOOD"

I didn't expect so many others to pick option 1, since putting it down made me feel like a sappy sap. What a pleasant surprise :) I see excellent suggestions added to the list as well... Warpaint's right, the dialogue is definitely something to come back to. In fact, I freely admit that I spend quite some time on this wiki just reading party banter. And yeah, unfortunately, getting the taste of DA2 out is also something to consider as well, though I wish it wasn't so. But hey... nobody thinks Leliana is a viable reason for coming back? I just love her/Corinne Kempa's voice! :B --Flemeth's Broomstick (talk) 15:42, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

I actually replayed Origins 2 or 3 weeks ago so I could import a new game on to DA2, I remade a character(human noble) because I wanted to make Alistar stay with the grey wardens and make my character a warrior, but there were 2 problems: 1. I HATE the Deep Roads, the Circle tower, the Fade, the Forest and doing Origin story-Lothering. 2. My disc has a small scratch that causes the xbox to say the disc cannot be read when I try to make a new game so I have to try this for 2 hours before I can actually PLAY the game. Then a nightmare occured, I became King and Alistar wasn't exiled, then the damn game glitched and decided that ALISTAR BECAME KING, NOT ME!!! and I couldn't stand the idea of doing all this AGAIN. My point is, I like the game but there are things that make me dread playing it. Welshman15 (talk) 16:21, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

I used to replay it for all the choices above. Now I replay it for all the choices above PLUS it sh*ts all over it's sequel. Andrehydra (talk) 16:33, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

I'm replaying it because I want my Hawke to come from a long line of mages who went "Screw you templars!" so hard in one game that it was felt in another lol. I mean, sure, I thought my male City elf transfer did well in DA2, but considering the whole mage/templar thing, I want to transfer an Origin that has at least some impact on said conflict, even if it may be small; in short, the mage human origin. Plus, now after playing DA2, I plan to fix some wrongs I did in DA:O, like not putting Alistair on the throne. But sadly, until the PSN is up and running again and the patch to make Zevran remember that I was in a relationship with him is made, at least DA:O will give me my fix until then. I'm currently replaying as a male Dalish rogue. I wanted to get a feel for the plight of Meredith's clan, and see if that affected things at all (probably not) in DA2. I also never did a complete romance with Morrigan, since my character (ok, me) always falls for Leliana. So, I'm romancing the biatch that is Morrigan, much to my chagrin. To call it "romancing Morrigan" is an oxymoron. How anyone could endure her is beyond me. Definitely not romantic, at all. I also never use Sten, so I took this opportunity to complete Sten's story line. Lastly, I threesomed Leliana and Isabela before my Morrigan romance. Is there any reference to that in DA2, with the appearance of Leliana/ Nightingale? In a nutshell, I'm replaying DAO to do some things I never did before. It has been enjoyable, especially to hear party banter that I hadn't experienced before. I'd hope to see some changes in DA2, because of it, but I'm sure to be disappointed. LVTDUDE (talk) 20:18, May 15, 2011 (UTC)

It's Marethari's clan, not Meredith. Jessica Sutter (talk) 21:47, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
Ooops. How did I type Meredith instead of Merrill??? My apologies to Jessica. LVTDUDE (talk) 17:12, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
It's a legitimate response. A romance with Morrigan is legitimate, as well; you're not giving her character enough credit. Leliana straight-out tells you that her bardic career was mainly convincing people she's in "love" with them. If the way that DA2 handled your DA:O decisions made you happy, then the one or two different lines of incidental dialogue you'll hear might do it for you. Futonrevoltion (talk) 13:59, May 16, 2011 (UTC)Futonrevoltion
It's alright, I just wanted to say something so there was no confusion. I'm sure I've done the same thing at some point in my life. Jessica Sutter (talk) 17:59, May 20, 2011 (UTC)

There are probably a hundred reasons to play.Mainly though,I simply miss them.--SJD2342 (talk) 11:21, May 16, 2011 (UTC)

Mods, mods, mods! Trying out all the fan-made add-on quests, independent campaigns, new classes, new companions, beta-testing, etc., etc. provides hundreds of hours of content. Futonrevoltion (talk) 13:59, May 16, 2011 (UTC)Futonrevoltion

I'm doing a replay right now. I've done two full play throughs with a femCousland and m!elf mage. I've played through all of the origins, but never finished them.
I've always wanted to finsih with a Dalish Warden, so that's what I'm doing now. He has a really cool face tattoo!:-D That aside, I really miss Ferelden. I was in Denerium last night and totally forgot about that Chantry sister reciting the chant with "ham" and "bacon" and the Maker "breaded sinners". Call me childish but that always makes me laugh. High Kicks (talk) 14:59, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
You might like the "Improved Atmosphere" mod. It's a bit too intrusive for my tastes, but adds a ton of people with wide variety to Denerim with their armor type being independent of your party's level. It also does things like start the the past-time-for-lunch sermon when you first enter the map, so you often come into hearing range mid-speech. Futonrevoltion (talk) 15:27, May 16, 2011 (UTC)Futonrevoltion
The "Improved Atmosphere" mod is made of several parts that you can delete from the whole before installing and activating it. E.g. in my current playthrough I'm only using the part that lets all party members comment on an area. Thavere (talk) 20:49, May 19, 2011 (UTC)

After completing one several replays of DA2 yesterday, i decided to go back to Origins playing as a Dalish. (first time ever playing as a Dalish). I was inspired by Merrill to start that origin. For the most part i found it refreshing to go back to an epic story. (DA2's story was good, but not epic just to state the obvious) As a console, I do however really miss the faster combat system of DA2. I'm playing as a rogue archer, & frankly so far I'm not as impressed with her as i was with the archer Hawke i just finished. However, so far I only made it as far as the joining, so maybe my archer may become bad ass later on. Also hearing Merrill, Marethari, & Feneral speaking in American accents put me off to the point I almost restarted the game to create a different warden. (I chose not to) I got so used to the Celtic accents of those characters in DA2, (according to this wiki it's Welsh) that the even though I'm American myself, the American accents just sounded very wrong to me. I thought the silent warden may get to me a bit, but it turns out it didn't. Aside from the clunky combat system & Dalish with American accents, Origins is a much better game (stating the obvious again). Oh, It is also nice not to have to go to the same map 50 times as different places through out the game.Ser Pouce-a-lot (talk) 16:41, May 16, 2011 (UTC)

Spec yourself as a Cunning-based Bard and use basic bow attacks with Shale in your party; the bow skills are mainly useful as crowd control. The Ranger specialization works well fluff-wise and makes for good tanking; summon a bear and, while the summoning animation is going, summon a wolf - you'll get both in your party. If you prefer big numbers over lightning-fast chains of mid-range numbers, max out Stealth to make up for the long cooldowns. Futonrevoltion (talk) 19:56, May 16, 2011 (UTC)Futonrevoltion

I don't know if I'll play Origins again until BW tells us how any potential DA3 may be. I'm in a really comfortable zone of both not really caring, yet maintaining just enough interest right now in the overall series not to bail. I wasn't disappointed with DA2 like many, mostly because it was clear to me what was coming, but I also can't play that type of game either, more than once at least. Though if Dragon Age wasn't in the title I doubt I would have even bought it to be honest. But playing DAO again would probably make me lament the departure from a type of game, and a series, I loved. So I think I'll wait for a DA3 announcement, and then play Origins again to either celebrate a return to glory, hopefully, or I'll play it again to say goodbye to Bioware as they're moving in a direction I'm just not following. In the meantime, I'll look for something else. Hell, maybe I'll do some work for a change...but I doubt it. The Grey Unknown (talk)

"Trying out new battle tactics/character builds - tactical stuff"
^ that one. I've played as a mage twice and still haven't finished my archer's story. I think I'll play a female rouge, maybe, after I finish this one. Meh92 (talk) 4:03 PM, May 16, 2011 (PST)

In my new play through I'm trying a few things different from past ones. For one my relations with companions. In past play throughs my Wardens were Humans & were nothing but nice to the other companions. This time however I'm playing as an angry Dalish, so it seems logical to treat the other companions like nothing more than sodding Shemlin. (at least so far) Another difference in play I already decided to go with is how it will end. I want Alistair & Anora on the throne together, Loghain to be spared, & The Warden to make the ultimate sacrifice. I feel like I have to start planning out early in the game how I'm going to pull that off, mostly how I'm going to have to handle Alistair. In all my past play throughs I made Alistair either sole ruler or I created a female noble Warden & made her queen along side him, Loghain was executed, & I performed Morrigan's ritual. I am also trying a class I never tried before in Origins, an archer. This is the first time I created a rogue Warden, & is also the first time I ever equipped anybody with a bow. At first I thought her attack speed was painfully slow, but as I continue I find it isn't so bad & actually seems a bit more realistic than the archers in DA2.Ser Pouce-a-lot (talk) 19:04, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

If you haven't done so already, you'll want to play Return to Ostagar and acquire the Repeater Gloves. A must have with every archer, especially while using Aim. LVTDUDE (talk) 01:31, May 18, 2011 (UTC)
Make sure you harden Alistair or it won't work. And don't let him duel Loghain either. --CommanderCousland (talk) 15:27, May 19, 2011 (UTC)

After reading this, I started DA:O again. I have played it through some... 5? times? I played DAII 1 1/2 times and could not finish. I adore doing the Alistair romance and am gonna do it again!! Laurelai (talk) 21:16, May 18, 2011 (UTC)

My main reason for playing DA:O again is not in the list: to create a new save to export to DA2, since I don't like certain combinations in the pre-sets. Currently I don't see myself going through several playthroughs of DA2, unlike DAO which is now at 8 and counting. I also still have to finish the Witch Hunt and Golems DLCs. Thavere (talk) 20:49, May 19, 2011 (UTC)

When DA2 was about to come out I started another origins playthrough for the sake of importing(I had lost my previous game saves due to a corrupted hard drive), when I finished it I played 2. By then I told myself I wanted to make a polar opposite origins playthrough to import and play as a more evil character.
I went all the way through origins and awakening again, imported it but couldn't get halfway through the first act. Went back to origins and started more playthroughs.
I think that playing origins, the immensely better game, directly before and after DA2 has forever ruined the game for me...I just can't stand all it's flaws and the lack of anything to make up for them.174.45.16.183 (talk) 05:18, May 20, 2011 (UTC)
