However I didn't like the force-truce ending so I reloaded and let Florianne kill Celene. It was a shame to kill the cougar but alas, Gaspard is too badass.

Strangely enough, I think the force-truce ending is probably the worst ending long-term, even though its the hardest to get. The alliance clearly won't last for too long, so the civil war will re-erupt at some point. Also, Celene, a cougar? She's only 36-37. She was born in 9:04 Dragon, Inquisition takes place in 9:41 Dragon. And Gaspard isn't badass to me, he's a rather generic expansionist, warmongering general guy. King Maric is badass, freeing his country after 80 years and facing the usurper in single combat? Badass. Teryn Loghain, regardless of his betrayal of Cailan at Ostagar, is badass. Rising from commoner to one of the most powerful men in the country through his sheer strategic brilliance? Badass. Emperor Drakon is a badass. Founding the most powerful nation for centuries, bringing a religion from infancy to being the dominant faith across the continent, being close friends with Inquisitor Ameridan of Halamshiral, fighting the prejudice of the day. Badass. Grand Duke Gaspard, likes brandy, despises the Game, tore Orlais apart because he lost the throne to a better politician, wants to re-fight wars long since decided. Not badass. Celene is the kind of leader that works for the type of society Orlais is, and if reunited with Briala, brings gradual change for the Empire's elves. --[[User:TheFereldenMagister|TheFereldenMagister]] ([[User talk:TheFereldenMagister|talk]]) 04:28, June 19, 2015 (UTC)

Does blackmailing Celene make it possible to put Gaspard on the throne? I'm trying to find a way to enthrone Gaspard without killing Celene so I can have a live Florianne as an agent. --Alois Val (talk) 20:22, June 18, 2015 (UTC)

Nope, Celene is the rightful ruler according to the rules of the Game that Gaspard refuses to play, so the gut knife is the only way to put him in charge. Furthermore, Live Florianne adds nothing as an Agent, not even a time reduction. She only contributes to the Inquisition in any meaningful way from the depths of her end table for orphans. I was doing the quest when I put up this post, and have tested it as thus:

If you find the honeypot scheme of Celene's, you can blackmail her but not into abdicating.

In order for Florianne to live, she must be spoken to then allowed to be arrested. While a charming ally, she's also able to be kept visibly within Skyhold if you make her a harlequin/jester.

I'd appreciate if someone added an addendum somewhere in the wiki, as I was trying to see if it was possible to make Gaspard the Emperor AND have a live Florianne, but it's not.

Thanks for the answer though, I did find it interesting to have Florianne as an agent (she does contribute as Josephine's agent, unless there is a bug I didn't see behind it).

However I didn't like the force-truce ending so I reloaded and let Florianne kill Celene. It was a shame to kill the cougar but alas, Gaspard is too badass. --Alois Val (talk) 23:53, June 18, 2015 (UTC)
