What advantage does someone gain playing DAO at a high difficulty level? Does it open up anything in the game that is not there with the "Easy" setting? This is my first game of this type I've played and I think its loads of fun playing easy. I know it's personal so I don't think there is a correct level that everyone should play with. I get great satisfaction of playing through the story. It's like watching LOR but better because I'm there controlling the action. I want a little challenge but I want to move through the story quickly too. What would I gain by playing at higher levels now? Bobv13 14:59, January 6, 2010 (UTC)

Higher difficulty is pretty much for self satisfaction. Completing this game at nightmare is a pretty substantial accomplishment imho and much more difficult than easy or normal. At higher difficulties enemies have higher armor and defense, thus resulting in more misses for your character. (an archer on nightmare is horrible) Also, for a mage hard and nightmare are much more difficult because their AoEs can also hurt your party. Cone of cold is wonderful until it freezes your party lol.

Depending on how much time I have and effort I want to put in a particular fight I go from Easy-Nightmare on the same game from Solo, 2man, 3man or full party, with or without a healer, pausing or no pausing(I can't believe ppl don't pause). Soloing on Nightmare at a lvl 12+ can be pretty fun with decent gear/set up and still some ppl say Solo Nightmare is a cake walk. I admit I did Normal with occasional Easy my first run through, just to have it run smooth and learn to play.--Hollowness 19:48, January 7, 2010 (UTC)
