I just started playing Da:O because I wanted to play the two first games before Da:I.. And I was planning on playing the same character with the same name and kind of be that person for all three.. But then I learned that Alistar is back in Da:I and he talks about the warden(if you didn't kill him in keep) and you have a small quest with her so obvi I can't pretend to be the same.

So my question is: Can I play the same in 1 and 2? or in 2 and 3? Or do I have to make another character for them all? And yes I know I can be the same class and have the same name but it wouldn't be the same..

You can play the same character in the sense of personality of the role-play, but no each game's PC is a different person. The Warden in DA:O, Hawke in DA2, and The Inquisitor in DA:I --Elshiro (talk) 21:08, August 24, 2015 (UTC)

Thanks :) Good to find out now before the Da:2 ..

When I made my dwarf character in Inquisition, I got reminded of my Dwarf Noble character in Origins. I thought about what might happen to the people in the five origins that you don't pick, and came up with a way of explaining how my Dwarf Noble could be my character in Inquisition. Once the idea was in my head I could not get rid of it. So I accepted it. It's not what the writers intended, but it actually fits the story very well. :) 71.218.233.160 (talk) 23:08, August 26, 2015 (UTC)

I'm curious how you would explain such things as dagna mentioning the Origins PC, or the possible "search for the hero of Ferelden" missions followed by a letter from the hero themselves. Or do you just avoid that for head-canon sake? Warden Mage: Ferris (talk) 23:37, August 26, 2015 (UTC)
I think, based on the reference to the 5 unpicked origins, that he meant the Dwarf Noble is NOT the Warden, but his Inquisitor is the Dwarf Noble who somehow managed to survive in the Deep Roads and, based on the Dwarf!Inquisitor's background, joining the Carta and being adopted into the Cadash family. All 7 Origins (including human and elf mage) are implied to have all happened. The only difference is which one Duncan choose to visit. Hence the Origins fanfiction plot of all 7 origins being recruited as Wardens. --TheFereldenMagister (talk) 23:47, August 26, 2015 (UTC)
That was what I meant. Sorry, my writing skills are pretty rusty. My Warden in that playthrough was an elven mage. Instead of the Gray Wardens, my dwarf noble found the Legion of the Dead, but ditched them for the surface when the opportunity arose. Since my impression is that the OP hasn't gotten far in the story, I won't go into further detail. Eventually she married into the Cadash family to enjoy a little more comfort and protection. Her husband died a few years before Inquisition. Normally I don't do such elaborate headcanons, but it does explain why a Carta thug has extensive knowledge of history, politics, nobility, and is able to play The Game like a master. 71.218.233.160 (talk) 04:18, August 27, 2015 (UTC)
